How much is your rent and how many bedrooms?

I’m curious, if you rent how much do you pay and for how many bedrooms? I have a small 2 bed house with garden for £1,100 private landlord, will be looking to move over the next few years and 3/4 bedrooms would likely be around £1,500. I’m fascinated with how areas vary on price so it’s just my general curiosity really.

3 bed semi detached £1500 and I’m lucky because it’s really big and got a massive back garden. I am in Bristol and that is what most 3 beds go for. I tried the council last year when I was given a no fault eviction and they told me I would have to be put in a 1 bed hotel room for up to 12 months before I would be offered a house! I was so disappointed

Not us as we've bought, but our son is paying £850 for a tiny one bedroom flat. Ridiculous, but there was literally nothing else. It's not even in the city centre - a few miles out right at the edge of the ring road.

£520pcm for 3 bed first floor flat with converted loft, our own private driveway/front garden and massive shared back garden. Private landlord. NE Scotland.

The flat downstairs from us is now up for sale after the landlord (different one to us) couldn’t find anyone who would rent it for £700pcm. They don’t have a front garden or driveway like us, just some gravel beside the shared side path and then their part of the shared back garden.

Cheshire.

Private let... £1700 to £1900 a month for a 3 bed detached house.

£1500 to £1600 for a 3 bed semi detached house.

About £200 to £300 a month less (for each) for a 2 bed.

(2 bed flats around £900 to £1100 a month, but if in the city/big town, (like Chester,) you can add 50% on.)

Social housing is about half the rent of private let.

£950!!!!!!!!!!!

It was £925 but we’ve just had an increase.

We’ve been here 8 years and we know how incredibly lucky we are. Especially when a 2 bed bungalow went up to let round the corner last month for £1250!!

Ireland €1400 for a 3 bed detached.

Where in Ireland? Certainly not Dublin, you could at least double that figure in Dublin.

Anon501178 · 08/07/2025 22:04

We are in the east of England, Suffolk, £825 for a 3 bed semi detached modern home in a nice area.
It's a good deal I think....we would be paying a good deal more now since covid and the reduction in rental properties has pushed the prices right up.
Luckily we moved in 6yrs ago and the landlord has only put the rent up once since.

DD pays £800 a month for 2 bed flat in Perth,Scotland.

PurBal · 08/07/2025 22:12

Our children share a room because we can’t afford for them to have one each. They’ll be fine to share.

Waterford…

Waterford is much cheaper than Dublin alight.

mondaytosunday · 08/07/2025 23:21

SW London terrace. I own but my neighbours pay £3500/month for three bed terrace. Two beds (without converted loft) go for about £2800.
I own a very small two bed in Fulham that rents out for £2850/month. Another two bed flat almost twice the size plus garden in St Leonard’s on Sea rents for £1100/month.

iamnotalemon · 08/07/2025 23:42

$1700 studio apartment - this is cheap! Caribbean.

4 bed house 121 a week huge garden 2 wc 2 living rooms and cellar

2morrowiscancelled · 09/07/2025 07:42

£550 for large 3 bedroom with 2 living rooms, 2 toilets & utility room, but no garden.
Private landlord.
Big house, crappy area - high crime, dirty streets, lots of trouble.

IleftmybaginNewportPagnell · 09/07/2025 07:54

Adult child - £600 pcm small room in HMO in south-west commuter town. It does include utilities but is really just a small Victorian terraced house pushed to the limit of lettable rooms. LL owns several in that terrace although is very efficient.
