Interests have changed again for December

Yet many say they have £50k and get nothing but should get £150 a month ?

OP posts:
Hollyhead · 08/08/2023 16:35

The thing is it’s a bit like a lottery, it would almost certainly work out as £150 a month if you kept the holding for 12-18 months. I’ve had a full holding for a while and although there are bad spells eventually a good month sets it all back right.

Iggi999 · 08/08/2023 17:08

I had FH for quite a while but didn't get anything like that monthly

WeAreBorg · 08/08/2023 17:13

Ooh that’s exciting! Yeah agree you’d have to keep them in for a while to get the rate.
Amazing that over a million people have full holdings

Hollyhead · 08/08/2023 18:52

@Iggi999 probably because the prize rate has steadily been increasing over time. The rolling rate for the past 12 months is about 3%. A year ago it would have been only 2%

I'd agree with this - when I first joined the rate had only just dropped to 1% and my return in the first year was just under £600. Since December (my PB anniversary) my return has so far been £1.1k roughly.

InTheCludgie · 08/08/2023 19:32

Btw does anyone know how the September draw will work dates-wise as the 1st is a Friday - will it be big prizes announced on the 1st as usual then under 1k ones on Monday 4th?

Sewingdufus · 08/08/2023 19:39

The app on prize checker is saying results on the 2nd. (But it still isn’t showing this month’s results for me?)

Ohmylovejune · 08/08/2023 19:51

All.this waiting is very quaint and old fashioned. Like when high street shops closed for a half day!

We want to know on 1st!!!!

@Blondeshavemorefun I completely agree with the dates you quote, and your logic. BUT the prize checker app is telling me different, results on the 2nd - which is a Saturday (and not a working day). But then as documented earlier in the thread the app has been strange for me this month.

At least we have apps....I inherited furniture from my grandparents and had forgotten there was newspaper used to line one of the drawers.

V ripped in the relevant area, but this is how you checked your bonds in 1969!

The full results aren't revealed on the second working day of the month, but on the day after the first working day of the month. So next month that will be Saturday the 2nd.

Ohmylovejune · 09/08/2023 19:01

@DrMadelineMaxwell

My exam results were in the paper too. That was late 80s. I queued up at the newsagent waiting for them to open anxiously looking at the piles of wrapped papers in the doorway, sat ready for the staff to take in when they arrived.

They thought I was mad when I bought and grabbed the paper and opened it out on the top of the ice cream freezer! I squealed with delight on seeing my name and they gave me a lollipop to celebrate!

Those were the days! Probably done by text message these days.

I remember my nan checking the winners list every month on Ceefax (or possibly Teletext)! High tech stuff.

@LAHallucinations that works with the app date then 😀

I remember my dad getting me a premium bond in my name when I was about 7 (for £5). Im now 50-odd. No clue re the details. Sorry for the basic qu, but how do I discover the status of this bond. My parents still live at the same address, tho now in their 80s… Is there a record somewhere, linked to my name and parents address, or would I need the bond number?

Ohmylovejune · 09/08/2023 20:21

When Mum died and we didn't know her bond numbers we wrote to premium bonds with name, dob and all known addresses. They wrote back with bond numbers and confirmation of no unpaid wins

You could try contacting NS&I and giving them your full name when you were 7 yo. I believe they have a tracing service.

they should have transferred the bond numbers into their database when they fully computerised PBs.

they may already have given you a Saver ID on their system, and you may have already won in the past in which case the winnings will have been allocated back to your Saver ID.
