Someone on here said they had more wins than the app shows..

I went into my account and was astonished to see 8 separate 25 pund wins.
I was only aware of 3!!

They were when I had 5 grand in there.

anewbook · 01/04/2023 09:38

@Veryfishy Not bad for 6 months! Hopefully a bigger prize will be winging it’s way to you shortly!!

@DancingDaughter50 Wow! That’s amazing! for a £5k holding!! Were the 8 separate wins all from one draw?! 😀😀

DancingDaughter50 · 01/04/2023 09:40

No.

It was several years ago and seemed to be spread out over 2 years.

25 here 25 there.

I've only just realised where the prize checker is on line.

I only knew about 3 lots of 25!

anewbook · 01/04/2023 09:41

@DancingDaughter50
My last winning (£25 last June) didn’t show in the app either. I found out in the middle of the month when a cheque arrived in the post! (yes, I still do it the old-fashioned way 😂).
So, the app is not always 100% accurate.

DancingDaughter50 · 01/04/2023 09:43

Adds another layer of excitement!!

I did well with 5 grand in there. Nothing with 1.5 though.

anewbook · 01/04/2023 09:44

@DancingDaughter50
x post sorry
I see..So yours was the opposite situation. You only found out via the app!
That must have been a nice surprise to scoop up all those extra £25s!! 👏🏽

DancingDaughter50 · 01/04/2023 09:46

No the app told me about 3

I don't log into the main account very often but this time I thought I would see if there is is a way to see past winning prizes and that is where I see them all

LouiseD2018 · 01/04/2023 09:48

Hi everyone,

I'm new here.

In one of the early midnight feeds for my newborn realising how much I was spending on random things being delivered daily I started reading instead and stumbled on one of your premium bonds thread! First I'd ever heard heard of them, and that night I opened 3 accounts one for me, ds, dd and my husband opened his a week or so later!

Very small amounts in ours at the minute compared to what I've read so I don't expect to win for a long long time but still enjoying thinking 'you never know!'
We have set up standing orders so hopefully our odds will improve as our savings grow....albeit slowly.

Will enjoy reading about all your wins in the meantime!

Has anyone's circle changed colour on the checker? Mine is still blue. Someone told me that it will change colour if we win...

April Fool!

Eaumyword · 01/04/2023 11:19

This is when I dream about:

Endless hot baths&house heat
A short spa break just for me
A cruise
Full medical checkup for all the family (we can't shake bloody chest infections!)
And the biggest - to leave my goddamn stressy min wage school job!

RudsyFarmer · 01/04/2023 11:26

Anyone got the links to the big winners yet? I rather enjoy scan checking those.

Hi

I think it is fairly straightforward (but you need to know their 11 digit holder's number).

There should be a little blue icon of 2 people at the bottom of the app - click that.

Thank you!

RudsyFarmer · 01/04/2023 11:29

Ah okay. Thank you.

Welcome!

Its a fun way to save. Every so often a miserable sod will come along and tell you it’s not the best investment, but what they miss is that gives you that little chance to dream. Also it’s a nice thing that people can buy them for DD, it used to be a standard Christening gift.

OneFrenchEgg · 01/04/2023 17:39

@LouiseD2018 best make a plan for if dd or ds wins - how will you/will you split it?

Haleso · 01/04/2023 19:11

Good luck everyone 🤞🏼

I like your Timetable @Blondeshavemorefun I need to stick it on the fridge Grin

Re: First working day of the month uou can check online the high winners list up to £1k

I think the list goes from £[highest large win] - I'm not sure the actual number, down to £1k (as the lowest value) right?

@daisychain01 yes

Million x 2 down to the many £1000 prizes

Yes. Got me. 🙄

Veryfishy · 01/04/2023 21:28

@LouiseD2018 the only reason I have full holdings is ( because I’m old ) we’ve just downsized and put some savings into bonds
I started saving £50 a month a looooong time ago , took some out here and there to pay for holidays etc and topped up in November
DD has the best record , aged about 9 , with £200 in bonds , she won £100
Both DC , now in their 20s save a bit each month and we have a bit of a competition each month as to who wins the most
DH is winning so far ( the git )

Leakingtoilet · 01/04/2023 21:36

I won £100 last month on 1k holding. Totally unexpected and beats the interest I would have got elsewhere as only had the bonds for around 2 years, if that. Not expecting to win again any time soon but I live in hope 😁
