We placed 20k into bonds and the first draw was January this year. We’ve won 7 x 25 so far so we are pleased.

is that about normal? Seems like a decent return to me.

I know banks have better interest rates and obv I don’t have anywhere near £50k to get lots of interest

but I love the thrill of what if ……

gives me excitement two days a month

I don’t count million day as very unlikely to get that

but love the high winners

then low £25 etx

That’s the thing for me.

I will have about 7k once I have paid my tax bill this year. I think once Christmas is done I will split my savings between topping up the premium bond, savings, ISA. My saver is now 3% up to 10k. But if you take money out, you don’t get interest that month.

The excitement of premium bonds is worth it and I can get instant access if needed. I m, intended to get rid of the premium bonds once my tax was paid. But I enjoy the process.

Does anyone know or heard of someone who has won bigger prizes in PB ?

ScarlettSunset · 30/10/2022 15:25

Well I'm very concerned for tomorrow in case I mistake agent million for trick or treaters...

Benjispruce4 · 30/10/2022 17:19

Surely they won’t come after dark!

I have read they come afternoon/evening when you would hopefully be home. Now the clocks have been put back it's dark outside now ☹️

Benjispruce4 · 30/10/2022 18:24

Oh I see.

Fuuuuuckit · 30/10/2022 18:51

I'm not answering the door tomorrow for anyone (last few years have been targeted by some nasty youths on Halloween throwing fireworks) so he's going to have to call me on Tuesday instead.

Benjispruce4 · 30/10/2022 19:08

Saw a nice house this weekend. Just need about £100k. 😀

Myleakycauldron I think it arrived on the 2nd of the month

PriamFarrl · 30/10/2022 22:50

My folks say that in the past, if you won a smaller prize, £50 or the like, that you would get a letter on the 14th of the month.
