I dont suppose anyone here can help me with something investment related - my MIL recently passed away and she's left part of her estate to my two DCs which they'll receive when they turn 21 (they're only 7 and 11 atm). Do these things have to be invested in a certain way or can they be put into PBs? I know there are people here who have kids with their own PBs and wasn't sure if theirs was a similar situation?

Guess depends what will said

If a chunk of money then guess can do what you think best with it as long as obv don’t lose /gamble with it - ie shares

So pb is a safe bet

How much did they get

OP posts:
InTheCludgie · 02/01/2022 09:56

Blondeshavemorefun not sure exactly yet on amount as MILS house is still to be sold and it wasn't in the best condition, but we think their share will be about 40k each. Means they would hopefully get a little win most months which would be reinvested into the amount already there. Plus its another two PB accounts to check each month which adds to the excitement! Grin

forcedfun · 02/01/2022 10:04

@InTheCludgie depending on the amount they have been left, I would look at spreading the investment. It's worth getting some advice from a financial advisor. PB are good for short to medium term but longer term (which yours is, given the ages of the children) I would be looking at investment funds with a spread of risk.

Is this right re timings this month:

3rd Jan - Agent millions might visit
4th Jan - High value winners released on website
5th Jan - Low value winners released

I love the beginning of the month, it's so exciting 😄.

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 02/01/2022 10:32

Does this thread not appear in anyone's list of threads they're on? It doesn't for me.

I've had various name changes but been on the past two of these threads, they never appeared in my 'I'm on' threads and had to watch them. However this one does, no idea why the others didn't, most odd.
Elsbeth1 · 02/01/2022 11:11

Ooo I love premium bonds!! Just calculated that I've won £350 in 2021 so far (all £25) wins with balance ranging from £8k to £30k this year not bad I think!

I've always had a small amount in there since birth and the most I've won in one session was £500 so due for a big win soon 😂

I wondered about this too. But the 3rd is a bank holiday isn't it? Would they have told the millionaires on the 31st to publish the high values on the 4th 🤔
Eaumyword · 02/01/2022 15:21

Can't possibly as they haven't knocked on my door yet Grin
Yes I thought that was the timeline - tomorrow 2 families get life changing news, then Tues is high value winners and Wed are the smaller prizes.
I get absolute flutters each month!

RainingYetAgain · 02/01/2022 16:44

I think that threads only appear on "I'm on" if you have posted fairly recently possibly the last 2-3 weeks. I have the thread o I'm watching and only lose it if I accidently unwatch it

h0rsewithn0name · 02/01/2022 17:46

Just checking in for tomorrow. I'll report when I've heard. 😁

BrusselPout · 02/01/2022 17:52

I got all excited when I went on Prize Checker as it had 'click to reveal results' but turns out I hadn't checked December 🤦‍♀️

The prize checker app says results are released on the 5th.
BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 02/01/2022 19:47

Yes @WobblyLondoner, the low value winners are released on the 5th - you can take a sneak peak at the high value winners on the NS&I winners the day before, and the two top prize winners are notified the day before that by Agent Millions. I don't really know why it takes so long.

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 02/01/2022 19:48

NS&I website, not winners
WobblyLondoner · 02/01/2022 20:17

@BreakingUpWithMyPhone Ah thanks. Do the high value winners (not the £ million winners) get notified before the 5th?

FiveShelties · 02/01/2022 21:13

The announcement is late this month because the guy with the million pound cheque is on his way to NZ and has to do 10 days in quarantine before he can present it to me.......................... nothing like an optimist.

Good Luck everyone

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 02/01/2022 21:25

Not sure I can do links, but if you Google Premium bonds high value winners, you can find the webpage:

https://www.nsandi.com/prize-checker/winners]

So, I think January's draw will be listed there on Thursday 4th Jan.

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 02/01/2022 21:26

Crap, Tuesday 4th Jan. I've been off on holiday for too long.

This is a good read about what it's like to be an Agent Million!

Eaumyword · 03/01/2022 15:00

The suspense of hoping for a knock at the door is huge! I wonder if they ring you first makes sure phone is sufficiently charged Grin

Revelation22 · 03/01/2022 15:51

Seems like they are only ringing people at the moment, they've stopped the in-person visits!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2022 16:01

Well asssume not a millionaire

Tom is high value

OP posts:
BarbaraofSeville · 04/01/2022 07:08

High value winners are on the website, I'm not one of them sadly.

Someone with a £500 holding has won £10k and there's two with around £7k who've won £100k!
