First entry into the draw. Counting down 🤞

TulipsTwoLips · 28/12/2021 09:06

Got a big bill coming up but hoping we can make it to Jan 5th to squeeze in one last prize draw! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

fluoropostit · 28/12/2021 12:08

Haha I am excited! First month am eligible!

barbrahunter · 28/12/2021 13:09

Just joined! I'll let you all know when I get my big win in February

Bienchen · 29/12/2021 16:05

Has anyone else had an email from National Savings to ensure details are up to date? I wanted to change my phone number but the website is not allowing it because apparently the number is not up to date? Wondering whether me being overseas is causing the problem.

InMySpareTime · 29/12/2021 16:14

I updated my number but it involved them robot phoning my landline with a code (which was fairly stressful).

I've been lurking on here but I'm eligible for the Jan draw so thought I'd join in Grin

I have less than 1000 in mine but I'm still stupidly excited Grin

I'm not sure you have to wait until the 5th, that's when the smaller prizes are made public but I think that the rules are that you have to hold the PBs on the last day of the previous month to qualify.

If you want to withdraw money, it asks you if you want to withdraw now, or after the next draw, so you could go on and do that now, and the money would appear in early January, although the weekend and bank holiday will delay things this year.

Although if your big January bill is your tax bill, you've got until the end of the month anyway.

Lincslady53 · 31/12/2021 19:05

We have close to the max for 2 people in bonds, and the winnings add up to around 1% per year. We have a similar amount in s n s isa that makes around 7% pa. We are moving money out of the bonds into the isas, nice to think that a big win my come, but the reality is a few £25 wins every now and again. Unless they increase the win % then we are out.

Someaddedsugar · 31/12/2021 19:32

I also won £200 @Blondeshavemorefun - that was on just under £30k holdings so feel like we've done ok.

Hopefully we'll find a house next year and our deposit will be ready to go! I'll then be using the PB account as my savings account as my current savings account isn't earning me anything!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/12/2021 19:35

It’s the what if @Someaddedsugar

Hopping on to see which of us wins the big prize in 2022 Grin

I just transferred in another £1000, taking me up to just over £10k. the money is earmarked for house improvements but might be in there for a while as I am so indecisive about what I want to get done!

forcedfun · 31/12/2021 20:23

@Lincslady53 I am planning to set up a s&s ISA for longer term savings, but for short term savings for a purpose I quite like the certainty of premium bonds

OublietteBravo · 01/01/2022 17:51

It seems strange that it’s 1 January, and there are still several days to go until the draw.

Someaddedsugar · 01/01/2022 18:01

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm going with the theory I'll win the million before finding the right house 🤣

TulipsTwoLips · 01/01/2022 18:07

Interestingly we tried to tried to withdraw funds on the 29th as a bill came early, got the usual "would you like to withdraw now or after the draw message", and when I picked "now" I got a message saying as it is so close to the draw date funds I couldnt withdraw until after the draw!

RubbishDay · 01/01/2022 18:08

Is it because it's the weekend and then Monday a bank holiday?

But the later draw is good news really, right?

It surely means there is still time for Agent Millionaire to coming knocking at our doors!

doodles55 · 01/01/2022 19:17

great outlook!!

torthecatlady · 01/01/2022 21:48

Not too much longer to go!

LondonQueen · 01/01/2022 23:23

I have some old premium bonds (from when I was a child) how would I go about accessing these? I would love to start investing in premium bonds but it won't let me as I already have an account (that I can't access!)
They will be about 20 years old now, as I am mid 20's.

Billandben444 · 02/01/2022 08:05

@Lincslady53
I also have full PB amount and a SnS ISA. The latter dropped 25% during the pandemic but I kept my nerve and it's slowly crept back up but still a bit fragile. I like knowing my capital is safe in PB whIle taking a gamble with the ISA.
