Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

Hi, I have been trying to find ways to make an extra income from home. I already work full-time so I can’t do another full-time job from home but can manage a few hours in the week and the same at the weekends. I’ve just signed up with most of the survey sites and I’m doing ok with those but I’d ideally like one longer project.

I’ve just signed up to Appen but I’m confused how it all works. I’ve applied for several jobs and have had an email to say they will consider me but how long does this take? How long does it usually take to get your first job? Also, do you all apply for lots or just one at a time? How will I know if I have been accepted for any? (sorry for all the questions but I’m baffled)

Any other similar companies that I can register with and how do I apply for work with them? Do any offer work quicker to newbies than others?

Thank you in advance of any help. I have tried to read some of the other threads but can’t find much info for beginners.

Hello so getting onto projects can take time, there are smaller bits of work such as reading news article and rating their relevance etc. I'd advise you read thought the available projects and keep applying like you have done so far, hopefully you'll be selected to undertake assessment to get onto one of them. You'll notice a lot of us are discussing sd which is a project that's been going on since mid April and a good earning one :)

Terrible spelling and grammar, I'm trying to multitask Blush

@LoLo2020

Hello all :) Wuestion re: Payoneer. It's asking for id and also I have to complete a business questionnaire. On that questionnaire is asks about my Company website and won't let me submit without one (don't even have a website!) anyone else seen this?
I don't recall having to do any of that Confused Hopefully someone else will come along that can help you out.

@Rgy3250999 Apply for as many jobs as you can on Appen, I think I have 20 odd pending (some of those will disappear without a trace, never to be seen again. Some I will hopefully get offered to work, but it could take months)
I'm afraid to say it took me months on Appen to get offered my first proper job. Hang on in there though, once you get offered one it is so worth it. They will email you if you get accepted onto one. I would keep checking this thread though, as we often mention jobs on here.
First few months can be slow and painful, but don't give up! Smile

Thanks so much for the help. This makes me feel better about persevering and I will hopefully be able to make a decent side income like you are doing 😊

I'm like you, have a full time job, so I fit this in when I can. it does become a little addiction though. Defo stick with it. You'll soon find yourself in a routine and have a little 'daily round list' that you do - checking for jobs and news etc.
LoLo2020 · 06/06/2021 19:44

@AnotherOne4 it's a request under the notifications bell, I think I had seen someone mention Payoneer account verification on the chat.

I'm confused Confused I just logged into my Payoneer, and I have what you mentioned. Do we have to fill that in then? I'm scared to click on it lol

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:00

@LoLo2020 @AnotherOne4 I'm not sure about the business part to fill in, I never had to do that.

I assume you have put your ID on there though?

I've been paid through Appen/Payoneer before. Surely I don't have to fill anything in. Have you been paid before @LoLo2020

LoLo2020 · 06/06/2021 20:07

@AnotherOne4 @Frenchdoors1
I've been paid through it early May so I'm now worried it won't pay me next pay run! So when you click on it it takes you to questions re: type of business including that section on website I mentioned which won't let you submit without one Confused

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:12

@AnotherOne4 @LoLo2020 Okay, I'm just going into my office to switch my computer on if you'll just give me a few minutes I'll have a look for you.

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:13

Grin I haven't really got an office lol Grin

Ha ha 😅😂
Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:22

@AnotherOne4 @LoLo2020 Haha. Right I'm logged in and the bell has nothing on or near it to say I have a notification. When I do click on the bell the last notification was on 27th Jan this yr saying 'update regarding your terms and conditions ' which I saw a bit ago when I just checked on there if there was any notifications. So what are you seeing?

I see the update to terms and conditions and also update about your new receiving account which is where it's asking for ID and the business questionnaire. Worst part is my driving license is with DVLA at moment and so can't submit as ID and don't have a passport right now ugh

AnotherOne4 · 06/06/2021 20:28

@Frenchdoors1 Where is says 'Good Evening John Smith' (obviously John Smith would be your name) do you have a long blue box with 'You have information to submit in Verification Center'.
I think that is what we are talking about

LoLo2020 · 06/06/2021 20:33

Looks likely my payment is going to be delayed until I get my driving license back and they're dragging their heels. That website element on the business questionnaire is frustrating as what if you don't have one 🤷‍♀️

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:33

@LoLo2020 Has your passport expired?
Or..do you know how long it will take to get your driving licence back?
I renewed my passport with the photo shop, don't know if i can mention the name. I went on the Sunday and it was delivered the following Friday. You can apply for an identity card with your name and photo on but not sure how long that would take

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:37

@AnotherOne4 I had that verification message as they wanted the ID from me and I rang them and told them I was going to renew my passport and they were okay about it. I've just remembered too, they said (before I renewed my passport) that they would give me the first 2 or 3 payments but then I would HAVE to send my ID in, so as I was due the 3rd payment from Appen I got my passport renewed.

It did a while back :( I think there's a back log with processing passport applications too and due to Covid :( Rubbish ShockConfusedGrin Thanks for checking, I will contact them about that business questionnaire as miah be a way to get around that

Oooh sorry I missed this, that's encouraging regarding first few payments ! 🤞🏻

AnotherOne4 · 06/06/2021 20:40

You think it's safe to do it? I can send them a copy of my passport (but I don't like to) We're not allowed to cover anything over are we? All information must be clear and visible

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:40

@LoLo2020 Regarding the business questionnaire, I'm just Googling to see if I can see anything, but, I have the number for Payoneer if you want because I rang them a few times at the beginning to ask about ID etc and they are really helpful. That's all I can suggest sorry. You could ring them and ask if you will get this payment, that's why I rang because the verification needed my ID and they are so understanding.

Frenchdoors1 · 06/06/2021 20:44

@AnotherOne4 Yes, it's definitely safe to send the photo of your passport, nothing can be covered up. Take the pic of it in a good light , both sides of the page they want, one with photo and the other side of that. It was automated and rejected my 1st photo of it straight away that I sent so I made sure everything was clear and visible, not blurred or anything then it sent and I never heard anything back from it then.
