Jumping into June... Earn £10 a day thread

Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

Question re Appen invoicing for you wise ones from Appen newbie: some of my auto generated invoices have not appeared, so I have raised a query today. If they aren't resolved by the end of the business day tomorrow am I right in thinking I am ok to submit my invoice with them still missing. This means at least I get paid for what appears on my invoice and then the queried items should get added later? Or do I have to wait till they get back to me and then I miss the change to submit my invoice for May until a whole month later (I think I read somewhere it's the 3rd business day of the month).

Also for Amur, if I don't submit my May invoice due to waiting for the auto invoices items to appear, does that mean my reimbursements for Amur don't come through either? Or does the ADAP system take care of that regardless of whether I actually submit an invoice? It was my first Amur last month and I'm terrified I'm not going to be reimbursed!

I read it that if they're not added we could miss the pay run

I'm new to Appen and just getting my head around it all. I have been invited to work on project New**n. The other day I received an email with the survey link in it. I completed the survey yesterday. So I can complete the survey once a week. Will I receive an email each week with a new survey link in it or do I need to keep referring back to the link I received this week?

Hey guys!

I took a break when I started uni last October so not been on here much. I now have some free time which I can dedicate to making £10 a day. I don't think I've missed much but could someone kindly advice what everyone is referring 'SD' to? I know we've stopped saying company names but if someone could kindly DM me that would be great. Thank you

So does that mean we have a choice of either delaying our Appen invoice for a whole month or submit it on time but get penalised for Appen's mistakes in not adding the automated payments by them saying Oh sorry you put your invoice in before we corrected our mistake, you lose out on anything that was missing at the time of submission. That seems so unfair!

Any Appen experts who can confirm?

Managed 6 hours today. 4 on SD and 2 on Riv. I hadn't realised Riv had started up again.. Only found out in appen chat so if you're on it, check the links. Apparently we can do 20 hours of Riv a week although can't imagine being able to and 20 hours on SD and LB too. I have never had so much work. Could have done with this evenly spread out over the last 12 months. Oh well, I guess it will be gone again all too quickly. Tomorrow, I will try and do 3 hours on SD and 2 on Riv. Some amazing amounts here. Let's hope it continues into the summer.

Wow you're a busy bod with all that work! I'm waiting for my driving license to be returned for ID so I can pick up some rev work :)

@LoLo2020, never been so busy with projects. I had no idea Riv would nbe a thing this time last week. It is a bit stressful though, especially when you click submit and you're waiting to see if your accuracy score will go up or down. 🙄
Good luck with rev. I didn't really get on with that. Tried it about a year ago. Passed the tests but I don't think I'm a natural transcriptionist, which is why I don't tend to apply for the appen transcription projects. Go for it though, as plenty on here are earning good money from Rev.
My kids are not having much fun I think with me working everyday of half-term. I do feel guilty but feel I need to as it could all be gone next week. 😢

@Catatemyhomework are you still aiming for the 20 hours on SD? I failed the Riv one, quite pleased as it sounds stressful, but on the upside you get to see your scores after each bit, so that must help.

It’s annoying that we haven’t had a communication from SD about how long it’s gonna last.

Some really brilliant totals for May, Mines was only just shy of £200. due to low content on potato, prolific, ebay and just started my first project. I've made half that amount already for June!

Is anyone doing Adr**c on appen? thats the project I got on. by sounds of it I'd have preferred SD (I did qualify and got the email telling me to wait for log in but its not on my lists anymore).

@peabrainer If your missing jobs are the surveys then I wouldn't expect them to be added on unless there are on there this morning (3rd business day).

This was my first month on Am** too and my invoice has been updated today but they've only put 45 usd on and I've spent nearer £60 which would be a lot higher in dollars. I've emailed them but not sure what else to do or whether I should still submit the invoice today? Any advice?

@AnotherOne4, I have 4 more hours to go on SD, to make my 20. Going to do 2 today and 2 tomorrow. Still have Riv hours but will probably only manage 10 as didn't get data until yesterday. Will aim for 3 hours on Riv today and 3 tomorrow.
Yes, it's a pain that we don't know how long SD will last. I keep thinking it will be gone every morning when I wake up.

Rive and Rev are two different things. Riv is a Malta project on Appen that started last week that some of us are doing. Rev is transcription work and as far as I understand you don't need to be an experienced transcriptionist. Hopefully someone who's doing it will be along in a minute to give you more information about Rev.

@bananamuffin99 if you mean Rev, then no, you don’t need any experience. They have their own editor and style guide, and I found it really user-friendly as a beginner to transcription. Happy to help if you have any questions about it. It’s where I do the bulk of my work at the moment.

I'm only missing one auto project now and that was on the week when it switched from twice a week to once, so I'll just suck it up on that and lose the $7 as I could be in the wrong.

Thanks for whoever mentioned riv was back - I managed to pass the accuracy test for the second link so going to do some work on that this afternoon!

Still awaiting my SD logins... some day Grin

can anyone tell me the target RPH for Riv? How many pages per hour should I be doing on ADAP?

@rhij86, I'm going for about 45 an hour so 3 pages. I think guidance said no less than 40. I find if I spend about 22 minuts on each page, that's 1 hour and 6 mins for three pages. I tend to invoice in 3 hourly stints of 3 hours 15 minutes
