rhij86 · 01/06/2021 11:51

Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

What is ‘riv’?

Reading through your threads. Very much need a new income stream, as have been made redundant but can’t get a new job flexible enough to cope with my small part time (flexible ish)job and 2 kids with additional needs. Even £500 a month would help.

bookgirl1982 · 08/06/2021 10:40

No am* for me either. I was looking forward to buying some tat today!

swiftt · 08/06/2021 10:47

@Safin Riv is a project on App*n.

£500 a month is totally doable if you have the hours to put in. App*n is great when you get a project, but it can take a while and the work isn’t guaranteed most of the time. I mostly do transcription work through a website called Rev, so if you’re a decent typist then that could be worth a try. The survey sites etc will get you a little extra each month, but nowhere near £500. Rev pay weekly and you can work as much or as little as you need to.

endofday · 08/06/2021 10:47

Is anyone still making any money on potato? It's woeful :-( can't even hit £10 a day on it anymore...

lilmishap · 08/06/2021 11:01

Been away for a while getting up at 5am to catch cr**p content and nothing else I also ignored all Appen emails, logged in today and I've somehow been placed on loads of projects?
Is anyone still bothering with all the FB surveys? I can't decide if it's worth it.

lilmishap · 08/06/2021 11:03

@endofday it's best after midnight and early hours at the minute I'm managing about £20 a day (2 hours) I stay up late and get up early though.

endofday · 08/06/2021 11:03

Is there anything else like cr...p about that people are signing up to? I used to make £900 a month, then £600.., thought it was bad when it dropped to £300... now lucky to scape £100 for a whole month :-(

lilmishap · 08/06/2021 11:04

It's likely to pick up when football kicks off properly

endofday · 08/06/2021 11:04

@lilmishap I can't do those hours unfortunately :-(

lilmishap · 08/06/2021 11:09

@endofday tbh I can't either! it's why I'm looking to get back into Appen and all the others. I used to have a routine set up where I'd do Utest, Appen and Intellizoom but it's all gone to pot over the last 6 months so I've been clinging to cr**p for dear life but it's killing me!

lilmishap · 08/06/2021 11:10

UHRS seems to have gone to shit as well, I might try Rev again.

Redcrayons · 08/06/2021 11:12

I had an OK weekend with Potato. Managed get lucky with a couple of shifts and got lucky with good levels of content for the times I was free. Still not getting £10 though.

Mococo1 · 08/06/2021 11:22

Hey guys could I know where to start off with this? Sorry not been following the thread but really need some extra cash x

Catatemyhomework · 08/06/2021 11:25

@AnotherOne4, I've just done Sho**e. It's my 3rd time on it. Only 3 products to review and absolute rubbish this time. First was out of stock so a skip, second was some exterior masonry paint in not a very nice colour and third was a £2 card Hmm. Pretty unimpressed actually. Hardly worth the effort. I've only had one good round so far. Oh well, it is still quite exciting! Grin

Now I am off to do some more on SD.

Baby89 · 08/06/2021 11:38

Thank you @jumpingforjoy I see it now. Can someone guide me with am*r it's my first proper project and dont want to make any mistakes thank you

unicornpoopoop · 08/06/2021 11:40

I only got 3 products on am - the first website was full of errors so I skipped but the second one has the exact same errors despite being a different website so I'm not sure if there's something wrong.

Anyone else having errors? The pages are all messed up and the product image is just a giant black circle with a giant black shopping icon underneath

swiftt · 08/06/2021 11:41

@Mococo1 best place to start is to read through some old threads. There are lots of websites and projects, but it depends on your availability and skills. The survey sites like Prolific and Qmee are a good place to start for a little extra, but there are options to earn a lot more if you have the time for things like App*n, website testing, transcription work, etc.

Redcrayons · 08/06/2021 11:45

@unicornpoopoop there’s an outage on some big sites at the moment, apparently photos have disappears from amazon.

It might be part of that.

rhij86 · 08/06/2021 11:51

@endofday I've managed between £10-15 each day this month so far, but that's only because I have it open while I'm doing my day job.

@lilmishap would you say it's worth getting up at 5 do do a couple of hours? I'm inevitably woken up by one or both of the children some time between 5 and 6, so wondering whether I may as well start my day a little earlier and earn some money whilst I do?

I was wondering the other day whether it would pick up once sports start coming back properly, do you think that will be the case?

Same here. Two lots of tat and the only thing I wanted (clothing of very high value) was out of stock.

Catatemyhomework · 08/06/2021 12:19

@YetAnotherRainyDay, arrhh, gutted. It is disappointing. I had the same. My out of stock item was an expensive hoodie which I could have kept or returned. It was the only thing worth having though! Sad

Redcrayons · 08/06/2021 12:26

@Baby89 I’ve only done it twice so not an expert.
Firstly take your time, you don’t have to do everything in one go
Screenshot everything, the rating page, product page, basket, receipt etc.
keep a spreadsheet of the details. You’ll need the ID, URL of the product, estimated delivery date, cost of the item. I also kept some notes on what the website was like, how easy process was, as this is what your asked to review on.

The chat forum on there is really useful, they answer questions pretty quickly.

3dogsnorth · 08/06/2021 13:35

I'm going to apply to Rev. Any tips on passing the test or is it straightforward? What's the earning potential like for an hour a day or so?

Safin · 08/06/2021 15:28

Thanks. Does anyone know if there any sites where there is bookkeeping / accounts work also?

swiftt · 08/06/2021 15:40

@3dogsnorth I remember the test being pretty straightforward. Just stick to their style guide. Earnings wise, I’ll be honest and say it’s a bit crap to begin with. They have different transcriptionist levels and once you get to Plus, you get paid more and have priority access to files. Earning potential really depends on the files you take and how quickly you can complete them. An hour’s work for me would be maybe a 20 audio minute file, but it totally depends on how much the rate is for that file as to how much I’d earn. As a rule of thumb, I stick to files that are 80 cents per minute and above but then the caveat is that these tend to be classed as more difficult files. The base rate is something awful like 35 cents per minute, and I don’t go near those unless I can churn them out at lightning speed, otherwise you’re looking at a really, really low per hour wage. Sorry that was a bit rambly! 🙈

Basically, it is worthwhile but you have to be a bit selective with the files you do if you want to feel like you’re not working for peanuts and that can take a little while before you’re able to do that, if you see what I mean.
