@tinging which bit did you click for the spammy website. My first one is ...I think... Company supposed to be in USA but a look about reveals company is in Rekyavik and they hide their email and personal details. Company only set up a few weeks ago and all the pics are nicked from a legit site

didireallyjustsaythat · 06/04/2021 16:19

I've completed Am*r for the first time. Got 3 items and 2 skips due to site errors so not bad for me. Only problem I'm having is uploading the receipt image and getting a URL on the submissions form?

Gatekeeper · 06/04/2021 16:29

@tinging i mean the reason for skipping

AdaShelby · 06/04/2021 16:50

I don't return to little businesses. I've been there and it's soul destroying to think you've had a good sales day then get loads of returns. I charity shop the stuff it gift it.

Tinging · 06/04/2021 16:53

@Gatekeeper there wasn’t an option that really fit so I just went with website error and gave lots of information and a screenshot. People were asking what to do about scam sites on chat though, there may be answers on there by now.

bookgirl1982 · 06/04/2021 17:00

@AdaShelby me too, I'd rather find good homes for things if the business is obviously a startup or small.

Tinging · 06/04/2021 17:00

@AdaShelby same here, the distribution and packaging costs often mean small businesses still lose out on returns even if you pay for return postage.

Gatekeeper · 06/04/2021 17:05

thank you Tinging

Catatemyhomework · 06/04/2021 17:11

Once you've finished your purchasing, can you upload reimbursements immediately? Do others here attach a screenshot or the email from the company? The email has the time stamp and the costs so I thought I'd go with that. Just wondering what others do.

whysotriggered · 06/04/2021 17:29

@Catatemyhomework I do each reimbursement straight after purchase and generally, I do screenshots of the confirmations

TheHumanFund · 06/04/2021 17:31

My A**r was pretty awful too. Two subscriptions, one couldn't process payment so all I got was an ear cleaning kit and some waterproof jewellery from Portugal so probably not worth returning.
Oh well, I've had some decent things every other month so can't complain.

whysotriggered · 06/04/2021 17:32

@AdaShelby same here, I also don't return. I gift or send to charity if I really can't use the item.

LimeJellyforBrains · 06/04/2021 17:38

Out of 5 ads I had 2 skips (1 subscription, 1 nothing to buy - was also disappointed not to be able to buy wellies or sturdy boots!). Bought a bamboo business card that transfers your contact info to someone's phone via NFC (clever but not useful to me), a £90 neck support pillow which had better be good and....... a welding torch and hose Grin.

So yeah. Another crap haul and not even that exciting this month. On all 3 I had to buy the item pictured, so no fun browsing.

LimeJellyforBrains · 06/04/2021 17:41

Well, I'm looking forward to trying the expensive pillow, I suppose that might be worth having.

Tattiespuds · 06/04/2021 18:04

I think I made about £100 for march. But will definitely do more this month. Just annoying potato was so quiet.

I've checked my emails and I've got onto amr for first time and I'm so nervous. Im so scared I won't get my money back. Any tips for a amr newbie before I start buyin?

Catatemyhomework · 06/04/2021 18:04

Thanks @whysotriggered. I'll do it later on then. @LimeJellyforBrains, I had to buy the item I landed on everytime too. It is quite scary doing it for the first time. I have felt quite stressed today! When you review each item, do you do it as each one arrives?

Catatemyhomework · 06/04/2021 18:08

@Tattiespuds, it's my first time on Am*r today too. Been quite stressful for me so I know what you mean! I would recommend reading the guidelines carefully and keeping them open while you purchase. Also make sure you are using the right guidelines as Shops is different from ecommerce.

redgirl1 · 06/04/2021 18:44

First Am** I was only able to make 3 purchases. All very low value 1. a metal plant sculpture thing - no return, one of the kids likely to take an eye out on it, 2. Eye drops, doubtful return, only cheap anyway 3. A key ring in the shape of an old camera roll , with a few photos you can pull out, not worth the expense to return.
Pretty useless. At least I didn’t spend much.

feckinarse · 06/04/2021 19:06

can I have some help / info about Apn and NwHaen? I have been accepted onto NwHaen and when I click on the page, I can see a bit of info about it - but I can't actually seem to DO anything. Am I going to get an email telling me when to start, and how to start, and how to use the tool thingy? I am so keen to get started Smile

ruralwanderer · 06/04/2021 19:17

I generally pay with Paypal and get an email receipt through almost immediately so use that. I always do my reimbursement before moving onto the next item.

bookgirl1982 · 06/04/2021 19:22

@feckinarse you will get an email twice a week for new***

Gatekeeper · 06/04/2021 19:24

dear or dear...just finished A**r. 5 purchases...two scams, one website error so I couldn't pay for it and 1 where it wasn't actually selling anything. Last one was a Chinese e-commerce purchase so not holding my breath. What a load of tripe!

TheLolaMontez · 06/04/2021 19:30

My Am'r was shite too. 4 out 5 purchases. 3 Chinese import rubbish and 1 lot of wild flower seeds

Catatemyhomework · 06/04/2021 19:36

I would have loved the wild flower seeds everyone on here is talking about.

WhatsitWiggle · 06/04/2021 20:20

I think this is going to be my last month on A*. 6 products, 2 broken websites, 1 that I couldn't work out what the product was so skipped it.

One is very dodgy - I thought it would just be a fake item masquerading as a well-known brand, but after checking out, I've had no confirmation from the company at all, only my Paypal receipt which just has an email address, no company name or item description. I'm worried Appen won't re-imburse and it wasn't a small amount. Just hoping I can claim a refund from Paypal instead.
