@seizethecuttlefish I don't have any tips or hidden gems to share (only wish I did!) I think April has been a pretty rubbish month for most of us Sad

MrsWombat · 29/04/2021 19:08

uTest is my biggest earning this month with £100 from a couple of long term clients who have sporadic test cases. That's a reasonably quiet month for me. I've had lower, but it's normally higher.

Appen is looking reasonably hopeful next month with P & S.

swiftt · 29/04/2021 19:08

I don’t have anything to compare it to as this is my first month but the bulk of my earnings this month have come from transcription work. The pay at Rev isn’t great until you make Plus, but definitely worthwhile at Plus level. I’ve got a 30 minute file that will take me maybe an hour and a half max, and it’s paying about £30. I’ve signed up for loads on Ap but haven’t actually had any work start yet. Prolific has been good for me this month too, but frustrating having to be ready to pounce on them.

AdaShelby · 29/04/2021 19:28

@MarigoldMoonStone you've been really lucky. Someone else has said on another thread they were booted from crisp for not making the minimum, and I know someone else who was warned once then removed.

You must be under the radar but I wouldn't advise anyone else not to worry as they do remove people.

RiverSkater · 29/04/2021 19:54

I just don't see how anybody can earn anything worthwhile on Crisp for the time invested! It's a relief to see I'm not alone.

You'd have to be so fast to get a decent hourly rate. I only usually manage about £4 an hour. They come down hard for any mistakes so I can't go too fast, plus their 'telling- offs' actually make me lose my confidence.

They rely on people needing flexible work and pay a pittance. Somebody is making lots of money and it isn't us minions (£1.8million profit last year).

They seem to have had a recruitment drive as the number of people on Slack has gone up loads! The shifts worked better for a while but now no shifts and no surges. I'll do the minimum this month at most.

TheLolaMontez · 29/04/2021 21:37

I am once again struggling to hit my potato target. It's just SO quiet. I was also in hospital for a week with the youngest Montez a couple of weeks ago, so didn't do anything then. It's a bit like pulling teeth. I'm going to have to try to cram a load in tomorrow but I can't see me hitting target Sad

felineflutter · 29/04/2021 21:37

I agree @RiverSkater as soon as I speed up and feel like I'm getting somewhere I get pulled up too.

The thing is it's hard to improve if you can't chat over a coffee in the staff room about little things more experienced staff would know about.

I also feel like I'm being told off which seems ludicrous when I'm making £4 per hour. Grin

I will probably carry on next month but I do think they are taking advantage atm.

Buster27 · 29/04/2021 22:27

Day jobs been busy so I haven't managed much the second half of this month, which means I'm another one that will be struggling to hit the potato target.. going to have to crack on tomorrow as I don't want to lose it. I'm sure I say this every month but I must get more organised with it!

whysotriggered · 29/04/2021 22:33

I did work out the average pay is 3p a post and some of them are long so yes I think they are taking advantage. I am not convinced things will improve anytime soon as there does seem to be a lot of people on slack compared to the amount in the queues.

lostitall · 29/04/2021 23:02

Hey was on one of these threads years back
Looking for something else as I don't know whether anyone else experienced anything like this but Appen have been a bloody menace at not helping me with my login issues! I requested password resets umpteen times and it let me change the password but then still wouldn't let me log in
My crisp account lapsed due to inactivity and now I need something else

TheLolaMontez · 30/04/2021 07:37

And so the great potato cramp begins... Confused

ruralwanderer · 30/04/2021 08:12

As of this morning my dashboard said 975 - I've been at it for an hour so pretty confident I've more than made the minimum so can enjoy the rest of my day now. Good luck to everyone else madly button bashing today! Cake

Catatemyhomework · 30/04/2021 09:12

Anyone been invited to do a quiz for At**s? Street signs I think it said?

0htooooodles · 30/04/2021 09:18

@Catatemyhomework me! but managed to screw it up on the first question Sad

Catatemyhomework · 30/04/2021 09:26

@0htooooodles, oh no. What a shame. I haven't done it yet. Going to do it now I think. Still got LB maps exam to do which I'm dreading. Improved since last time but still definitely not confident. Doesn't look like I'm in for a particularly exciting weekend! Will try At**s now 🤞

whysotriggered · 30/04/2021 09:49

@lostitall Have you tried applying for Appen from scratch using a new email? Also might want to try Lionbridge which is similar to Appen. Just remember not to work on the same project for both.

lostitall · 30/04/2021 11:00

So in regards to matched betting I need to set up a betfair account but there are loads of choices coming up- is it betfair exchange or just betfair

Buster27 · 30/04/2021 11:13

@lostitall Are you following a guide? I assume it will be betfair exchange you're looking for, as you'll need to be signed up to an exchange in order to lay the bets (bet on the outcome NOT happening).
@Catatemyhomework me! but managed to screw it up on the first question Sad
I got as far as question 2. Never mind!

0htooooodles · 30/04/2021 12:40

@MrsWombat I took too long on the first question, timed out, went back in and submitted it again but too fast...typical 🙄

MrsWombat · 30/04/2021 12:42

@0htooooodles That's exactly what I did with question 2. They don't want us being too slow.

MoreMoneyPlease · 30/04/2021 12:44

I've been accepted onto S'land which is good (although no work yet!) but apart from S'shone and H'peth, I've done very little. This has been my worst month since November 2019 - I need something big and juicy to get stuck into!

felineflutter · 30/04/2021 13:32

Do those on Appen. Do you just apply for as many contracts as possible or just the best earners? I have applied for 5. Is this enough?

Apply for all the ones you think you can do. You won’t get on to all and sometimes they just disappear never to be heard of again.

apply for loads - I have 35 projects in the application phase! and only one decent long term project that Im actually working, with a handful of the shorter term video collection etc ones on top
