Morning all. April Earn £10 a day thread.

Welcome to oldies and newbies.

This thread is for people looking to earn £10 a day through various bits and pieces. The thread has been running a while so there are lots of old threads to look through. A few links below for you to sign up to.

@StanleyR38 yes I didn't check the samples as I was doing it which I should have, thanks for the tip. Now the Easter holidays are over I may stand a better chance of being able to focus on it

@StanleyR38 thanks for the tip. Will check them out. This all better be worth it. It's just been crazy with me recently. Finally set up my charity and that is taking a lot of my time. Hoping to leave my full time job at some point. Fingers crossed it all works out

Started LB exam yesterday. Very slow going. I'm not confident at all. Done 5 so far and it's taken me 6 hours so not holding out hope. I am still unsure of my answers. Almost hoping I get booted out at 10 to save me from the penance! Grin

Thinking about going for LB and don't mind putting in the time to study for the exam but does the pay rate reflect the amount of time invested into qualifying?

@Baby89 I had the same. I was added to a work pool ages ago and I never heard back. I recently applied for it on their website as well but got nothing back. Maybe my profile isn't what they're looking for. I don't really understand the work market anyway as I can't seem to be able to find any jobs there. I'm probably being a bit dim. Haha.

I sometimes struggle applying for stuff if they ask questions like how long have you lived in the country etc. I always answer truthfully (almost 15 years in the UK), but I feel that that telling that I wasn't born here might screen me out sometimes. Or I could just be paranoid. Blush To be fair, it hasn't stopped me from getting a couple of decent projects so I am certainly not complaining.

Haha, I have just been given more work on K**x and literally any other day I would be ecstatic but now we have randomly decided to sell our house and move away, and I'm spending every waking minute doing up our house in order to sell it. Eek. Brew

@Baby89, it can take a while. I joined this thread in December 2019 and it took me a while to get on to a long term project. Don't even get much with that project at the moment. It's all very up and down and an unreliable source of income. I really hope things get busier soon!
I have spent pretty much all day on the LB exam. Just finished 10 questions now. It doesn't tell me that but I'm keeping a tally chart. Some of them I have been able to get from reading similar examples in the guidelines. Some of them have been really difficult and I honestly couldn't say for sure if they're right. I've not been booted out yet!!!

Thanks @PandemicPalava, it's very early days. I have done 10 do assuming I have got passed the dreaded 9 cut off. We'll see! I'm so slow though. I get such mental blocks with it and some of them are really hard. If I make it to 20 I think will have done well, but then I'll be cross with myself for not getting to the end having spent so long on it. I'll be glad to have it done either way!

I keep getting congratulations, you’ve been selected to participate emails for projects I’ve applied for with App. How long is it generally between getting those and actually getting to start any of the work? Whenever I click work this on any of them, they just say to refer to an email for instructions - but I’ve only had these initial congratulations email with no further details. It’s been weeks for some, and tonight I’ve just had a couple more. Not sure how this all works!

@PandemicPalava, I got booted out at 20 too Sad. Rushed it a bit today. I think I wanted to see if I'd get booted out at 20. Oh well, I tried and I get my weekend after all Grin. Not sure I want a second chance Hmm

Has anyone been an auditor for Appen before? Just got an email to say I've passed a qualification and selected to audit. Shock They've probably sent it to everyone knowing my luck. Grin

@PandemicPalava yeah, I’ve had a look but I still wasn’t sure if it was normal with me being new there etc. Was worried I’d done something wrong! Hopefully work picks up soon.

@swiftt and @PandemicPalava - ok, reading your posts has been reassuring. I got a 'welcome to New*' email and then I realised I can click through to the project area - but I've not got any subsequent emails from them inviting me to actually start, or telling me how. I'd love to get started, and it seems like I'm invited onto the project, but ... that was 3 weeks ago. So... now what?
Where's the chat you're on?

@feckinarse yup, it’s been weeks for me too! I thought I’d done something wrong! You can get on the chat from the App page, at the top of the page it says Chat and then from there you can go into chats for each project you’ve qualified for.

Ignore the above question, I found it eventually and saw lots of people in my situation. I see ''sit around and wait'' is the answer!

Is this the one beginning with a P? If so, I got the same message and I thought I failed the qualification nice and proper. Hmm I'm always delighted when I pass something, so yay!

@Catatemyhomework oh no! Weird. I wonder if 20 is a cut off. I got my new exam date today, 27th... now to re read the guidelines...

@feckinarse sit around and wait is definitely the consensus. Frustrating
