It was my first draw, £14k invested, and won £25, really pleased. I'm reinvesting everything then taking most of it out again next year as it's earmarked.

My dps both have £50k, my dm wins several prizes every month, my df hardly ever wins!

ssd · 04/10/2020 08:16

I looked at opening an account but when I googled it it said people have been having problems accessing their money.
And also the rates are being slashed. I'm taking it the prize draw is different to the rates?
I'm wondering if the prize draw element will remain the same and if its worth it going to the bother of opening a new account just now?

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 04/10/2020 08:30

We have £70k between two accounts, and have a win on both most months. This month 3 x £75 between us

@ssd the prize draw is the rates! There is no additional interest so you take a gamble, essentially. It is currently the equivalent of 1.4% but is going down in December to 1%. It’s been higher than most bank savings these last few months, and is still a good deal if you are paying tax on interest

AuntieMarys · 04/10/2020 08:36

Just won £25! It will buy a bottle of gin. Third win in 3 years.

HeronLanyon · 04/10/2020 11:14

Have had premium bonds for 4 months. Currently just worked out my ‘prize in place of interest’ is running at 1.6%.
To be honest I put money in p binds so it was safe rather than for interest. Also have other accounts with them which pay interest and which are 100% guaranteed (treasury backed). X at the time (beginning of Covid) I was more interested in safety of deposits over the bank guarantee limit rather than interest.

Sonmi451 · 04/10/2020 21:11

I've had my first ever win! £25 on just over £4k, started from zero in June 2019 so has been building gradually. Very happy with that!

OublietteBravo · 04/10/2020 21:14

2 x £25 this month. I think that’s £375 in the last year. (I have about £40k of premium bonds).

Untangled87 · 03/11/2020 00:21

£25 for me this month on £30k.

Orangecake123 · 03/11/2020 06:15

£25!

shesellsseashells99 · 03/11/2020 06:23

Hi there. Last month was my first month in the draw. I got left some inheritance, I won £25 last month. I got a text to tell me I had won on the draw. This month, no message so I guess I haven't this month? Do they always sent a message to tell you?

Dinosauraddict · 03/11/2020 06:25

£75 on max holdings - pleased with that!

I always get an email (no text) about 3 days after I've found out the result through prize checker.

Orangecake123 · 03/11/2020 06:26

I'm not signed up to the text alert, but the emails always come around a day later. You can also check if you've won using the app and the website.

OllysArmy · 03/11/2020 06:32

£50 this month which is £150 in the past 6 months
I usually have between £25000 and £30000 invested

MarthasGinYard · 03/11/2020 06:38

Me 25
DP 2x 25

Sometimesonly · 03/11/2020 06:39

Just coming on to say I have had my premium bonds since 1987 and have never won anything!

MakeTeaNotWar · 03/11/2020 06:40

Nothing for us again this month

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 03/11/2020 06:51

I'm getting 'Results not available yet' on the app - how did you get yours so early?

I've had £50, £25 and 2 x £25 in the three months I've had PBs so I'm going to be gutted if I don't get anything this month! But it's already made more than a year's interest in an easy access account so I've no right to be I suppose.

For anyone who's had them a long time, if you stop winning, is it worth cashing out and buying new bonds?

InMySpareTime · 03/11/2020 07:22

Nothing, but not surprising as there's not much in there after paying DS's halls rent and buying a new car.

Gazelda · 03/11/2020 07:42

2 x £25 wins this month. I've got about £30k in premium bonds, saved for a specific project. I'll be bereft of the monthly excitement when I have to withdraw the money.

FidgetWonkham · 03/11/2020 07:46

I have a very small amount of premium bonds but I haven’t changed my address since I moved...... 10 yrs ago 😳

Will any (unlikely) winnings just be added on or saved for me to collect?

FidgetWonkham · 03/11/2020 07:47

Have also misplaced the actual certificates somewhere which is why I haven’t checked them.

Orangecake123 · 03/11/2020 07:58

I think they would just get saved up.

SummerOfComedy · 03/11/2020 08:06

Another 4 wins of £25 this month. £25,000 invested.

That's £225 in the last 3 months for me.

Very happy with that. 😀

OneofPansPeople · 03/11/2020 08:10

I've got some uncashed bond cheques that are out of date.
Does anyone know if I can get them reissued?

JMG1234 · 03/11/2020 08:16

My son won £10,000 a few years ago from £100 worth of bonds my parents bought for him. At the time, I would rather have put it in a savings account so I definitely had to eat my words on that occasion.
