DD's August winnings - four cheques dated 4th August - arrived on 4th November. Hmm We live on the continent, but three months is ridiculous. Plus the cheques are only valid for three months... I tried to phone NS&I to ask what to do, but gave up after about 20 minutes; however, I did find a FAQ section on their website that said that some banks will accept cheques that are older than three months, and otherwise they'll reissue them. To cut a long story short, my dad paid the cheques into the bank last week and we haven't heard any more, so I hope Barclays have accepted them!

I thought we'd signed up to have prizes paid directly into my bank account, but discovered as soon as we'd reached maximum holdings four or five months ago that this wasn't the case. I was able to change it for DS and me fairly easily (and could pay in the cheques from here using the app on my phone), but I lost access to DD's NS&I account when she turned 16 earlier this year, and it took months to sort out online access for her. The cheques for her winnings in July "only" took a couple of months to arrive and her prizes since September have been going into her bank account, so it's just the pesky August cheques to be sorted out.

Wrt winnings, I've won £600 since February, DD £400 and DS £700 (all starting on about £40k and on max. holdings since about June).

Place marking

CoronaIsWatching · 20/11/2020 16:10

I wonder how they do the agent Million visits in lockdown? Maybe I'll get a mysterious zoom invite by email on December 1st...

CoronaIsWatching · 20/11/2020 16:13

Anyway if I won a million my breakdown would be;

£300k to buy a house (currently renting and saving for deposit)
£200k straight into pension/investment
£50k keep in Premium Bonds (you never know)
£350k flat in London
£100k decorating and upkeep of the properties, couple of holidays, second hand car, rest stick in savings for emergency fund

Queenie8 · 20/11/2020 22:03

December is the first draw I'm eligible for 🤞🏻. I decided to give PB a chance as the money is not earning anything in my bank account. Wish me luck 🍀

Dollygirl2008 · 22/11/2020 19:08

Am I being really dozy - can't I purchase premium bonds via the app??? I tried doing it from my bank account, and just transferring money into the details it gives me, but it comes up with a message saying that the account details aren't the type that allowed Barclays to check its authorised

Is there another way?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2020 21:09

Think has to be a nominated back account ?

Or do via their bank account and sort code

Yes I think that's the best idea - too much money to risk if it's not obvious!!

I buy mine on the website by debit card. You could probably do this on whichever device you run the app on.
ProbablyFault · 01/12/2020 00:04

Good luck this month everyone 🙂🤞🏻

UkSky · 01/12/2020 00:28

Got full allowance of bonds. First draw was November and I won 3 x £25. Chuffed to bits.

Fingers crossed for this month.

abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 01/12/2020 07:42

Good Luck everyone!

AaronPurr · 01/12/2020 07:44

Good luck everyone Smile

This month's millionaires are a woman from Manchester and another from South Gloucestershire.

There's also someone in West Sussex with a £210 holding who's won £25k.

@BarbaraofSeville one who only invested the winning bond 6 months, how lucky are they!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/12/2020 07:56

Guess I’m not the millionaire winner this month then 😂

Imagine opening that email.

SwedishEdith · 01/12/2020 21:57

Someone in Manchester has won £5k on a bond bought in 1968.

MakeTeaNotWar · 02/12/2020 01:39

I've won £25! First win in months

Dinosauraddict · 02/12/2020 03:35

£100 for me this month on max holdings - I'm very happy with that!

PeggyMoo · 02/12/2020 04:28

£25 better than nothing but I really could do with a bigger win

Orangecake123 · 02/12/2020 06:19

Third draw. £0.

Hopefully next month.

Total holding £18.8k
