£25 this month after £50 last month. That's on a balance of £30k. Have transferred the rest of our house funds there so next month we will have £100k between us! We have a similar amount in a savings account and get £4 per month so it's all a bonus anyway.

DeathAndTaxis · 02/03/2021 18:23

I was unlucky this month, so I must be holding out for a cool million next month 😎.

StanfordPines · 02/03/2021 18:41

Nothing this month. But I only have a tiny amount.

Calmingvibrations · 02/03/2021 18:44

£0 this month on 14k.

Okki · 02/03/2021 22:29

My Nan bought me £30 worth in the 1970's. Over the years I've won about £300. I bought £1k last summer, but reading this thread, I guess I'm not going to win anything Grin

leafygarden42 · 03/03/2021 06:47

£25 win for March on £25k holding. Pleased to get a little something!

2020iscancelled · 03/03/2021 07:33

£100 on £50k (mine)
£50 on £20k (my sons)

Not bad month but haven’t had more than the odd 25£ for a good few months now so overall not doing as well as a savers account for the same amount (not based on today’s rates but compared to one I took out at the same time i got the bonds in 2020)

Souther · 03/03/2021 08:00

I won 3x 25

CoastAlong · 03/03/2021 09:31

£0 for me. It's only my second month in the draw with £10,000 holding.

VanGoghsDog · 03/03/2021 10:33

£25 today (on c£25k which I put in Dec, also had £25 in Feb).

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 03/03/2021 11:17

Zero on maximum holdings, not good!

justanotherneighinparadise · 03/03/2021 11:39

It definitely used to be better when I first stared with premium bonds. Maximum holding would have been a definite win each month 😔

Chewbecca · 04/03/2021 11:32

£50 on £40k here - decent return.

Persuaded DH to open an account of his own this month to hold our savings for a big trip in a couple of years so extra chances for us.

Illegible · 07/03/2021 11:13

My mum won £25 in her first draw with £5k in. I, unsurprisingly, won £0 with my £500.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 07/03/2021 15:54

£75 this month.

leafygarden42 · 10/03/2021 07:48

Does anyone save up a certain amount before buying premium bonds? ie wait until you have £1000, in stead of just putting in the odd £100? I know rationally it shouldn't make any difference...

InMySpareTime · 10/03/2021 08:03

Statistically you'd be better off putting money in ASAP rather than waiting to save up a larger lump, as the smaller amount would be in earlier draws.
Don't be paying £25 a week in when you could save that up to £100 a month though, as the draws are monthly and it's hassle to do the extra transfers.

grumpypug · 10/03/2021 08:48

I do a small monthly amount rather than a larger lump sum. Saying that, I haven't won't anything yet so might not be the best advice! Grin

There is definitely no advantage to doing that, the more and sooner you are in, the sooner and more likely you are to win.

It's not like the stock market where "smoothing" is beneficial.

leafygarden42 · 10/03/2021 10:14

Thanks for that - now for the next unimportant (but vital) question. What is the last day of a month to buy premium bonds so they will be in for the full month before a draw IYSWIM

InMySpareTime · 10/03/2021 10:32

Really the 27th if you want to be absolutely sure. My Regular payment date is the 28th, but because that was a Sunday last month, the payment went out on the 1st so missed that month.

Ethereall · 10/03/2021 10:33

Won £75 this month on £40,000 investment. First month of investment.

OublietteBravo · 10/03/2021 10:35

My regular payment date is the 26th.

BikeRunSki · 10/03/2021 10:59

I’ve had £100-£3000 all my life (literally, the first ones was bought the day after I was born), and have never won a penny.

leafygarden42 · 10/03/2021 12:08

@InMySpareTime - thanks for that info - seems like 26th might be the safest date as it were.

@BikeRunSki - do you mean you have £3000 in total? If so, I guess that's why you haven't won much. Sad Fingers crossed you something soon.
