£50 for me and £25 for DH, both on full holdings. Not sure about our tally for the year, but will have to keep one next year. Maybe we should start a new thread in January for those wanting a yearly tally?

Nothing for the kids but they only have a tiny amount so far as we’ve only just started for them.

Frankley · 03/12/2020 13:04

If you invest in premium Bonds for your children, how would you feel if one of them won a large sum and the other one did not?
This has always put me off doing it. Otherwise l would like to.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 03/12/2020 13:11

My parents have some, they are finding it very difficult to use at the moment, they are not going to get cheques anymore, it's all done online. Trouble is, they don't have internet access.

jackstini · 03/12/2020 15:09

£550 won on £50k holding! Smile

I would share it between them both

Once 18 then fair game

Once an bank account is linked to their account money will go there and they can take out

Or

Can be reinvested if don’t have the max amount

£75 this month on 35k holding

AmandaHoldensLips · 03/12/2020 16:10

@jackstini - awesome! Congratulations!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 03/12/2020 16:24

Thanks Blondes - they've been trying to phone them to sort this for weeks, nobody answers the phone, and they thought the deadline was December.
Finally the Premium Bonds people have realised that they have more elderly / non-internet-enabled customers than they realised, and have a) extended the deadline and b) allowed someone (me!) to sort it online on their behalf.
My mum's still going to miss her cheques because she liked getting the envelopes and wondering how much was inside - a text message isn't quite as exciting.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 03/12/2020 16:24

And yes with children - mine both have some from Grandma - we've said if either wins it is to be split equally. They've only had a couple of £25 quids so far.

Chewbecca · 03/12/2020 17:07

The emails come days late too.

I like checking the High Value Winner list first to see if there’s any in my county with my holding.

I got zero this month on a £37k holding - not good!

zighead · 03/12/2020 18:59

I won 2 x £25 on approximately 9K. Very pleased indeed!

I’m the same @EndoplasmicReticulum

Love spotting the white envelope

£75 on £37k, pleased with that.

ProbablyFault · 26/12/2020 09:30

I'd like it if you could have separate notional pots of Premium bonds, so a personal pot, and a shared family £ pot. I suppose you could do it yourself by taking a note of bond numbers, but it would be nice not to have to.

Chewbecca · 26/12/2020 09:54

I imagine there would be legal / contractual challenges with a financial product which had multiple owners.

ProbablyFault · 26/12/2020 10:06

I didn't mean multiple owners, I meant me owning both pots. I was just thinking out loud really. Not long until the next draw.

lanbro · 26/12/2020 10:13

I put £14500 in bonds in August so first draw was October, have won every draw since totalling £175, reinvested. I've obviously been lucky, hoping for another win in January before I have to draw most of it out for a business venture!

ChasingRainbows19 · 26/12/2020 10:17

Had mine for a few months and got my first £25 in December. Only got £2800 in so a much greater return than my savings with just one month. It’s my emergency savings so just there for safe keeping really. Hoping to put more in.

My partner has £40,000 ish and he wins most months, £25/£50.

windmill26 · 26/12/2020 10:50

£10000 since June ...won nothing yet! Fingers crossed for the next draw!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/01/2021 20:33

Why is it 5 jan this month

Usually 2/3

OP posts:
Sunseed · 01/01/2021 20:35

Because the 5th is only the second working day of the month.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2021 09:46

Oh

New poster/PB investor, reading thread with interest.

Can I check - is this the app you talk of - Premium Bond Checker? It doesn't look official or created by NSI. Is it the right one?
