All the links are mucked up from the last thread so I've copied and pasted an old list. Hope they are right and please ask if you want a direct link.

I might be rocking in the corner tomorrow night.

I've got three big uTest cases on the go. One is taking a ridiculous amount of time to do, and they've announced a bonus if we get it done tomorrow. One was meant to be half-hour tomorrow morning on an easy device which has now turned into 2 hours on a difficult one. And another one was meant to happen on Wednesday and has got delayed and I reckon they'll want me to do it tomorrow.

Pray that I don't bugger it all up and get zero. ConfusedSad

@TheLolaMontez This is not unusual, even now there are times I constantly get an error message and the advice is reset, reload, uninstall and reinstall.

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2020 08:12

I tried all the above last night @whysotriggered and still no luck Sad

whysotriggered · 04/09/2020 09:20

Last time it got really bad, the advice on the chat was to reinstall an old version of the app involved. Eventually, enough of us did this that Appen noticed and sorted out the problem. I don't have any other advice but to keep on bothering them.

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2020 10:42

Managed to do some on the desktop version today, wasn't as quick with it though. It won't let me do the 2nd part for an hour either (?!) weird... hope the app version is back soon, find that far easier.

lilmishap · 04/09/2020 12:33

Flippin Eck! Intellizoom was on fire early this morning I made approx $60-70 from 8 tests and the longest was about 6 minutes.

Must get into Crisps as I've been slacking and waiting on Kn*x emails. I lost my patience with the Neevo healthcare sentences.

ruralwanderer · 04/09/2020 13:03

Way to go @lilmishap, Intellizoom are awesome 😁👍

WonderTweek · 04/09/2020 13:15

I love Intellizoom. It's actually fun to do their surveys. I've not had very many invitations from them in the last week or so, and I'm hoping they're not trying to get rid of me. I love a card sort job me!

I'm waiting on K and S emails too and it's taking ages. Been working on this odd Neevo job and I realised that they could just disqualify all of mine when they notice the glitch. Hopefully not though. Someone asked about how to email them earlier, and I just replied to their initial email and it seemed to work as I've already received a response. That's good to know.

I'm currently sat here surrounded by mountains of clothes and random stuff. eBay, here I come! I've actually never sold anything on there so I feel like I have to learn some new skills here. Grin

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2020 13:35

I've never managed to get anything worth while on intellizoom, I've had invites but then get screened out - am I doing something wrong?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/09/2020 13:37

Those 'Neevo' 'three answers' tasks are a bit random. I cannot do more than about eight at a time.

dirtyfries · 04/09/2020 14:38

Is anyone doing compare the two voices on neevo? They all sound exactly the same to me Confused

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/09/2020 14:42

@dirtyfries yes I agree entirely!

WonderTweek · 04/09/2020 15:11

I really wanted to do the voice comparison task and thought I was really quick to click on the link but it keeps telling me there's no jobs available. Boo!

However, I did get invited to do a card sort on Intellizoom just now so I must have manifested the opportunity. Grin @TheLolaMontez Intellizoom are hit and miss. I get screened out constantly, but sometimes I have a good run where I get to do a couple of tasks. I'm sure you'll get more surveys soon!

NCforsafety · 04/09/2020 16:12

Just been invited to do the C*E exam on Appen - any tips tricks or motivation available from any of you lovely lot?

WonderTweek · 04/09/2020 20:17

Re. the pronunciation job on Neevo. I just heard back from them and they said we should just click "something else" when the pronunciation is correct. I noticed that they have noted it in the instructions too.

endofday · 04/09/2020 20:52

Anyone know when Appen usually pay for invoices work? What date?

TheSeedsOfADream · 04/09/2020 21:01

14th usually.

Sonmi451 · 04/09/2020 22:32

I've started seeing some emails from Utest over the last week or so, which is positive, although I haven't had time to actually do anything. Do they just invite everyone, or do they target those who fulfill some of the criteria? I actually got an invitation today, I only saw it at about 8pm though, so would have had to do it immediately, and not having done anything for them yet, I got scared and wussed out. I didn't feel I had the time to go through it all and prepare myself as I would like to have done, so I declined, rather than try it and balls it up.

I got an invitation from M&S Bank (because I have their credit card) to do a zoom interview which will take 90 minutes and pays £50. I've said yes, but haven't heard yet whether I've been selected. As part of the process they asked if I'd like to do other surveys, so I said yes, and I've just done one about using guest check out (rather than registering and signing in) when online shopping. Apparently I'm going to be paid £5 for that, but not sure exactly when. If I get any more through, I'll try and find out how others can apply for surveys, and will link it here.

ChubRubTub · 04/09/2020 22:38

@NCforsafety I took it last week. I passed, but no idea what I scored.
Just follow the guidelines exactly, even if it feels strange giving such a high ranking to a query.

lilmishap · 05/09/2020 11:35

@TheLolaMontez I get screened out of tons usually. I got lucky I think.

Carrotgirl87 · 05/09/2020 14:51

Just passed the crisp test and joined the waiting list.. won't hold my breath mind!

TheSeedsOfADream · 05/09/2020 15:47

Well done Carrot!

Anybody doing any Appens on their Chinese site? I've passed two transcription tests and am now waiting for work to show (interface looks like the figure 8 thing)

MrsWombat · 05/09/2020 15:52

Utest: It depends on what they need. Sometimes they will send out surveys to gauge people's availability then cherry-pick what they need. Sometimes they will invite you because you have a device they want to test or because you haven't tested a particular website/app before and they need fresh blood for onboarding. Sometimes it's because the client wants the moon on a stick and the higher level testers have declined because they are working on a better offer and so they are scraping the barrel. I now decline anything that isn't a paid test case, but I will do pretty much anything if someone is throwing money at me. Grin

Hi I have just registered with Neevo and have to do the english language test etc. What kind of work do you get from them and is it worth while?

BlueBirdGreenFence · 05/09/2020 22:22

Hi. I've been lurking here for a lifetime and currently only use Prolific which I think is great. I'm tempted to try Appen as a contractor for a bit. Does anyone work a full time job and do this on top? Would this mess with my tax etc? It suggests that it asks for details but doesn't give any real info... Happy to be DM'd if you can't say on the thread.
