All the links are mucked up from the last thread so I've copied and pasted an old list. Hope they are right and please ask if you want a direct link.
@WotsitWiggle good idea although in this case you'd not get paid for the ones you do in 5-10mins
But I've only wasted a small amount of time. When I started, I spent an hour on a Neevo task and got paid $1.56 😆 If I'd been more aware that it was taking me 3-4 minutes for each task, I'd have bailed sooner and waived the pennies/cents I'd earned.

TheSeedsOfADream · 12/09/2020 13:54

Good god- just had a look at the Appen China test I've been invited to do. Don't even understand the instructions for the test so decided life is too short.
Off to do some potato. Yawn.

lannister · 12/09/2020 14:05

For those that do potato do you just wait for the surges or you just set aside time everyday to crack on. I've noticed that I only make decent money during the surges the rest of the time it's disheartening

scatterbrainedlass · 12/09/2020 14:06

@Horehound

I got a load of payouts from them last week.

I have been invited to the text preference audio job that we all failed. I guess they realised no one passed it and had to do something 😂 you have to complete all four job sections to be paid. I see it's 0.04cent per job not sure if it's worth it

I've done 12 of the 'compare 2 recordings' and been locked out of the job as I don't meet job standards? At least half sounded the same so I put 'no preference'.
Nets888 · 12/09/2020 14:25

I got my first Neevo job. It's a listening job but when I started the task, I couldn't hear any sound. What did I do wrong?

TheSeedsOfADream · 12/09/2020 15:29

I do ten minutes of potato here and there. I open the PC open prolific and potato and keep coming and going tbh.
I had a Eureka moment this week when I realised timing is everything-early morning you pick up the keyboard warrior overnight stuff, ditto following a news show. It was bloody ace when they leaked the thing about 6 people for Covid for example. What I'd been doing was sitting down mid afternoon when mostly, it's slow and nothing juicy coming thick and fast.

MrsWombat · 12/09/2020 16:00

@lannister Yes and no. I normally try and do at least 15 mins whatever first thing in the morning as there is nearly always lots of content around. But if there is a surge it will normally persuade me to stop what I'm doing and jump on if it's not time-sensitive.

I certainly don't jump on unless there's 100+ in the queue as it goes too slow.

Thanks @TheSeedsOfADream
I have joined Appen and will hope I get accepted onto something good!

A few Neevo tasks done today (and also thrown off the comparison ones Confused ). Where on Neevo can you see what you have earned for a job? Or a total balance?

lannister · 12/09/2020 16:45

@MrsWombat thanks for the reply. I might try that, setting aside maybe half an hour each day and hopefully continue jumping on surges. Do you know how people get to work the shifts?

@lannister I’m not sure about shifts, I think you have to be there a while and I guess it’s if they have vacancies too.

@MrsWombat I love it when it's Boris! I imagine MNers tired of bishboshing here going over to "the client" and bishboshing on their FB pages.
When the 6 people thing was announced I was "sorry, need to fire up the PC at 4pm" Grin

Azerothi · 13/09/2020 08:51

@lannister
I know MrsWombat has answered you re: Crisp shifts but I asked Crisp this question a couple of months ago. They told me they advertise in slack and then do a very detailed audit of your work. You have to have been there for at least 3 months. I've been with them for 18 months.

GachaBread · 13/09/2020 08:52

@apierce28 hi cloud worker here. I am being paid 0.10 euros a message but signed up with them last year. I would not work for 0.5 and it looks like to me just another company taking advantage knowing that lots are looking for work with recent events.

GachaBread · 13/09/2020 08:59

@apierce28 also I average a message every 20-25 seconds. Fast typer working 2 hours in morning and 2 hours at night. I also make between £500-£800 a month. Sending 300 messages a day will net you around £730 to £750 after fees and conversion costs. It is doable but not on that rate of 0.5.

DuchessMinnie · 13/09/2020 09:30

Is Prolific really slow for anyone else? I had loads in august but nothing whatsoever in September so far. Qmee is ticking along quite nicely and I'm doing some Streetbees now- thank you to whoever mentioned them. I urgently need to earn about £500 extra but it feels like very hard work to get anything at the moment.

littlegem84 · 13/09/2020 10:06

@DuchessMinnie I've had a bit of success with it over the past two weeks but the last few days have been slow. Gutted I missed the opportunity to do a 30 min £15 one TB ouch yesterday!

TheSeedsOfADream · 13/09/2020 10:09

Prolific is very hit and miss. One day a few weeks ago there were loads and all £3-£4 ones.
Yesterday I saw one for 20p (fuck that) and one for 25p (ditto).

Horehound · 13/09/2020 10:28

I missed the bloody preference sound and what clip is better jobs on neevo. After coming on here to talk about it damn.seems like it must've been completed before I could really get my hands on it. Damn

@Nets888 you can see if you got thrown off a job for poor quality standards by going into work history and looking at that particular job. It will say closed and "work didn't meet quality standards" but in my case I don't have so I think all the jobs are completed.

But we all had issues with this job when it first came out two weeks ago and no one managed to get more than 10 or 20. I think they fixed their issue and maybe everyone just did it

WonderTweek · 13/09/2020 10:35

I got thrown out of that listening preference thing as well. I managed 6 on both again and then got told my work didn't meet quality standards, but I think it's happened before so I'm not taking it personally. Grin

I managed two hours on K**x this morning and I did a bit on Friday too. We'll see what the feedback is like! It's a bit inconvenient when the emails pop up at midnight when I'm about to go to bed. I end up in turmoil thinking I could do a little bit, and wondering if sleep is really necessary. Haha. (I did sleep but luckily the job was still there this morning.)

lynsey91 · 13/09/2020 12:29

I did the listening preference thing before and managed 100 but then it said my work didn't meet standards so I assume I am not getting paid. They had all sounded the same but I marked quite a few as A or B sounding better just because I thought they probably didn't want them all marked the same

Then I did a few yesterday but they still all sounded identical to me so I decided not to carry on as I assume they will say again that I don't meet their standards

ChubRubTub · 13/09/2020 14:39

Just a warning about the China transcription project. I was initially shown an hourly rate for the project. I passed the test and it turns out that rate is for each hour of audio completed, so the rate would be terrible.

I've told them to take me off the project (there are other concerns on the chat about the safety of the software you have to use as well).

DownThePlath · 13/09/2020 15:12

@MrsWombat and @MoreMoneyPlease
Thanks for the heads about T on Appen! I'm looking forward to it.
