My other job has got busy so I've not had much time for working from home, which is annoying as neevo seems to be emailing me loads. (Mostly to remind me to do jobs I started but haven't finished!)

It's been a good month so far though - about £350 which I am pretty happy with.

yes, it mostly involves signing up to trials so you will have to give your details to the relevant companies. Nothing to stop anyone setting up a dedicated email address, phone number etc but I started in March and have not had any problems with spam.

I got booted off the comparison job after 7 on job 1 and 6 on job 2. Listened so carefully to them and most seemed identical. some had some slight differences. No idea what they were looking for

Has anyone else taken the k**x qualification on Appen? I've just failed but I can't for the life of me see how. It was ridiculously easy! I've been offered a retake but I can't see that I would answer anything differently...

I just did it! Failed the first time but then passed after I changed a couple of the answers. You do have to look it up online like it says, and give very literal answers to the questions. I was all cocky at first and thought I knew them but turns out I was wrong.

I applied for K**x but haven't been given a test to do.

On the plus side I'm now on a uTest project so big it's got it's own code name. Never seen that before. £30 for an hours work.

Can I ask about doing a tax return? I did one last year for a freelance job which was paid in £ was wasn't too difficult. This year, however, I've been paid by Neevo/Appen etc in a mix of £, € and $. How do you translate this for your tax return? Do you use the gov exchange rates and just put in a £ figure or do you have to declare it as foreign income? Tried ringing the tax office a few times but having trouble getting through.

I wouldn't mind getting into utest but I created a log in about six months ago and it's not letting me in now. I keep hitting the forgotten password link but nothing happens. I did do quite a lot of the training back in the day and although it was a lot it seemed quite straightforward so it would be nice to get back into it.

@UniversityChallenged I haven't done a tax return yet as I only started making some money in June, but I'm recording everything in pounds. I just convert the euros and dollars and put it all on a spreadsheet. I think it's probably easier that way, but if anyone knows what the correct way would be, I would be interested to hear it. I keep all emails from PayPal etc too, so I can always go back and check the amounts if I need to.

Anyone here on the App** project that sounds a bit like Salad?

@UniversityChallenged use the £ amount you receive in your bank account for the tax return. The rates used by paypal/payoneer are generally lower than the official exchange rates so don't use official rates as you may end up paying tax on money you don't have.

Just wondering if people are finding it as soul destroyingly boring as I am

@Baby89 I'm on Proven. I'm useless at finding bugs unless they are an obvious deviation from a test case so unlikely to progress further anytime soon! Fucking pissed off with Neevo. They say the 14 calls won't be paid due to quality. ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT. since I did another 25 on one job (the max) and 16 on another (the max) and was paid 100% of them

@UniversityChallenged I keep my Payoneer transfer details and that tells you the actual amount paid. I submitted my return last year based on that and it was fine. Paypal can show you exchange rates but I don't have a lot I use PayPal for now. PayPal is usually about 2 cents less and Payoneer about 1.5-2.5. Really peeves me, especially as the rates are so bad at the moment.

@SidVisk Noisy they want noise in the background, youtubes handy I use street sounds or shouty people videos.
They are quite picky about it, so turn it up a bit louder than you feel you need
