It's a brand new month so have started a new thread.

I've had few emails from Neevo over the weekend offering work, however I still haven't received payment for tasks I did at the beginning of May so am giving them a wide berth. Anyone else?

OP posts:
RyanBergarasTeeth · 05/06/2020 22:42

I think i will avoid neevo fully as so many people seem to be having issues with them.

MrsWombat · 06/06/2020 07:14

I've been given some testing tasks for Appen Banner. Not sure how long the data will last but I've managed an hour so far.

Azerothi · 06/06/2020 08:12

@MrsWombat I have too. It seems to be OK so far.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 06/06/2020 08:28

I'm working B**R too, 20 mins so far.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 06/06/2020 08:39

Thanks for the update on "No @Tinging and well done for being paid some more. I haven't though, so I've done as previous posters have suggested and messaged them. Given that I am new(ish) to such tasks I wouldn't have expected to be spot on every time, but that I got a much higher % correct with my very first task (when I was very much learning the ropes) seems not right to me, particularly as I actually found the Aussie accents easier to decipher than some of the British ones!

I think it's significant that they've recently slightly simplified the coding process, don't you think?

And agree that it's better to be booted off a task for not doing it correctly than to spend ages continuing for no pay. I think a 'goodwill' compromise amount should be given (say 0.02 instead of 0.10) for those that aren't quite right but have clearly been amended to the best of ability.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 06/06/2020 08:52

B**R run out now, managed just under an hour. Quite enjoyed it and wasn't a mad rush. Looking forward to the launch.

seizethecuttlefish · 06/06/2020 09:10

Gutted I never got sent a batch to test. It's been a terrible week. One Appen project is down and I can't motivate myself to do Potato at all. Need to have a good chat to myself!

Tinging · 06/06/2020 09:32

@NewModelArmyMayhem18 yes I agree I also found a lot of the Aus accents easier and they tend to speak slower which helps. I think it must be related to the tagging and the changes you mentioned. In a more recent task there were specific examples for background noise which were so minor I wouldn't have thought to tag them.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 06/06/2020 09:42

Some of the audio files are very easy to tag but others are almost impossible with all the stutterings and very strong accents to decipher. And agree about some of the background noise issues (which actually really complicate the tagging in some files).

I had one yesterday that had know at the end of the file. I amended it to now and then relistened several times over. It could have been either given the context. What do they do in situations like that?

BecauseOfIndia · 06/06/2020 10:10

Shocked to see some ofyou are working on B**r. I was under the impression the project had ended. It's gone from my projects. I was obviously kicked off !!! Shock

curdsandwhey · 06/06/2020 11:07

Following a recommendation on here, I have signed up for User Testing and have done my first test, although I have to wait for it to be reviewed as it's the first one. They pay $10, compared to Intellizoom which pays $8. I've also applied for another one called Userfeel, which says they pay $10 too so I'll have to wait and see if anything happens with that.

I still haven't quite brought myself to apply for Clickworker yet. I know I should.

curdsandwhey · 06/06/2020 11:42

Ooh, I've just sold something on EBay! It's the cheapest thing I was selling Grin

rubberplanter84 · 06/06/2020 11:54

With User testing do you need to film yourself or can you do voice recordings only?

ruralwanderer · 06/06/2020 12:32

@curdsandwhey, it's taken me a long time to settle into click worker but I've finally found some tasks that I like and have racked up nearly $23 on UHRS over the last 3 days (turns out midnight is a lucrative time to be on there lol, the baby refusing to sleep had an unexpected benefit 😉)

curdsandwhey · 06/06/2020 20:05

@rubberplanter84 I'm pretty sure it's voice only. In the list of requirements they only list a microphone, not a camera.

Gatekeeper · 07/06/2020 15:35

thank you @seizethecuttlefish and @lilmishap. It's day 7 and I still can't rate anything on N**e. Getting 0 ads on desktop and rating tool also doesn't work on android phone. I know I'm not the only one by a long way looking at all the complaints on chat but it's really frustrating. Raised several tickets but nothing changes

anyone else having trouble?

seizethecuttlefish · 07/06/2020 15:45

@Gatekeeper that's a nightmare. My other project, is the same. A week and I can't do anything. No advice re Nile. You've done everything that usually works. It's one of the many things that rile me about this sort of work, there's no one you can really speak to. Is there much on chat about it?

Gatekeeper · 07/06/2020 15:50

a LOT...everyone with the same issue as me. Replies I have received as a result of me raising a ticket haven't helped- seems like a generic reply which didn't address my problem

Dishevelled09 · 07/06/2020 19:22

@Gatekeeper I was on Ni* last year and the same thing happened a couple of times to me. It was sorted out and I just waited for it to get resolved. I miss Ni*!

Gatekeeper · 07/06/2020 19:28

thank you both...was counting on the bit of income I get from this so am missing it!

527040minutes · 07/06/2020 22:34

I took a break to work out where I'm going, lockdown's not done wonders for my motivation so was questioning if it was worth carrying on! I've got $38 stuck in payoneer from last month as there isn't enough to cash out yet. I'm eager to get going with the freelancing sites, need to get a photo taken tomorrow for my Upwork profile and get some bids in on freelancer. My first test case on utest was accepted last month which was a bit of a boost, I don't feel as scared of it now!

New laptop arriving tomorrow and I'm hoping not using something with a broken screen might make it a bit more of a positive experience overall. Hoping for £100 this month as a kick start and to grow from there. Last month was my biggest so far at $40 so it's still a decent jump!

Sorry to hear people are still struggling with Neevo. Think I'll be giving that a miss based on the experiences here, it must be gutting when you've put the work in!

GachaBread · 08/06/2020 09:57

Tea check jobs on Roamler paying £10 each. Will take approximately 10 minutes to do. On the app now!

lilmishap · 08/06/2020 11:09

I'm on LB version of N*#e I list a fortnight's work once cause the damn thing wasn't having it. They had to get the client to do something I can't remember what though

seizethecuttlefish · 08/06/2020 15:18

I managed most of my Appen project and then caboom, it threw an error. It may be a very quiet week. I've messaged to say what happened and hoping I get paid. Will need to potato tonight.
