Morning all! Starting a new thread as the last one is full.

curdsandwhey · 23/04/2020 10:52

I've finally had my test approved by Intellizoom. So they've sent me several surveys and I've been screened out of all of them Grin

margaritasbythesea · 23/04/2020 10:59

Gatcha - when lockdown first started Rosetta Stone offered 3 months free. It might be worth looking to see if that's still on before paying. I didn't use an app as I found them frustrating.

DH has just found a good website for language exchanges. It's free and you can go in at any level and find a beginner in English to swap with. I'll ask him later.

If you like mind mapping techniques check out Timothy Moser. I found it quite useful in getting going but it's a bit weird.

If you want recomendations for a grammar book I can pm to you obes that have few mistakes (most have loads).

Once I had the basics News in Slow Spanish was good, even just for picking out the few words you do understand.

Later on, El Pais has a free digital edition via an app. Again, just picking out a few words and phrases is good and building vocabulary.

Just let me know if and when you want more.

GachaBread · 23/04/2020 11:04

@margaritasbythesea you my beauty are a diamond 💎. Going to have a look now. Thank you!

curdsandwhey · 23/04/2020 11:09

I have a question about Appen, now that I'm finally ready to apply for something. Do they look at your private social media? What I mean is, there's a project that says you have to have a Facebook account with at least x number of friends, which I do, but I have the strictest privacy settings and wouldn't want anyone else looking at it. I certainly never use the "log in with Facebook" option on any website. What is the situation here?

lynsey91 · 23/04/2020 11:22

I've done 100 of the Neevo tasks but am going to have to stop now as they are driving me mad.

Just about every one of them is wrong. It clearly states that "ok" should be typed "okay" and yet not one of them has the spelling right. They have not put in the uh's and mh's either. Also some of them are so ridiculously wrong I don't know how the person typing them could ever have thought they were correct

rhij86 · 23/04/2020 11:29

@curdsandwhey from recollection only one of the projects I've worked on specifically stated that by signing up you would give permission for the client to have access to your profile for up to 9 months.
So if they do want access, you'll be made aware of it and have to agree to it before you proceed.

Okay I've applied for a few things, and I've been accepted straight away for the one lots of people were complaining about on the previous thread with the pay problem. Is this something to be worried about?

rhij86 · 23/04/2020 12:47

@curdsandwhey not something to be worried about in my opinion. Some people have chosen not to work it any longer due to the issues we had, others like myself have continued as, to be frank, I need the money Grin

There aren't any tasks available at the moment but I would imagine we'll get an email in the next few days with the next task link. Good luck! :)

curdsandwhey · 23/04/2020 12:58

Thank you. I'll give it a try then as it's not like anyone else has offered me any paid work! I really wanted to find solve transcription work but the agencies just aren't taking anyone on. I took a couple of tests for the ones that make you do that and I got rejected.

I have made £14 on Prolific so at least that's something but it's not much really!

TeacupDrama · 23/04/2020 13:06

Now can be a good time to buy a few shares at low prices the price of oil will definitely go up again as will bank stocks

Do you want to get a free stock share worth up to £100? you have to deposit at least £1

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/FMJUEMWE and we both get a free share!

Boobahs · 23/04/2020 13:48

Has anyone else had an email from Lionbridge this morning to say they can't pay you through WorkMarket because your account is on hold and to reset it? I've been on and mine isn't on hold at all! I've toggled it and emailed them back so I hope it gets sorted!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 23/04/2020 15:45

If anyone is interested in Swagbucks I have a referral link.

www.swagbucks.com/refer/RPSLSpock

It is surveys, offers etc and you earn vouchers or can transfer to paypal.

dirtyfries · 23/04/2020 16:55

I've had a email today about LB mapping. I'll be receiving the exam link on Monday. I seem to remember some debate about this before - is this something people are generally avoiding? The exam looks very time consuming and there's no details on work volume/rates if I do pass

dirtyfries · 23/04/2020 16:57

@curdsandwhey I've just been accepted on that project too - my first on Appen. I'll be giving it a go when there's more work available. Fingers crossed for us! Smile

Fizbo · 23/04/2020 20:37

Hi have any of the new potatoes got their Kli*!olio log ins yet? I'm working my way through tasks ( very slowly! ) but would love to know roughly what I'm earning 😬

Dimsummummy · 23/04/2020 21:22

Hi @Fizbo I’ve just started and have mine. I made £2 an hour first day, £4 an hour second day and £5 an hour today. I haven’t seen any surges yet though and the queues have never got much over 100, so I’ve had waiting in between. That’s with 2 queues open and being worked though, am wondering how feasible it is to increase further... ?

PonkyTonk · 23/04/2020 22:24

@Dimsummummy do you know roughly how many items you did for £5 an hour please?

I'm dipping my toe in and finding content low so not getting much to work on.

It's all new and a bit scary so far.

AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion · 23/04/2020 22:41

Ahh, I've found you all 😆
I'm making rubbish money at the moment!
I've just signed up to Topcashback and they've started me off on the Premium membership which apparently gives me access to higher rates of return and more offers for an annual charge of £5. However, I've been given the option to change to the Classic membership within 30 days for which there'll apparently be no charge - not that £5 is much.

Has anyone tried one or the other and can advise me which membership to follow up?

Also, does Intellizoom require you to film yourself?

P.S. @GachaBread - you are immense Thanks

SpirallingThroughAnotherDay · 23/04/2020 23:23

Checking in Smile thanks for the new thread.

MrsWombat · 24/04/2020 07:47

Checking in for the new thread.

I've been doing the potato place on and off for a week now and really enjoying it. I'm obviously not going to make my fortune as I'm not able to ignore my family at the super busy times when the tasks come thick and fast and I've not been around for a surge. I think I'll be lucky to make £40 a month! However, I can sit down with a cup of coffee and do it one-handed whilst eating my breakfast/lunch, or during the super slow times, I can do my Appen task on my phone then switch when a potato task comes up. If I ever get invited to do shift work then that's a guaranteed rate per hour though.

I don't think they had shifts this time last year when we joined the waiting list. They had surges instead so people were making lots of money by being online at the right time which was what we were all jealous about. I'm currently making far more money per hour from my Appen projects but those won't last forever so I'm going to persevere with the potato place and hope I get a bit quicker.

Madre77 · 24/04/2020 07:51

April is a right off for me. Sad just can't get anything done. Come LO bedtime I feel resentful that I can't have me time so ensues a catch 22. Anyway onwards and upwards.

@GachaBread you rock. So pleased for you as I have been following you for a while on here and wondered how you were coping. ❤️

PigintheShitty · 24/04/2020 08:21

My BiL has been doing Crisp for a year or so, and does shifts. I have just been accepted but apparently it's pretty rubbish if you dont get shifts as ppi is hit or miss, you can sit for minutes with no content if the que is low. Even if you have shifts it's got practically impossible to get a decent number. It's definately not the holy grail everyone here seems to think, for most at least. I don't even know how you managed £5 in an hour at the moment @dimsummummy you must have got lucky.

0htooooodles · 24/04/2020 09:21

@PigintheShitty Shifts are only difficult at the moment due to the current situation. They do add shifts throughout the day and evening though!

GachaBread · 24/04/2020 09:40

@Madre77 thanks chic. Doing much better. Totally get you on the money making as it's the same here for me. I said I was going to hammer CW this month but saying it and doing it are two different things. Lockdown has destroyed routine in my house, kids are going to bed a lot later and my time to do my things has gone right out the window. By the time everyone settles my motivation has gone, and I am drained and 9 times out of 10 just end up going to sleep. I have to keep telling myself that this will not be be forever.

I think Apr/May are just over for me in terms in making anything decent. But the Spanish is going good and the little ones in my clan love running around taking the piss repeating the words I am learning. Got a mad house here!
