@lilmishap ah that's crap Sad

DontCallMeDarling · 27/03/2020 12:13

@Catatemyhomework I hope I'm wrong but I suspect it means that they are going to screw some people over and don't want people sharing the details. Fingers crossed I am being paranoid.

justtheonethen · 27/03/2020 12:49

It is a bit suspect that they have disabled the chat Hmm

justtheonethen · 27/03/2020 12:51

@DarkPassenger the work chat is disabled

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 27/03/2020 12:56

Perhaps people are discussing payments. I know that some countries get much less than we do for doing exactly the same job.

Seems very unfair but I guess it would mess with the economy or something and all the Appen workers would be millionaires!

justtheonethen · 27/03/2020 13:14

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I did wonder why they haven't done a separate one for each market.

toastytea · 27/03/2020 13:36

Oh wow now I'm worried about pay after reading this thread!!

Catatemyhomework · 27/03/2020 13:44

@DontCallMeDarling, when you say screw people over, do you mean not pay them? That's worrying. I really hope not.
Has anyone had the correct hours for B**e added to their invoice yet? I still haven't.

DontCallMeDarling · 27/03/2020 17:05

@Catatemyhomework I am sure they will pay but perhaps less than people expect but honestly I don't know and could be completely wrong. I'm just surprised they shut a chat down. Maybe they didn't like what was being said on it?

anxiouswaiting · 27/03/2020 17:56

No B* houra on my invoice still either. I have screenshots as well as my spreadsheet of hours so will be really annoyed if they try and pay me for less than I've done. I think shutting down chat is really dodgy!

Catatemyhomework · 27/03/2020 20:06

Received email about invoices so hopefully all will be ok.

toastytea · 27/03/2020 20:58

Anyone doing san** I've got the test to do but don't want to waste time if there's no work?

ifuckarses · 27/03/2020 21:05

@toastytea have you managed to get the guidelines for the test for San? Just keeps referring back to the project page when I click on it.

tootyfruitypickle · 28/03/2020 06:41

Fingers crossed for B* invoices.

Stupid question alert....If the payment is for March but goes into our accounts in April, does it count as this tax year or next?

It’s the only extra I’ve earned this tax year as only signed up for appen inJan- but hoping for more next year. So I’m going to start recording my payments for tax purposes’for tax year 20-21 , is it enough just to keep a monthly list, will that make it easy enough to fill in the tax return?

toastytea · 28/03/2020 07:02

@ifuckarses I've just done it - so there aren't guidelines and there's no big test. Just proceed with qual and it asks for basic info!

justtheonethen · 28/03/2020 07:13

@tootyfruitypickle I would put it as next tax year.
I am curious as to how figure 8 tracks time as their email seems to say that if you aren't actively rating in it/are looking at another webpage (which was part of the job Hmm) etc then you aren't getting paid.

toastytea · 28/03/2020 07:34

@justtheonethen I know! Surely they mean if people are counting reading guidelines as part of hours worked. At least I hope so! How many of you kept track of hours?

justtheonethen · 28/03/2020 07:39

@toastytea they must do, they can't only record the time you click the button else my work would add up to about 60 seconds total 🤣

justtheonethen · 28/03/2020 07:39

I kept track of hours

Lougle · 28/03/2020 08:16

Has anyone done auditing for B*? I've just been sent a link. It says it's due to my exemplary work on the project, but I only did about 4 hours.

Suebnm · 28/03/2020 09:05

@Lougle

I got the same link and if you click on it it takes you to the work page in F8 with far, far less time to complete it.

justtheonethen · 28/03/2020 10:42

Anyone having problems getting onto N!le?

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 28/03/2020 10:44

I got the auditing link too, live emailed them about it as it looks wrong.

girlicorne · 28/03/2020 11:15

@tootyfruitypickle i have been self employed since 2011 and I have always taken it to be when it was earned, so if it was earned within this tax year regardless of when it is paid it needs to be declared as earnings for the current tax year. i my be wrong however but I m sure I got this information from an HMRC self assessment course I went on when I first started.

I got the link for the b auditing too, I only did about an hour though before the work ran out. I have done an hour on the auditing this morning, but there is so much less time to do it! I quite like the project though so will see if there is still work left later as I have done my maximum hours for the week on O**k already!

MrsWombat · 28/03/2020 12:02

Hello everyone hope you are all well. I've lost motivation with everything that's going on and can't focus on much. I'm very grateful that I'm getting full pay for my day job and I only have to virtually cover the office one day a week with the kids under my feet. I'm trying to do Tru* O 5 days a week and I've been working on Oz but nowhere near the required quota. The uTest project I was on has finished early too.
