Essentially paid to flirt/sexy chat, I can't claim to be too knowledgable about these two!

Fivver/upwork/guru

Paid 'to do' sites. You can offer normal services on the latter two, or do odd things like sell a video of you clipping your toenails on Fivver.

I hope map analyst pays well as I’m sitting the exam!

ElasticFirecracker · 07/03/2020 19:41

@Flube Are you actually paid £9.30 per hour that you work, or are you paid per task?

I'm paid per task and there's an amount of time suggested per task, but they take me longer. I was hopeful of being able to speed up but I keep having to learn new task types (very hard) and am being switched between types, so haven't been able to speed up. I'm wondering if this is normal for the first month or so?

Flube · 07/03/2020 19:48

@ElasticFirecracker Paid per hour, not per task. Well I say per hour as that is what my paperwork says, but we actually log minutes worked on the timesheet.

We do have an estimated time limit per task though and are expected to not exceed that.

Flube · 07/03/2020 19:55

As an example, if a task is estimated to take 10mins (I've just made that up) then it would be expected that I'll complete 6tasks per hour, however sometimes I will complete more than that as they don't all take as long. But even if I complete more tasks in that hour I will still be paid the same hourly rate.

Tinging · 07/03/2020 20:05

@ElasticFirecracker I'm doing MA too and probably for the same amount of time as you but I'm nowhere near as fast as the recommended times and don't see how I will ever be if I check everything properly. Also having the same issue as you with loads of new task types and I am really questioning whether to stick it out once the enhanced beginner pay drops as I doubt I'll manage over £5 an hour without being a bit slapdash!

ElasticFirecracker · 07/03/2020 20:10

@ZetaPuppis it depends how quick you are, as you are not paid for your time, but per task - it's piece work. I'm just hoping I can speed up and get a reasonable rate of pay.

Good luck with the exam, it's a lot of work.

Flube · 07/03/2020 20:11

Oh that sounds awful Tinging. I hope things improve for you and Elastic, doesn't sound worth it otherwise.

lilmishap · 07/03/2020 20:31

@Lougle I avoided io as a lot of reviews said people weren't being paid have you had a payment yet?

Tinging · 07/03/2020 20:33

Thanks @Flube, I got an email from Appen today to say I've passed the beginner checks so hopefully will get something more lucrative on there soon!

Lougle · 07/03/2020 20:47

Oh really, @lilmishap. That's interesting. I haven't done anything for them yet, but I've had over 30 invitations since yesterday.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/03/2020 20:57

Hi all. I am getting nothing on B at all. It's driving me mad, my Figure Eight never shows a thing. Been doing some Neevo but its not got a lot of tasks showing. I did have a very nice 0.15 dollar task but only managed 6 before it was gone. I have loads on Appen, just In Progress. Loving Crisp though. Not making a fortune but its bringing me in enough. Can't thank @otterses* enough for this thread. Its brilliant. I stopped checking in a couple of months ago when it was all MB etc, just didn't have the same friendly feel. I think I need to broaden my work though and do a few different things.
Happy Saturday all.

toastytea · 07/03/2020 21:04

@seizethecuttlefish same, I lost interest in the thread when it was all matched betting. Where did they all go?!

ZetaPuppis · 07/03/2020 21:19

How disappointing re the map analyst. It’s so hard to even pass the exam for that. I would be slow as I like to check everything. Such a shame.

justtheonethen · 07/03/2020 22:03

@seizethecuttlefish there isn't any work on b@ne at the moment. Hopefully tomorrow but most likely Monday I expect.

justtheonethen · 07/03/2020 22:03

@seizethecuttlefish totally agree, apart from anything else the MB talk was boring as fuck Grin

seizethecuttlefish · 07/03/2020 22:31

Sorry I was all in bold. Clearly I'm over excited! How are you @justtheonethen?
I've been told I've got work on another 2 projects but doesn't look like there's anything coming through. I'm keeping busy though.
Yep, that was a weird phase the thread went through. Glad we're back to our old happy selves.

ilovepixie · 07/03/2020 23:44

What's B**e please?

ZetaPuppis · 08/03/2020 01:32

I’ve had one of my best days in ages.
I made £8 Hmm

Suebnm · 08/03/2020 06:27

@ilovepixie

It is a great project on Appen.

Help! I am SO frustrated with test io. I've submitted a really good bug, best I've ever found, but it got rejected because my video doesn't show the date and I didn't describe the actual results correctly. Now it's been fixed, I can't redo the video for the same bug. Currently googling how to display the date on my browser, with no luck.

Urgh, I am so frustrated. I thought I was becoming really good at this testing thing, now back to square one feeling like an idiot.

ElasticFirecracker · 08/03/2020 10:11

@ZetaPuppis Don't be disheartened, I have definitely speeded up since I started, and there are one or two tasks I have done faster than the allotted time, it's just an awful lot to learn.

20Newnames · 08/03/2020 10:30

Just seen this thread. Have never heard of Appen, and saw above that it is hourly paid. Can anyone tell me what rate it is paid at?

Thanks

lilmishap · 08/03/2020 11:28

Is anyone doing truckee on APPEN and SME on LB?

Otterses · 08/03/2020 11:35

@20Newnames

It's generally $14 per hour, some work on there is are a different rate or on a pay per item sort of scale Smile
