Just bookmarking this thread as I've not been following it. I haven't done anything for about four weeks (money making wise) because I've been sleeping so much. I'm getting emails all the time from Neevo and Appen but have had no energy to do any of the work. I don't know what's wrong with me!

Catatemyhomework · 06/03/2020 18:36

@ZetaPuppis, you might still be able to apply for B* on Appen. I only applied last week and working on it now.
Managed 6 hours on B* today. It's certaininly been an enlightening experience!

Lougle · 06/03/2020 18:47

Is that an hourly paid thing, @Catatemyhomework, or task based?

ZetaPuppis · 06/03/2020 18:48

I’m doing an LB exam which is why I’m not going for Appen. I worked my arse off for it, failed because I’d been ill and couldn’t finish it within the deadline so I’m just waiting to resit.

What kind of work is test.io?

Catatemyhomework · 06/03/2020 18:55

@Lougle it's hourly paid, $14. It's great! Well done on Test.io BTW. I haven't done much testing this week, but will try and get back to it over the weekend.
@ZetaPuppis, I have just been invited to sit an exam for LB but going to wait now as may be a conflict with Appen. Plus I can't face studying for the exam. Good luck with yours!

Lougle · 06/03/2020 19:12

@ZetaPuppis test.io is a software testing site.

@Catatemyhomework I might take a look.

TheMamaYo · 06/03/2020 19:13

@Lougle, that's fantastic! I am so pleased for you, really.

@MoreMoneyPlease, I am in the same boat as you. Got one rejected, waiting for the other one to be checked, now can't find a thing on the new websites. I am just a little bit gutted. How did you get on since your last post?

DarkPassenger · 06/03/2020 19:13

Thanks BertieBotts

And now I log into Neevo and my work history is still showing 166 completed tasks when I did more earlier that took me up to 188. And last weeks batch still shows 12 instead of the 98 I did.

At least uTest is going well and I have 5 processes I've applied for on Appen so maybe I'll hear something back from them soon.

ZetaPuppis · 06/03/2020 19:15

@Lougle is test.io better than utest?

Lougle · 06/03/2020 19:27

I don't know yet, @ZetaPuppis. I think the interface is a bit prettier...it seems a bit more geared up for newbies, I think. I've been told that I start at a rank that indicates I'm new, so I'll get a bit more help with my reports. But I haven't started any testing yet because extended family dramas have got in the way and I'm a bit busy with UTest.

I'll keep you all posted.

GachaBread · 06/03/2020 19:36

@Lougle glad to see you are a lot better then yesterday. I knew you would do well with it. This is definitely something that I can see you going far with. Keep it up chic ❤️

ZetaPuppis · 06/03/2020 20:01

Thanks for that info. Does it pay well? I know beggars can’t be choosers but I’d love something thAt works out a bit more than £4 an hour.

BertieBotts · 06/03/2020 20:22

So far on uTest if I count the time I've spent on the academy it works out at around $14 per hour.

Lougle · 06/03/2020 20:43

Thanks @Gachabread 😘

I think it's obviously going to be variable. I had a cycle recently where I logged 14 bugs in one evening. They are just starting to be approved and so far have all been approved as very valuable. So that was a good day's work, fairly easy, enjoyable and I reckon it will work out well.

Other times, I have spent a good few hours and found nothing. So it isn't something to go for if you want guaranteed money, but it is fun, I think and you get better over time.

fanniee · 06/03/2020 21:02

Wow. Some great amounts on here.

I'm on £145 for my free shares now, not quite the £200 pp is on but I'm getting there.

www.trading212.com/invite/FMO8bzWf

I'd be very grateful if anyone uses my link and we'll both get a free share. They come through quite quickly too.

MoreMoneyPlease · 06/03/2020 21:07

@TheMamaYo I haven't got back on test.io yet. All I could find earlier was some foreign language text which I think was just a content bug so didn't report it, maybe I should have? Everything else seemed to work perfectly!

However, did a great job for Testbirds this afternoon, very easy £40. Moved onto B**e for the rest of the evening now (hopefully!)

Lougle · 06/03/2020 21:16

Ooh I haven't even looked at Testbirds! It's all too much excitement.

rhij86 · 06/03/2020 21:28

I've put in about 8.5hours on Bne today. Amazed there is still work! Not complaining though.
Will be interested to see if there's anything left in the morning, and if we hear anything about B
nner...

justtheonethen · 06/03/2020 21:29

@rhij86 I've done the same amount. Praying there will be work tomorrow but I doubt it.

MoreMoneyPlease · 06/03/2020 21:33

@Lougle My referral code if you haven't already signed up nest.testbirds.com/home/tester?t=77795766-ef73-4dee-a70a-f99557cc1efe (no money for me, but I get community points whatever they are!)

Lougle · 06/03/2020 21:37

Haha, @MoreMoneyPlease, I love that! I'll definitely use it if I sign up.

MoreMoneyPlease · 06/03/2020 21:42

@Lougle I've only done a couple of jobs on Testbirds, but I find the layout and instructions really easy compared to other testing sites!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/03/2020 21:44

Just signed up for my first test cycle on uTest. Help. It looks quite techy. Do I need to be an it wizard. Logging bugs sounds very hard and I've even done the academy bit. Just a bit apprehensive of getting them wrong!

Lougle · 06/03/2020 22:08

Hi @MrsArchchancellorRidcully don't panic and take it slowly.

Bug logging is easy:

  1. Find a bug, then recreate it and film it (I use screencast-o-matic)
  2. Check that nobody else has already filed it.
  3. Think of a short way of describing it for the title.
  4. Copy the bug reporting guidelines word for word for the title. Sometimes you can write 'Windows 10/Chrome' and other times you might need to use brackets, square brackets, etc. Just copy the example you are given.
  5. Write a step by step guide to recreate the bug.
  6. Add video/ screenshots as required.
MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/03/2020 22:29

Thanks Lougle I think I may have boobed on my first go as I've signed up to the O2 app cycle and there's a massive spreadsheet with lots of data but I'm not actually sure what the heck I need to do. I think I get bug logging but this spreadsheet is a bit ranting and I'm not even sure I need to complete it!

Apart from bug logging how do they usually tell you what to do?
