Just catching up with the thread and Nurses cancer posts have me raging.
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year. On one of my first hospital appointments I got chatting to a woman who had also just been diagnosed. We kept in contact during our treatments and she became a real support to me and I hope I was to her.
I'm recovering. She passed away last week.
I am not still alive because I was 'more positive' than her. It's not because I 'wanted to beat it' more. It's not because I drank aloe shite.
It's because I was lucky. That's all. I was diagnosed earlier and my cancer wasn't as advanced.
Any suggestion that people who survive cancer are 'stronger and braver' than those who don't is fucking disgusting and an actual medical professional sharing the sort of shit that Nurse does should be struck off.
