So does anyone on here who is lucky enough to get a bonus or gift of money from their employer get told how to spend it?!

What gives FL the right to tell the supposedly" independent business owners" (yeah, right) how to spend their money?!

If you're your own boss then surely nobody can tell you how to spend it......oh yes, of course, once again proof that you're not your own boss

Bluewavescrashing · 09/10/2019 09:20

DH gets an annual bonus each April, usually around the 10k mark. We spend it on holidays and home improvements but it's 100% our decision what to spend it on!

MLMsuperfan · 09/10/2019 12:24

Broke's out of the CBD business following a mental breakdown and hospital admission at the weekend. Sincerely; get well soon, Broke. Please leave MLM behind entirely and find a more stable outlet for your efforts, be it drugs councellor or something else.

SSDGM · 09/10/2019 12:31

Wig’s doing a C9. She says it’s “disgusting”.

Gotmychocolateimgood · 09/10/2019 12:33

No shit, Wig!

JasperRising · 09/10/2019 12:38

Thinking about it the new FL tablets are genius (for the owners). Tell your reps that they can work their business from their phones, then sell them a product to help filter out blue light from being on their phones all the time...

Norma27 · 09/10/2019 12:54

Yawn is starting to get some muscle definition. I would have hoped that started ages ago with the amount of time she reckons she spends at the gym!

acatcalledjohn · 09/10/2019 14:44

Get well soon indeed, Broke. Hopefully you will see that all this MLM crap is a major contributor to your MH breakdown.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 09/10/2019 15:08

Jasper haha good point!!

Spongebobette · 09/10/2019 15:10

Poor Broke. I wish he’d get a job stacking shelves or something, it would be a steady income with sick pay and holiday pay. And he wouldn’t have to manufacture all that positivity that you have to in MLMs. I’m sure that’s not helped his mental health

SSDGM · 09/10/2019 15:17

Broke has a real problem with authority (Bosses, doctors, police, etc) so doing a job where he’s at the bottom of the pile really wouldn’t suit him. Pretending to be a CEO is pretty much all he can do so he doesn’t feel like he’s a small fish in a big pond. I’m sorry this has happened to him and hope he will finally get some meaningful help. I’m hoping his ex is ok with the kids too. It can’t be easy for her. I’m thinking he was very unpleasant to have around.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 09/10/2019 15:23

BBL also posted fairly recently about ending up in hospital after a mental breakdown Sad

I know mental health problems are not exclusive to MLMs but I'm pretty sure that the stresses and pressures around MLMs don't help.

A lot of bots who have got out have spoken about how they were worried that they were failing, that it was their fault, that they had pressure put on them. There's also been talk of bullying in some cases.

Plus of course MLMs don't provide the sick pay and support that you would get from an HR department/employer (eg. returning to work on reduced hours, amended duties, access to a counsellor or works health scheme ).

I hope too that this will be a wake-up call to Broke.

JackDelaney · 09/10/2019 17:07

I think that MLM is a toxic influence and is responsible for destroying countless people's lives.

I feel so sorry for parents of those young people who get sucked into MLM at the time of their life when they are exploring different possible directions, only to get caught up in an MLM and have their entire personality, mindset and outlook on life completely derailed and destroyed by MLM's toxic influence.

One minute they're a normal thinking person and then they become a cookie cutter "Boss Babe", with all the stereotype characteristics that a boss babe has.

One minute they have strong relationships with friends and family who love them and want the best for them, the next minute they are pushing away these people and throwing themselves deep into culty MLM self-development books that push them further and further into a delusional mindset.

I see reps who have gone past the point of no return and they're not even in their 30s yet. They are completely stuck in the MLM mindset, living and breathing it every single minute of every day, alienated from their friends and family, surrounded only by their MLM friends. I can't imagine how isolating and confusing this world would be, especially when they are not making money but forced to project the appearance that they are.

In summary, I totally think that MLM is a cause of mental illness.

Whiterangey · 09/10/2019 17:36

Horrible situation, I hope he is okay for his children's sake.

When you are in an MLM you are not allowed to be anything but positive, your mindset has to be positive and everything has to be rosy all of the time. That isn't healthy for anyone. We all have problems, we all need a shoulder to cry on sometimes. None of us are super duper strong.

Given that financial insecurity goes alone with participation in an MLM scheme, that will be a huge source of stress for bots and one they cannot talk to anyone else about as they have to make sure that everyone thinks they are earning lots.

Broke also needs to stop smoking, not good when you have mental health issues.

Mielabel · 09/10/2019 18:22

I was someone in my twenties sucked into MLM and completely agree with the above. It ruined my social circle, job prospects and mental health. All the pretense, block on anything but positivity and the idea that thoughts cause your future (a worry can bring what you worry about) ended up with me getting OCD and panic attacks, terrified that I would sabotage myself somehow by thinking the wrong things.

All this is backed up by what they tell you in MLM and followed years of stress, making no money, avoiding real jobs because that would mean failure and loss of support from the team, forcing myself to see every person as a prospect and bring hooked on a drip of mindset coaching and Law of Attraction (which I now see as dangerous as it’s exactly the same as an OCD related phenomenon called ‘magical thinking’).

I’m alright now- managed to get on my feet and get a good job somehow, thanks to THIS THREAD (an early one). So if anyone wonders if it does any good- yes. I wouldn’t have left MLM, would be skint and on medication for anxiety, no friends outside MLM, at home stressed all day and wouldn’t even have met my husband or friends as I met them all at work once I joined the real world.

Gotmychocolateimgood · 09/10/2019 18:40

BBL seems to have a lot on her plate. Two young children, a shop with microblading, hair services, clothes and she seems to run juice plus events from there too. All the stock ordering, accounts, tax etc must be a nightmare. She's a single mum and is also keeping up the juice plus game too. No wonder she's feeling swamped.

She'd do well to drop juice plus as she obviously has skills in beauty therapy and is qualified. She isn't afraid of hard graft and she's got the premises to operate from. I'm not a fan of the tacky clothes but it's got to be better than trying to recruit for mlm in the current climate.

Jonsey32 · 09/10/2019 18:44

I’ve always felt a bit on the fence re: broke.
I actually willed him on when he got a proper job once and was leaving the MLM life behind. Of course he soon got sacked.
I agree totally with what someone above said that he has a problem with authority.
He’s got all those beautiful babies to take care of and you’re right a job in a supermarket would be better than the very little he must make relentlessly chasing the MLM dream.
Good luck broke! Take some time to sort out yourself and your priorities!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 09/10/2019 19:09

I see Uber's sis has qualified for Australia.

Yet in Stockholm all she got was a sad yoga mat .

Does anyone remember the reveal of the amount...she was none too happy IIRC and we were replaying the clip to try and work out what she was saying as she stomped off camera

Broke needs to sort out his attitude. Little does he know that authority isn't always a bad thing.

In summary, I totally think that MLM is a cause of mental illness.

It absolutely is.

Bluewavescrashing · 09/10/2019 20:23

Nurse's latest mental health based post is really sad.

acatcalledjohn · 09/10/2019 20:24

I can't see anything on Nurse's pages?

Sadly just been sent to a new village Christmas market advertised.

Blurb says looking for local businesses, gifts, crafts. Seems to imply charitable donations for raffle etc and then .... we already have Forever Living and Body Shop and do not want to duplicate.

Suspect it may be a bot who has organised it.

Also saw some Aloe Vera body lotion - apparently it’s quite nice and is a quid from Lidl.
