Does anyone know when we can expect an Appen Global payment????

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 10:26

@whatthewhatthewhat

Have you contacted Appen Global. I seem to have been paid for a job I did on Global via Appen Connect. It was added to my invoice after I submitted it. The job was Fletcher/202 which I did on both sites. I raised a ticket on Global about 3 weeks ago.

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 10:27

@SNISR

I thought Rater Labs was the same as Appen Connect. Is it a different entity doing the same work?

whatthewhatthewhat · 04/09/2019 10:43

@Wolfff yeah, they're not very helpful!

Were you paid today?

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 10:56

No but a payment for Fletcher was added to my Connect invoice after I submitted it. Assume it is that or otherwise a mistake as they already paid me for Fletcher last month.

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 10:58

Re Rater Labs - looks like you cannot sign up for that and Appen Connect. It said my email was already registered. Looking at comments on Reddit, it appears to be another co that was taken over by Appen and staff were told to chose one or the other.

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock thanks, I used your link and invitation code. If anyone wants to use mine, it’s

I applied to join lionbridge as I’ve been waiting forever on crisp with no luck and DH is already on Appen connect so I can’t join that and my maternity pay stops on Friday. I have to start the exams today. I’m returning to work in October but as it’s going to be part time, I need the extra cash.
Thanks for the new post and I hope September will be a good month money wise

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 11:46

Does anyone know how long it takes for projects to come through on Appen Global? I have two speech ones that I am not eligible for - one is for elderly people and the other for children, DD can only say baba dada and mama and some other babblings, which I don't think would be suitable...

I am working my way through the qualification quizzes, just wondered how long I might be waiting for projects on this one.

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 11:51

TBH I think Appen Global is a waste of time. I spent a day or so doing the tests and the only project I picked up was identical to Fletcher on Appen Connect. I registered maybe 6 weeks ago and nothing else has come up apart from the spin offs you mention.

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 11:58

Oh, really? That's a bit of a shame Sad I was hoping they would turn out to be a nice little earner... Will just have to see what happens with that one then, I suppose.

Wolfff · 04/09/2019 12:04

Just before I joined I read about a nice little project on there but it seems to have been short term. Perhaps check in every day and see if there is anything new.

Moremoneyplease · 04/09/2019 13:26

I've been reading through all these threads with great interest. Thanks for the amazing ideas! I work p-t but up until the summer also had a small social media job which made up my money. Now I'm desperate! Unfortunately my laptop is buggered so am stuck with my phone until I can get it fixed/make enough for a new one.

After years of scoffing and saying I'd never get PPI, I finally did 8 PPI complaints in the last week (through MSE) and one has already come back to say we did have it so they're investigating! Fingers crossed.

I have also signed up for a few of the survey sites, cash back etc. I did the one for the snack bars using the link the PP posted. I bought two of the bars but I think they only let you do one review so I did the other with a different email address. I'll update if I get paid for these!

Looking at MB but it scares me!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 04/09/2019 14:21

If anybody is interested i have a little blog that i have started putting money making ideas on. I'm very new to blogging so hope it's useful. I'm not making money from it or anything!

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock thank you, will have a read 🙂

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 14:47

Question for those who work for appen connect or global - do you all get paid through Payoneer?

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 14:54

The reason I ask is that payoneer are SO expensive - they took over half of my money earned it barely makes it worth doing the tasks in the first place.

I emailed Appen about this to see if there was a different method of which to be paid, they responded with:

"Hi Lola,
Thank you for your e-mail. The only payment provider supported by Appen Connect is Payoneer. The method in which you choose to withdraw your funds is at your own discretion." (etc etc)

What do they mean by method of withdrawing funds? Do they mean from Payoneer? I am confused.

Anyone have any ideas?

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 04/09/2019 14:56

Yes I think they mean from Payoneer. Mine goes from there to my bank account. The take a flat rate of 3 USD and then inflate the exchange rates a bit. I still earn roughly £10 after all that which I am happy with. Better pay than my actual part time job!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 04/09/2019 14:57

That should say £10 per hour!

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 15:00

What projects are you doing on there (if you don't mind me asking?)

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 04/09/2019 15:33

Nile is ongoing and i've also done Fletcher and Amur which are one offs.

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 15:57

All mine are still in progress, they've been that way for months Sad only done fletcher and Noyo. Hopefully something will come through soon!

DontCallMeDarling · 04/09/2019 16:01

@TheLolaMontez
With appen global, nothing new has appeared for a while and from my own experience you just have to keep checking and looking out for emails.
I have 14 projects in progress with connect, I get the odd email which asks me to sign things and confirm information or even do the test and then nothing again Confused. It just seems to be their way!!!

TheLolaMontez · 04/09/2019 16:04

Oh I tell a lie, I was accepted for the crescent micro tasks one on Connect, which has been fine and quite nice to have a change.

I have worked that today until there was nothing left on there to do and now I'm a bit stumped as to what to work on next.
Perhaps some cash back websites or something.
Prolific has been very quiet today, only had one survey.
Started doing some swagbucks surveys but they do seem to take a while and many tell me I'm not eligible after a lengthy filling out process.
