Glad it's not just me! (Dashboard)

I like to see what I've done - keeps me motivated! 🤣

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 27/08/2019 12:48

I agree about the dashboard. Actually mine is always at least a day behind, usually two.

ChubRubTub · 27/08/2019 12:54

I've seen people say they apply for everything on their Appen list, even if they don't have the right qualifications.

I've got a couple in my list that require a degree subject that I don't have (linguistics). Do you apply for these anyway?

Countrygirl38 · 27/08/2019 12:57

Is anyone on here working with Cloud workers at the moment? What exactly does it entail? Is all the chat sex related?

whatthewhatthewhat · 27/08/2019 15:10

I keep checking every hour, on the hour... nothing yet 😢

CatHopeful · 27/08/2019 16:30

My dashboard has finally updated, which is good. Except there's an entire day's data missing - only about £4 or £5, but still... If it doesn't update accurately overnight then I'll have to get on to them.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 27/08/2019 16:32

I don't apply for Appen projects if it is specific. I have one that needs an MSC that i don't have and another that requires Windows when i have a Mac. I would not apply for them as it seems wrong and i worry that i would be found out.
I apply for all the other that don't have specific requirements though!

whatthewhatthewhat · 27/08/2019 16:48

@CatHopeful me too! 😢

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 27/08/2019 19:01

Yay, got 1 friend verified on gener8. Just need 1 more then i can tell you all if it's worth doing lol!

Placemarking so I can have a proper read of this later (my watch tab seems to not work on my phone)

anxiouswaiting · 27/08/2019 20:04

My Crisp dashboard has updated to show yesterday now, but Sunday is missing. Anyone else?

whatthewhatthewhat · 27/08/2019 21:28

@anxiouswaiting I think EVERYONE else 🤣

Sparklfairy · 28/08/2019 01:56

CatHopeful and others, why do you need to 'get onto them' and chase the missing data? It always updates eventually and is always dead accurate. I feel sorry for them getting endless pointless support requests. It doesn't affect your earnings so there's no need to nag them Hmm

CatHopeful · 28/08/2019 08:52

Sparklfairy No need for the eyeroll. By 'get on to them', I meant send a polite email. I have no idea if it updates eventually - I've only had dashboard access since last month and have never had this happen - a short lag between updates yes, but never an update that fails to include an entire day. Until I logged on this morning, I had no idea other people were having the same issue - and how would any person know that unless they were also a member of this thread? I think it's reasonable to ask in those circumstances and hardly constitutes nagging.

FloofenHoofen · 28/08/2019 09:09

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I applied to ones that required all sorts as well and still got on two of them.

Wouri required a MAC I only have windows and did some work on it, they didn't care.

And more recently Pecwan-EQ required you to be on the main project Pecwan before you can work on it, but I applied for it, passes the exam and now I'm working on it 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I don't think they check, apply for everything would be my advice.

whatthewhatthewhat · 28/08/2019 09:10

@CatHopeful 👍🏻

justtheonethen · 28/08/2019 09:15

@CatHopeful totally agree. It does tell you to email them if anything unexpected is on your dashboard. It's not nagging, and I don't feel sorry for them, they aren't working there as volunteers Grin.

Sparklfairy · 28/08/2019 11:16

Cat it wasn't aimed solely at you, I just don't understand. People can see there's a delay on here because other posters have the same issue. It's been mentioned that it's probably due to the bank holiday. I guess my point is that they are aware of the issue, I don't see how sending them an email is gonna hurry anything up. The dashboard isn't even an accurate representation of earnings, the statement always comes in higher, I don't understand the obsession with it Grin

justtheonethen · 28/08/2019 12:38

@Sparklfairy the statement is only higher as the missing items column gets added on when they have been assigned a value so it's pretty accurate.

Apothekerry · 28/08/2019 16:31

I'm in the process of applying for projects on Appen Connect, waiting for confirmation of acceptance for Truckee and a couple of others. Have completed NYASA, not quite sure how the invoicing bit works for this. Do I need to wait for feedback that the input for Nyasa was approved before I submit an invoice ? Or does it self generate ? Thanks for any advice... Also signed up to Angelfish, off to a do a Focus Group in Dorset tomorrow, 90 quid for that :-)

Sparklfairy · 28/08/2019 19:18

I get that justtheonethen. My point is that crisp has never ripped us off and is always accurate, so the dashboard figure is nothing more than a pat on the back. If it's delayed a few days I don't see why it warrants an email. I can imagine just how infuriating it is to get 100 requests for dashboard updates that are a day late just so they can be 'spurred on'.

CatHopeful · 28/08/2019 19:28

My dashboard all caught up with itself today. I don't think anyone here is remotely suggesting dishonesty in any way at all. From my point of view: I''m new to the dashboard (which specifically states on it to email if you notice discrepancies), it updated a batch of data and failed to account for a day, at the point I posted here I had no idea if it was a widespread & known tech issue or whether it was a tech issue personal to me that perhaps they did not know about. That's why I said in my post above that I was minded to email them - not to harangue them, or pester them, or hurry them up, or because I thought I was being ripped off. If it happens again I'll know to allow a few days margin of error.

Sparklfairy · 28/08/2019 19:38

CatHopeful it really wasn't aimed at you. I'm glad it's sorted. Sorry if I came across harsh! I didn't know how new you were, but if other people on this thread are having the same issue, you can assume it's in hand. They're so good Smile

I just roll my eyes sometimes when they have to message us all on slack every month because payments are 'late'. Happened last month and they weren't late at all. If you have access to this thread and can see it's no a lone problem (I've noticed they do keep an eye on this thread!) Rest assured it will be sorted Smile

whatthewhatthewhat · 28/08/2019 19:47

@Sparklfairy a lot of us here are very new, so we didn't know issues were communal - especially re: payment. The dashboard is also a good gauge for how you are doing, again if you're new then this really helps with motivation!

justtheonethen · 28/08/2019 19:50

@Sparklfairy I still think it's right to email if the dashboard doesn't update. If no one did then they wouldn't know. It's hardly a bother for them to send a generic reply and they tell you to email if stuff isn't showing.
The ones they must get about payments though I do agree. Just read the wiki people Grin
