Hi @Wolfff. Glad I'm not the only one. Is there any chance you could DM me and have a chat about how you answer. How on earth can you say if many people will find a bracelet or jacket offensive?

Mamaslave18 · 18/08/2019 21:14

I’ve also been moved to Truckee Ooops. I hate it 😫 I really have no idea whatsoever what I’m supposed to write about. I’m waiting for my feedback and expecting it to be bad.

0htooooodles · 19/08/2019 06:58

Has anyone had their money come through by bank transfer from crisp yet? I'm hoping it'll come through today 😩

seizethecuttlefish · 19/08/2019 08:33

I haven't had my huge 🤣 $5 payment come through from crisp and I'm still waiting on them invoicing Fletcher. Which I completed a month ago.
Has anyone worked for DaDaABC? I just passed everything and the online reviews are mixed.

Wolfff · 19/08/2019 08:35

@3dogsnorth and @Mamaslave18 I will dm you.

Zebrimid · 19/08/2019 09:34

Has anyone worked for DaDaABC?
Oh I'm jealous, I failed, not sure why. Sad. I was dubious too about the reviews but I watched a few youtuber like:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg_fqWre7UX-PGyRw8HrrVA who has worked with them for a couple of years. If you look through her videos she has decent tips for cambly too.

Sorry for late reply I am away from my pc for a couple of days (had a house disaster Hmm which means I'm not home but lots of workmen are! ) but I can send when I get back on it.
In the meantime an awesome resource and tbh better then mine and where I get lots of mine from is:www.vipkidresources.com/props
It's a different companies but if you mooch through you can find items for Palfish too as most of it is just clip art from the web
For trial palfish lessons you will need (not the interview the trial lessons with the kids)
Farm animals
Underwater animals
A camel pic!
Fruit
Monkey
Alphabet
Nose, eyes and mouth
Those cover the 4 main lessons you will get given a lot at first.

For your interview slides covered are:
Eyes, nose, mouth
Monkey, cat, fish and dog

You don't need props for every single thing, but for interview it can help to have at least a couple.

SNISR · 19/08/2019 12:46

Thank you @Zebrimid for all your help.

I'm so sorry about your current situation at home, I hope it all gets sorted quickly for you.
I did the TESOL exam last night as my coursework came through and I passed! 💃🏻
I will have a good read of the coursework too, but as I have Early Learning diploma, I mostly knew most of the coursework.
I then sent my Palfish application for verification at around 9pm and when I woke up this morning it was approved!! Yaaay!

I believe I can start free talk now? I have ordered a plain blue shirt and will print out a few props and a few things for my background, but until my t shirt doesn't arrive, I don't want to book my kids course demo.

Do I have to wear the blue shirt for my free talk sessions too?

whatthewhatthewhat · 19/08/2019 13:40

@0htooooodles poor you! I was hoping to do bank transfer next month to avoid fees, but now not so sure? It's been five days? That's looonnggg.

MrsLoganEcholls · 19/08/2019 14:19

@0htooooodles I'm still waiting for a bank transfer from crisp too. It was really quick last month but seems to be much slower this month. Still, as long as it comes eventually, I refuse to pay Paypal fees Smile

I sent an invoice as I did not want to pay the paypal fees. I made sure I was so careful over it and sent it in one of the permitted formats, but it still got refused, and I didn't get a reason why other than it couldn't be accessed and could I send it again. I've resubmitted it and am now waiting to see what happens...

As for surge pricing not being reflected - tbh I'm not really sure how I'd be able to work that out.

Otterses · 19/08/2019 18:49

Breaking news!

I'm up for redundancy... again 😂

OP posts:
whatthewhatthewhat · 19/08/2019 18:52

Oh no! @Otterses thought you'd just started? Do you get a pay off? 😉

Otterses · 19/08/2019 19:14

😂 yes @whatthewhatthewhat! I'm possibly the unluckiest person ever. Not likely to get a pay off.

I'm only at risk though Grin so that's something.

If I am made redundant again I'll take it as that the universe is trying to tell me something...

How's everyone getting on this month? I know a few of you got a bit down about it all a few weeks ago Sad

OP posts:
DontCallMeDarling · 19/08/2019 19:51

@otterses sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed it won't happen.

Update on my position, boringly no change, heard nothing back from anybody and I am now up to 14 in progress in Appen Grin. Clickworker has been dead for me in the last few weeks and prolific has also been quiet. Sigh. On the plus side, that has left me more time for catching up with tv shows and finally finished second series of fleabag which was wonderful. I guess I should just bite the bullet and give cloudworkers a go..............

Otterses · 19/08/2019 19:56

@DontCallMeDarling

Right. If Appen are being slow, have you given LionBridge a go? They're a lot more responsive. The exam is a bit intense, but if you put the study time in and read up, you could probably crack it Smile

OP posts:
seizethecuttlefish · 19/08/2019 22:05

@Otterses been there. I hate, at risk...pointless as there is sod all you can do!

I've lost my mojo a bit. Still waiting on my Fletcher torment project work to be ok'd. But that's all I've had on Appen. No Crisp and No ModSquad. Hoping to start teaching English, once all the stuff is through. I'm meant to have a Cloudworkers shift but I just can't! There are only so many times I can type excited messages to grown men behaving like children. Porn has a lot to answer for!!! I spent yesterday resisting the temptation to type "no one does that" and "I've heard sexier talk from a parrot in a pet shop".

I did win a £5 amazon voucher on Tesco insiders. That was nice. My Shoppix is nearly at £5 too. I agree, Clickworkers has been quiet. I must have money coming from intellizoom but no sign yet. I have also sold some baby stuff on eBay but I'm feeling weirdly sad about it. I'm clearly a hormonal, lunatic.

ChubRubTub · 19/08/2019 22:24

Still quiet for me too. I've only managed to get two one-off tasks on Appen, no longer term stuff. Still waiting on Crisp.

I put a couple of things on eBay and no one has bid on those either! Hopefully my luck will change soon.

Glower · 20/08/2019 00:25

I’ve just discovered this thread! It’s exactly what I need!

I’ve been working on the Appen Truckee project for a few months and am aiming for about £300 in August. I also do a bit of video captioning for Rev and I’m aiming for around £50 a week from that.

Has anyone done Coinbase Earn? Apologies if it’s been mentioned! It’s just a one off thing but I managed to get about £40 without too much effort.

Basically you get paid in cryptocurrency to learn about/take very basic quizzes about cryptocurrency. You can then covert it to £ and transfer to PayPal. I think I got accepted to two quizzes after around a day and then the next two after another day or so. Hopefully it’s still running!

Here is the instructions with more detail. www.reddit.com/r/beermoneyuk/comments/bxlhcr/earn_35_worth_crypto_guaranteed_with_instructions/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

bkaz · 20/08/2019 07:25

@Otterseas, so sorry about your job, fingers crossed it is false alarm.

@Glower, will check out your link, thanks.

Otterses · 20/08/2019 08:10

@seizethecuttlefish

😂 ! If you're not enjoying cloud workers, just stop. I absolutely hate the idea of you forcing yourself into it.

For everyone struggling a bit, have you had a look at the website testing sites? Like Whatusersdo, UTest, etc. It's quick to get up and running with those.

https://www.moneyformummy.co.uk/2018/08/12/working-on-the-web/

There's a good list above of sites and how they work pros/cons, etc.

@ChubRubTub I'm confident it'll pick up for you Sad you're doing the right thing by not piling your eggs in one basket.

@TheLolaMontez I was thinking about you last night. You're clearly incredibly creative. Why on earth aren't you doing print on demand on amazon or something for some passive income!?

Hoping for a productive day today. I'm off with DS, so I should get plenty done while he's napping later.

OP posts:
Otterses · 20/08/2019 08:20

Another idea Grin

I think a website should exist where you can post your referral links so you, and a random user earn cash.

So for example ten people post a referral to Quidco, and someone wants to open an account. The person finds Quidco on the site, pulls a magic lever, and is then given a random persons referral code earning them both £5 or whatever it is each.

Because giving friends referral links is almost as cringey as selling them Herbalife Smile

I've been following you all for a while but I am now delurking as I've finally been able to get started now the kids are back to school.

Not had much success so far though. I can't do Appen etc as I've only just relocated. Tried swagbucks but got disqualified from the majority of surveys and those that did complete have not been credited!

Vypr initially was good. I then had no steers so uninstalled and reinstalled as others have done but it now will not accept my log in / email so I've lost 4000 points :(

Citizenme and mobeye had nothing for me so I've uninstalled them.

Microworker is really easy to use but its a tiny amount per picture.

Like Glower I discovered the Coinbase earn and completed the quizzes for two of them yesterday and I'm waiting to join two more. Two others are already sold out though so I would get signed up while you can.

pisspants · 20/08/2019 08:30

thank goodness for this thread honestly- 3 days till my regular work payday and I am not in desperate straits anymore!

I am waiting for a couple of payments to clear on prolific but then will be £15 I made through there this month. I also cleared £5 with Ipsos. I must get round to emailing back the wee study forms! Hopefully they see still taking on new applicants. DS is chuffed as he did a 15 minute Skype interview with someone on behalf of the BBC and got a £25 shopping gift card. I think that resulted from a survey I originally did on panelbase.

I have also made a start on Saluda which is 2 hours a week so not too bad.
I got £75 into my PayPal yesterday and £25 last week from Cambly. I hit it quite hard last week as needed the money for going away this weekend and dont really think i can sustain that level. My problem is it gets me quite buzzed up and then I struggle to go to sleep as I am doing it 9pm till 11pm. Initially I was signing up for 3 hours a night but then if a call comes through just before your time ends you should really take it so i was doing more like 3.5 hours sometimes. Then working my normal 7.5 hours in my job the next day. i have now cut the priority teaching hours back to 2 hours a day so if it a half hour or hour session comes in right at the end and then the session goes up to 2.5 or 3 hours it's not too bad.
I still need to figure out how many evenings I will do it each week. I think I will probably do 5 till xmas. Hopefully then things will be better for me financially and I can drop back a bit.

My matched betting is building up and from starting on £25 at the end of June I am now up to £160 ish. I have just started week 4 of team profit for this and seem to be on track profit wise and still have loads of offers to go.

What doing all this has taught me is that really every pound counts. Sometimes I am having to do quite a lot to get that £1 and so I am no longer wasting so much money. I am being so much more careful and allocating every £1 for a purpose which is really helping with budgeting. Having a Monzo account with loads of pots for everything is such a good tool to be able to.do this.

Thank you everyone as without you all I would not have heard of any of these places where you can earn this extra money Smile
