@seizethecuttlefish I think it's global I'm on. I'm not in the UK, so I think that's why projects are different.

A month! Oh no, I'm getting frustrated already and it's been much less than that.

Fingers crossed for something soon. I've been waiting for Crisp for 3 months, so hopefully not too much longer to wait.

bananamuffin99 · 09/08/2019 13:45

@seizethecuttlefish I'm worried I mucked it up because, I didn't send all the documentation back in the one email like it said doh! I'll give it until Monday then send a chase-up email to them.

m00rfarm · 09/08/2019 14:48

I know this is not working from home, but I did the Mystery Shoppers activity for two years and made a lot of money from it. I stopped because I moved to Portugal. I got onto the Car Dealers evaluation sector, and although it involves visiting car dealers once or twice, spending time with them and pretending you want to buy a car, it is actually quite profitable. I actually ended up buying a car on one of these jaunts (but you do not have to do that!). I also evaluated some care homes, but mainly stuck to the cars. You can do them in your own time, but in a required 1 week period. It was a bit of a pain getting into it initially, and you obviously can only visit the dealership once every six months otherwise they know who you are.

You can choose the makes and models you want to do - so then you can go to one of the big retail parks that has several car makes and do several visits on the same day.

online.mystery-shoppers.co.uk/document.asp?alias=Clients_Area

I also did some bank visits which really profitable, but you HAVE to use your own details, and this could affect your credit score as some of them are for mortgages and loans so you do need to be careful.

There is a list and you can choose what you want to do. I was happy to get the cars as then they contact me directly and I knew what was coming up.

As I said, I would still be doing it had I not moved countries.

Bemystarlord · 09/08/2019 15:44

@Wolfff no still cant get past that security bit. Emailed them this morning so hoping someone will get back with info soon.

Wolfff · 09/08/2019 16:26

@Bemystarlord

Thanks. From the email sent last night they seemed a little confused! Hopefully we’ll get another email later to sort it out. It’s frustrating I have a couple of weeks off work so was hoping to get stuck in.

justtheonethen · 09/08/2019 16:34

They just emailed and said it should be sorted by Monday 🤞🏻

Bemystarlord · 09/08/2019 16:48

@justtheonethen just saw that so fingers crossed, although they did call me John and im definitely not a John or a man 🤣

justtheonethen · 09/08/2019 17:31

@Bemystarlord 🤣 hi John🤣

Zebrimid · 09/08/2019 18:15

I got to do my first appen task today, just a simple survey one. The others I tried to apply for are still sitting in progress, so not sure when I will hear back about those.
I did four classes on palfish today and I'm still considering applying to cloud worker, what's the interview steps like is it all online or?

Wolfff · 09/08/2019 19:05

@Zebrimid re Appen I did the survey task and then got invited to a long term project a couple of days later. Took several days to set it up though.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 09/08/2019 19:46

Hi all excited to have found this thread. DH currently out of work and I'm self employed but could do with a bit of extra cash working from home. Have applied tomAppen, sadly failed the Crisp test (not sure I was concentrating!). What about Cloudworkers, when they say "adult" what exactly does that mean?! I'm open to most things but seeing images of child abuse would horrify me.

Bemystarlord · 09/08/2019 19:50

@tinkywinkyshandbag its nothing like that just adult ‘sexting’ and dating chat.

@Zebrimid application is easy and training is done in skype messaging no interview or anything like that.

reddA · 09/08/2019 20:00

Hi all, I'm lowering my target to £600 this month, I've just been put on some new medication and my brain is not functioning at all - it's driving me nuts but it'll be worth it. Sorry to hear you're struggling too @Otterses, it's definitely better to take the pressure off instead of struggling on Flowers

Zebrimid · 09/08/2019 20:08

application is easy and training is done in skype messaging no interview or anything like that.
Skype call or just messaging? Reason I ask isI live with quite a religious person and the thought of having to 3xplain what I'm on the phone for and then the Convo about what kind of work it ia GrinShock really puts me off applying Grin

Otterses · 09/08/2019 20:09

@tinkywinkyshandbag

DO NOT APPLY TO CRISP! I'm afraid there's always the possibility of seeing something upsetting Sad

Cloud workers is just chat really, sometimes sexual in nature. I'm sure @TheLolaMontez or someone can be a bit more specific than me!

@reddA I hope you're okay Sad sounds like we all need to be kind to ourselves this month.

It just seems to be one thing after another. Nursery have raised some medical concerns about DS, DH is fucking off to the Falklands for a year next summer, and they're both stressing me out Grin

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 09/08/2019 20:23

@Otterses and @reddA hugs to you both. Sounds like you both need one, or Wine?

whatthewhatthewhat · 09/08/2019 20:25

@Otterses your shower is leaving you for a year? Why? What did nursery say? Is dc ok?

@reddA hope you're ok? £600 is still a lot! Doable with just two hours of crisp a day. Want to ask what meds are for... but don't want to pry! X

whatthewhatthewhat · 09/08/2019 20:27

Lol@ shower! How did autocorrect get 'shower' from 'dh'? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Otterses · 09/08/2019 20:57

@whatthewhatthewhat

The shower is leaving me too!? Angry BASTARD!

It's nothing exciting Grin. DH has been due a deployment for a while, it's not come as a surprise. Nursery are concerned because they think DS is deaf as a post he just doesn't listen. That and his obsession with his willy. I'm slightly calmer now I've had a drink!

OP posts:
whatthewhatthewhat · 09/08/2019 21:02

@Otterses army wife? Didn't know?! Do you go with him?
So glad I had girls! I don't think your ds is EVER going to grow out of that, sadly! (Not the not listening... although, maybe 🤔)

Yes, drink! THE answer! 🤣🤣

Bemystarlord · 09/08/2019 21:17

@Zebrimid just skype messaging, no phone or video calls. They just message you bots to read and you say ok when you have read them and then they get you to send 5 practice messages and thats it. Once you have done that you get your log ins and you are good to go.

Givealittlebit · 09/08/2019 21:54

Ok, stumbled across this thread and have been doing a bit of research! Have done the survey for crisp but not holding out much hope at hearing back soon. Started applying to Appen, did people just upload their usual CV?

Could desperately do with some extra money coming in, especially as I'm preparing for maternity leave next year!
Have started eBaying tonight as well

Givealittlebit · 09/08/2019 22:14

Oh wait failed the crisp test - maybe not best to do when tired in the evening!

Any suggestions for places to start greatly appreciated

tinkywinkyshandbag · 09/08/2019 22:32

Thanks all. Still not sure what adult chat/sexting involves, am I very naive?! Nothing would be worth seeing children being abused. But £500 a month would be extremely welcome right now.

ChubRubTub · 10/08/2019 00:12

Ok. I need Appen invoice help. All I've don't is the one-off facebook search task. How do I invoice for that? Or is it automatic?

Also, do Appen ever email you specific tasks? I've had an email today asking me to join a project, but it isn't in my list online.
