The thread where network marketing / multilevel marketing goes local - not global.

Yawn is 39 in July.

Perthsmurf · 02/04/2019 07:07

@FranceTeam in 1999 a friend invited me to an aloe evening. I am pretty sure it was Forever Fibbing. My friend managed to get a lot of people there and the rep made a lot of sales. There was no awareness in those days, we had no idea that it was all overpriced rubbish.

I do remember it being expensive but I actually thought it would be worth it. Of course, I never bought another product and the rep had no way of contacting me again. I have lost touch with that friend but as I write I am wondering how much she made from the evening- she must have been in on the profits.

If I am right on the company, it was actually not family friendly at all on those days. It meant working weekends and evenings travelling to places to sell overpriced gloop. Thank goodness it’s now so family friendly that biznis owners don’t need to spend Mother’s Day in an airport...

Whiterangey · 02/04/2019 07:41

I think you are right France. Except the very thing that led to the boom is adding to the demise.

I research everything and I had to go looking for information about MLM's. The anti mlm information wasn't as readily available then.

Now you don't need to look very hard to find the truth. In fact a lot of people have already been exposed to anti mlm information before they are approached. Even if they don't want to be that annoying friend that appears in the memes that are shared on social media.

The anti mlm brigade have worked very hard to raise awareness, add that to the satisfaction in social media together with the preference for platforms that do not lend themselves well to selling.

It's an uphill battle for bots these days.

The anti mlm sentiment that is growing online in hugely encouraging and has hopefully saved a lot of people from getting sucked into these companies.
My big frustration was the Herbalife short selling saga, I feel this was a huge opportunity missed to take down one of the most high profile MLM's out there and the knock on effect it would have on the rest of the MLM industry worldwide, It sadly degenerated into a personal vendatta between two New York investors who took opposing positions and as a result Herbalife survived and continue to trade.

gotmychocolateimgood · 02/04/2019 11:02

I agree 9dartfish2nd. Betting on zero could have had a massive impact.

So some of the flp bots have paid for training from a mlm guru and are now doing the 14 day challenge. Basically means working on your fb presence and going live more often. This has filtered down to the downlines too. Great duplication guys!!! My FL bot is copying each of Castle's lives. One is to introduce a weight loss group with tips etc where she is giving away 3 c9s. My bot really cannot afford this.

Earlier in the spring I thought Castle might be wavering as she looked very uncomfortable speaking about the opportunity at the Feb success day. Now I think she does still believe she will earn well again. Its a shame as she'd do well in a high powered corporate sales job. If she hadn't conned so many people I'd quite like her.

LeopardPrintKnickers · 02/04/2019 17:06

New to the thread but an avid watcher of Yawn... Noticed today she's admitting to 'having a wobble' and needing her BFF to come and be a guiding light...

SnoogyWoo · 02/04/2019 17:41

Yawn looks knackered in that latest video.

BangingOn · 02/04/2019 17:44

Didn’t someone say that her director’s loan was due. That’s enough to give anyone a wobble....

Norma27 · 02/04/2019 18:03

Yawn looks exhausted. She knows it is all about to crashing down around her. And I have not once ounce of sympathy. She is still conning people into joining rightbto the death.
And getting that poor woman to do 6 hrs of signing for her yesterday.

Whiterangey · 02/04/2019 18:30

Yup, her directors loan had to be paid back by 9 months after her financial year ends. Her financial year ends at the end of June so the loan had to be paid back by Sunday.

I'm guessing the loans she gets every year are paid back by new earnings. I'm guessing she hasn't made enough the past year.

The pep talk was likely about how things were going to turn around shortly. Don't forget she is likely having to pay out of pocket for the lease on the cars some months, if not all months, so that will be an added expense. I think they may have got rid of his car though.

Spongebobette · 02/04/2019 18:46

I expect it's possible to get through thectough times by 'setting incentives' for your downline 🤣

Basilneedswaterandsun · 02/04/2019 18:46

Does anyone know how much the directors loan was?
I still find it absolutely incredible that these bots take out huge loans and think that year on year they can just pay them back. That perfectly demonstrates how utterly botted the top bots are. And also crap at proper business. I have my corporation tax in a separate account and never take out more than I could afford. Why...because I can’t see the fucking future and anything could happen.

DownThePan · 02/04/2019 18:53

I think she got the sign language interpreter to work for free for her.

Whiterangey · 02/04/2019 18:54

The loan was for £188k, it was the same the year before as well. The year before that it was £109k.

Basilneedswaterandsun · 02/04/2019 18:59

So she’ll have an +/- £80k tax bill to pay!! Plus all the rest! Fuck!
Hope she has the money. That must be incredibly stressful.

Bovneydazzlers · 02/04/2019 19:05

The accounts show the loan being repaid year on year, and a new loan taken out year on year.

This works in the short term as a tax avoidance, as long as it's 'paid back' in the 9 months and there is money in the business to pay out another loan, it means the bot has got £000ks out of the business where no tax is due.

But it only works short term...there will be a year that she either needs to pay tax on that 'loan' if it is not paid back to the company, or a year when she needs to find the full amount to pay back the company. If the company stops having the money in the bank to make a 'new' loan things get tricky.

I wouldn't want that kind of amount hanging over my head in a declining business.

acatcalledjohn · 02/04/2019 19:08

I hope she doesn't have the money. She scammed enough people out of the little money they had, so let her feel the pain of being hard up for a bit. It might teach her a thing or two fat chance.

SnoogyWoo · 02/04/2019 19:09

Wow, things could escalate pretty quickly then.

CavaIsLife · 02/04/2019 19:16

Yawn is a repulsive human being (just look at the multitude of bots she love bombed and dumped) but I still feel for anyone who may lose a house, especially with children involved.

Basilneedswaterandsun · 02/04/2019 19:19

Yes, the kids don’t deserve the financial turmoil

acatcalledjohn · 02/04/2019 19:42

The kids don't deserve it, I agree. But the only ones responsible for those kids are Yawn and her husband. People shouldn't get a free pass because they have children.

Don't forget that she knowingly scammed dozens (possibly hundreds) of people and their kids in to a position financial hardship, all for her own gain. Why should she get away with it? Because she has children? What about her victims' families? Yawn made a conscious decision to risk her family's wellbeing for the sake of her aloe fame and that is on her, and her alone.

If that bites her in her C9ed arse then, well...diddums to her.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 02/04/2019 19:46

No kids deserve that. But the likes of Yawn are fully aware of what they put their victims' kids through.

I wish they didn't also suffer the consequences, but there are many kids much worse off. if it means an end to predatory botting behaviour, many more will be spared the hardship.

There is only one direction to point the finger of blame in.

spanfan · 02/04/2019 20:04

Changing topic a bit... And only because I'm nosey, but has Castle had dental work?
She looks different.

Totally non-judgemental as I would too, if I could but it's just bugging me.

SaucySausageSandwiches · 02/04/2019 20:05

I’m getting my bots mixed up and I’m now confused between Castle & Yawn... is Yawn the NHS nurse?
