The thread where network marketing / multilevel marketing goes local - not global.

I think the Thatch was was around the £600,000 mark? I could be wrong though, it just shows these bots total lack of business sense, anyone with half a brain would know that the heady days of huge bonus recaps and mega large cheques was not going to last forever. it was always going to be boom or bust, the bots could have bought more modest houses with little or no mortgage on it, instead they flashed the cash and bought big houses to show off to their minions and now they're paying the price...

BSintolerant · 01/04/2019 00:01

... and the winner is the CEO of Forever Fibbing who, along with his family, is laughing all the way to the bank.

When it comes to MLMs and all other forms of gambling, the house always wins.

But they'll all be downsizing with the message that they are so much happier being back on their old turf/previous house. I can't remember who but there was an FL bot who, instead of buying her council house at the time (which she was eligible to, at a hefty discount too), passed on that and went to a barn in the country instead. She lasted less than a year I think and returned to the council house because apparently her kids were happier there.

Of course the main driver was money, or lack thereof.

Ring any bells?

Whiterangey · 01/04/2019 00:59

The Thatch sold for £500k. She said at the time that her bonus cheque,I think it was $170k was to cover the deposit. The exchange rate at the time would have given her about £100k before tax.

She also made 'improvements' which cost a lot.

Then there are the two cars which are leased and she will have to pay for each month they don't meet the criteria for forever to pay for them.

They recently bought a car for the dogs which I suspect is a replacement for his leased car.

It's all smoke and mirrors so toy can't be sure but we know her income will have substantially dropped and it's obvious that bots spend everything they earn to show off to their downline and everyone else.

I finally found you!

9dartfinish2nd · 01/04/2019 14:15

What level of Cheque are the top bots like Uber in line for?

I see she owes her company £750k currently....that's scary.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 01/04/2019 15:10

No wonder these bots looks so utterly exhausted and dead behind the eyes.

When you've got amounts like that looming over your head and you know FL is rapidly heading down the pan as people become more and more wise to the tactics of MLMs, then you know it's just a matter of time. The worry and stress that they must be dealing with behind the scenes...

Are peoples homes safe? It's all well and good having your thatch/barn/farmhouse or whatever to show off but what happens when the business folds owing money?

9dartfinish2nd · 01/04/2019 15:23

Just looked one of botwatch's articles, She picked up a $430k cheque last year which in all likelihood will reduce again this year.

This is a house of cards just waiting to collapse....... isn't it?

Whiterangey · 01/04/2019 17:56

I think the ones at the top genuinely think that it will boom again. That it will happen in waves, a few years while things were growing and then those boom years. This is a deep back down but any second blow comes will move upwards again and there will be another boom.

Bots on the same level as Yawn will soon be spending more than they earn trying to keep up appearances and will lose everything.

Homeschool was doing exceptionally well and now she is broke and the kids are back at a normal school.

In fact when you look at the accounts of a lot of the bots that are dragged out to show how well they are doing at success days they aren't earning an awful lot.

Not to mention no expenses for things like success days.

SnoogyWoo · 01/04/2019 18:28

It’s really scary!

Mielabel · 01/04/2019 18:47

I live in the same area as Yawn, and know a lot of people recruited into FLP by her or people in her team.

I know 4 people who were successful managers in FLP a couple years back (knew them before FLP). That's how massive it was at one point, and why she got the huge cheques.

Not a single one of these people does MLM any more.

She must be struggling. The climate is totally different now. Everyone looks down on it.

Slightly different topic- but if there was a GENUINE way for people to make more flexibly, that would be the next business boom. I know 3 single mothers who are desperate to get back to work but taking the kids to school in time, having sick days off, etc etc just ruins anything they go for. I wish I had the brains to start something legitimate to replace MLM.

Whiterangey · 01/04/2019 18:55

I'd love to get back to work and have wanted to for years. It's why I first became interested in MLM. I saw someone doing it and couldn't see how it could go wrong. I researched it and came across pink truth.

That's how I came to find out what a scam it all is. I could have lost a lot of money and I'm every so grateful to those who have been involved in MLM's have been brave enough to share their stories.

An mlm seemed like the answer to my prayers. I'm no salesperson but the products sell themselves as we know.

Basilneedswaterandsun · 01/04/2019 19:12

Why are they taking out directors loans?? Very risky behaviour in my opinion. If you can’t pay it back you owe a huge about of tax.

BangingOn · 01/04/2019 19:21

I completely agree re the need for flexible, home based work opportunities. This is why MLMs have been so successful, because they appear to fulfill a need that so many women have.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 01/04/2019 20:32

@Basilneedswaterandsun - they do it because they do not have any business sense.

The whole MLM set up is about instant gratification and flaunting their riches. They can't be bothered with irritating details such as paying corporation tax before distributing dividends, or PAYE & NI for wages.

They have deluded themselves that the good times will keep on rolling and that the next bonus cheque will be larger than the last, plenty sufficient to cover any pesky details such as HMRC liabilities.

MLMsuperfan · 01/04/2019 21:22

If you have Sky or Now TV watch the most recent episode of Bob's Burgers, "Lorenzo's Oil? No, Linda's". Linda gets sucked into an essential oil MLM.

I don't think Yawn is on track to become a Diamond manager by the time she's 40, she's not even a Sapphire manager is she?

Teddy1970 · 01/04/2019 22:23

Welcome MUM glad to hear you didn't get sucked in.

BangingOn · 01/04/2019 22:40

Yawn isn’t over 40 already!? Shock

Twentytwentyhindsight · 01/04/2019 22:50

Does Homeschool realise how pathetic, tacky & desperate it looks doing a live with a three year old cheque as your backdrop?

Still, not as much as trying to flog deodorant on the back of a cancer death...

Whiterangey · 01/04/2019 23:06

Yawn is younger than she looks. Not a great advert for aloe.

One of the problems they have is getting their downlines to move through promotions. If you look through their facebooks a couple of years ago their downlines are getting promoted all over the place. That is rarely happening now. BP has stopped announcing promotions on his Facebook page as its embarrassing and shows how hard it is now.

No promotions mean less money for the top bots.

You seriously couldn't breathe for promotions a few years back. Now all those who were promoted to managers have left. Those who are still there have accounts that would definitely qualify them for child tax credit and other benefit help.

I'm eager to see if I'm right and the list of people qualifying for Stockholm includes everyone who qualified whether they have a cheque or not. As opposed to last year when he only published those with a cheque.

It's going to be a quiet cheering section in Stockholm for the UK.

Whiterangey · 01/04/2019 23:22

I hate people like castle who bang on about needing to lose weight when they quite obviously have a healthy BMI.

Obviously she is trying to sell C9's but I'm sure she loves all the people pointing out that she doesn't need to lose weight and those who point out how much bigger than her they are.

FranceTeam · 01/04/2019 23:25

How did things like forever living work before the era of Facebook etc?

I know it’s been around for 30 years or so, therefore it must have been possible to do it back then, given Facebook only became popular from 2010 onwards.

Is it the case that the social media boom helped it grow quickly from 2010 onwards, and it has now declined due to further social media changes eg snapchat and Instagram are now more popular and they don’t lend themselves well to selling?
