MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

I had a restless night last night. I kept dreaming about bloody aloe vera plants! Thanks for nothing, Forever Sodding Living!

SSDGM · 03/01/2019 10:37

Smoke and mirrors bit has also signed up for Revital-U. 🤦🏻‍♀️

SSDGM · 03/01/2019 10:38

Bot!!!

No one has told her that Octodrine is very dangerous yet.

cozietoesie · 03/01/2019 10:58

BS. Grin

Spongebobette · 03/01/2019 11:06

How many posts have I seen over the past few days on the theme of 'what happens when you put a piece of rotten fruit next to good fruit' and how that is like people and you should only mix with positive people

( which means don't listen to anyone telling you the truth about your MLM)

Arbunne did the aloe vera plants in your dream start behaving like triffids? Grin

Sponge they really are full of shit aren't they? The MLM Resistance should respond with a with a similar photograph of fruit in various stages of putrefaction quoting Oscar Wilde:

"Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone."

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 03/01/2019 14:00

Is it just me but is £10 not expensive for a sheet mask?! I just get the £3 ones that are great, but for £10 I would want some La Prarie shit not aloe and coconut that I've got in my kitchen?!!

DownThePan · 03/01/2019 14:13

@UnapologeticallyUnhinged Yes that pricing is ridiculous. I've got some organic sheet masks from TKMaxx that were 5 for £6!

If the aloe lot sell something for £10, its value is probably no more than about 20p. The rest is all mark-up for the upline and the men in suits.

Sunshineandshowers81 · 03/01/2019 14:16

Bbl seems to have forgotten that she promised to donate £200 to charity if she didn't lose a stone before Christmas, not sure what happened to the feeding the homeless on Christmas Day either

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 03/01/2019 15:30

Spongebobette I saw the rotten fruit post on Roomie's page and thought it rather ironic that she was posting about "removing that rotten, mouldy and negative fruit from your space" when she's apparently been distanced by several FL upline bots for throwing all her energies into her book.

Surely they are the first rotten fruit to chuck.

BangingOn · 03/01/2019 18:37

I’ve got a little lost on the nickname for this Bot.. possibly Barnbot, or Welsh Upline? Anyway, she’s selling a lot of things on Facebook, from £750 Macs to £5 cushions. Very strange....

BangingOn , I think that's Welsh Upline selling that stuff.

Why would you bother photographing and listing something for £2 when you live in a brand new barn and you're burning handfuls of £50 notes on the fire because you're so rich ? Confused

BSintolerant · 03/01/2019 20:16

kannaway.com/

Have any of you come across this one?

rattusrattus20 · 03/01/2019 20:25

@BSintolerant, no but it looks like a classic mlm 'snake oil' porridge. The price for what I assume is a single bottle is extraordinary.

rattusrattus20 · 03/01/2019 20:25

*product.

NameChangeNine · 03/01/2019 21:08

@OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny
Why would you bother photographing and listing something for £2

I'll tell you why...
Someone asks to buy, you invite them to your beautiful house to collect, create rapport and add them to your Who Do You Know List!! It's another way to grow that list! A well known story of one of PhD Bots (once top) managers was how she met her selling her a Hamster cage in a Tescos car park and giving her a business card!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 03/01/2019 21:37

Jeez.

I honestly didn't think of that. I've been on and off these threads from the first one (under various names) so am not naive to the ways of bots but once again I'm amazed at the lengths they'll go to to catch potential victims unawares.

I guess as people become more aware of MLMs , can spot a bot a mile off and avoid them like the plague then bots have to become ever more inventive

BangingOn · 03/01/2019 22:46

Wow! That makes sense in a terrifying way. Thanks for confirming it’s Upline Kenny, I will update my spreadsheet accordingly.

Castle is also doing a C9 ... her brother chipped in with 'can't wait to start mine!' - sigh.

My younique bot hasn't posted about it on her FB page or profile for 4 weeks. She only joined 3 weeks before that. Hope she has seen the light.

ArbunneHun · 03/01/2019 23:37

Ooooh! Quadruple Diamond Derby Valentus bot has left the V sisterhood! She did it via the medium of the traditional sobbing live... “I’ll always be grateful!” “This company changed my life!” “I can’t believe I’m walking away from this enormous residual income!”

She’s joining Ariiiiiiix and the H3 cult.

Not many left of the original Valentus Diamonds, are there? Salon will be last woman standing at this rate.

Whiterangey · 03/01/2019 23:53

As someone with an eating disorder the C9 scares the heck out of me. Eating nothing and only having some stupid milkshake for a couple of days and then eating so little that it's not even worth dirtying a plate for is harmful.

Do not screw around with your eating like that. Being thin is not all it's cracked up to be and it's much healthier to be a bit over your ideal BMI than being under a healthy BMI.

I also haven't seen anyone starting a C9 who hasn't already got a great body.

What also scares me is wondering how many of those with a great body would consider my body and even my eating disorder the better choice. They are drastically limiting their calories to a level which is not enough for your body to live on in exactly the same way I have done and encouraging others to do the same for profit.

Seriously stop it with this shit.

ArbunneHun · 03/01/2019 23:59

Amen @Whiterangey. Your body, your relationship with food are too important to your health to be reduced down to a short-term, dangerous, starvation fad designed to make profit and keep you coming back for more.
