MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

So basically she didn't manage to sucker enough people into buying the 'business in a box' and of those that did, none stuck around to make her any more CCs.

Whiterangey · 31/12/2018 22:00

I thought BFF was in someone else's down line and not Yawns. She is never past of Yawns team on success days.

Whiterangey · 31/12/2018 22:15

I think BFF is directly under Uber which is how her and Yawn met and became besties. Is possible she gets a cheque thanks to Uber making sure she gets enough cc's so that uber gets a bigger cheque.

rattus I’ve not watched it for similar reasons, but I think the news is the Girl Gang are doing Shred 10- which I’m assuming is like a C9? So not really news at all.

Joinmyteam1 · 01/01/2019 07:54

A top leader’ in Forever will apparently be achieving level 3 Chairmans bonus! As usual it’s a well known fact cheating has occurred for this to happen. She was reported a few yrs ago!

USA corporate were given the proof with screenshots, even the person she cheated with outed her too .
The UK office were told and they investigated and yes it appeared in the back office that cheating had occurred.

In the USA Corporate said no way could they strip the leader of her title as it would be bad for their image but they would be watching from then on onwards!

She has done it every year since!

Truth is these companies don’t care it’s money spent with them and ‘good publicity’ that it looks like the companies ‘leaders’ are smashing it so they can lure more gullible victims in!

Dora that’s terrible! This is the first time I have considered Brexit a good thing.

rattusrattus20 · 01/01/2019 10:03

@DoraExplorer99 and others - eeek.

HoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHo · 01/01/2019 10:15

@Joinmyteam1

There must be an outside body that can investigate? I know the DSA is a dodgy organisation ran by companies but what about trading standards and fraud teams?

I can't believe there is no organisation that can get involved. I'm sure a newspaper would love to see the evidence too!

Whiterangey · 01/01/2019 10:56

If she hadn't broken any laws I can't see what can be done. It would be nice to see that mentioned in the upcoming documentary along with the proof if the other person involved is willing to share.

Is it only one top leader achieving level 3? Bloodsucker should achieve level 3 ad well.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 01/01/2019 11:40

Yep, no laws being broken, only the internal rules of an organisation, and it's up to them to sweep it under the carpet deal with it as they see fit...

As long as the mugs downlines keep believing in the bullshit fairytale, they will keep the cash flowing in.

Willowsauntie · 01/01/2019 12:08

Ironbot said her business must be real to have gotten an invite? They've already traded in the Range Rover, she's going to need to sell a few more dog bandanas to pay for her Eurostar ticket.

HoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHoHo · 01/01/2019 12:43

Surely there's fraid or misselling going on, where people are buying their bonuses but advertising it as earnings from recruiting and selling?

Whiterangey · 01/01/2019 12:56

Shocking news! Yawn is starting a C9 tomorrow and is looking forward to feeling healthier.

You can do that by just eating normal food and save £100.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 01/01/2019 13:00

The whole MLM 'industry' is based on mis-selling. "Look at how wonderful my lifestyle is- yours could be too if you join my team" (meanwhile their company has been forced into liquidation owing the taxman thousands).

There are actually rules that trading standards can enforce regarding explicit income claims (and the MLMs 'officially' tell their reps they shouldn't make them), but they are poorly enforced. There are also many ways around it, such as "Eek, my pay's just come in for the week- does anybody know the best place to buy a Lamborghini in Scunthorpe?"

ArbunneHun · 01/01/2019 14:50

Just stumbled across an interesting live from 12th December. A very tearful bot was explaining why she was leaving Ariiiiiiiiix after 2.5 years.

It boils down to:

  1. The travel system that they all declared was amazing, incredible, UNBELIEVABLE! - was nothing of the sort. It wasn’t what was promised, it was pretty crappy and everyone was disappointed. Which explains why it hasn’t been mentioned again.
  1. Despite having a big team, being the 7th highest earner in the UK & working 40 hour weeks, she was only being paid a few grand a year. Her husband is out of work and she’s struggling to get by.
  1. When she explained to her upline that she was struggling, her upline’s respinse was to tell her that she was being greedy and that MLM isn’t about the money, it’s about helping people...

She said a few things about her upline & some of the leaders that gave the impression that there are some unpleasant people at the top of Ariiiix in the UK.

I’m sure our occasional poster Sacked-by-Ariiiiiix would agree with that assessment.

Whiterangey · 01/01/2019 15:24

Mixed feelings, I feel bad for her but she is high enough up that she would know her down line were never going to make any money.

If she is the 7th highest earner in the UK and not making enough to sustain her family then Ariix UK must be in real trouble.

rattusrattus20 · 01/01/2019 16:57

@ArbunneHun - I'd like to watch that vid, is there any discreet means by which you could share a link?

ArbunneHun · 01/01/2019 17:54

Her live refers to smoke & mirrors: that might help.

Jonsey32 · 01/01/2019 18:39

Wow.
Just watched it. She’s never been on my radar before. Amazing that as 7th in the uk she’s only pulling in a 4 figure salary. I’m assuming that means annually as opposed to monthly.
Doing the maths , even if she’s earning £9999 a year , that’s £180 a week and she said that’s 40 hrs a week so that’s not even minimum wage.
She references having a very large team below her so they must be earning a pittance.
Very eye opening.
However, as they all do , she has gone head first into the next MLM.
She could work a 40 hour week in a supermarket and earn considerably more, with holiday pay, sick pay and rights.

Mielabel · 01/01/2019 19:13

has the live been pulled now? i went to look but nothing comes up

puffyisgood · 01/01/2019 19:29

@Mielabel - me either, hun x

Jonsey32 · 01/01/2019 19:30

You need to go back to December 12

Mielabel · 01/01/2019 19:34

Oh found it! No idea why I didn't see it before. I almost joined Arrrrrriix before this thread so really useful to me.
