Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Oh god just remembered years and years ago I was persuaded to hold a Tupperware party and NO ONE turned up! It was just me and the rep.
I realised later that the village I lived in had several Tupperware reps and people were sick of it

I had COMPLETELY forgotten about it till just now

Those at the bottom are brainwashed into believing they will make a fortune.

People like Yawn are getting desperate and all they have to cling on is the hope that things will get better, likely visualising it and has added things to her dream board.

TheHorseOnSeventhAvenue · 24/10/2018 13:05

Funny my, supposedly intelligent, friend who signed up is no longer a business manager. She will still use the products because they're great and order for friends but was not happy with the business side of it. (Thank goodness!)

Still believes you can make a fortune but does not like the way you have to be and have to live to do it. She told her upline who admitted to feeling the same way.

Strangest thing is when she said she was leaving her job and setting up on her own, I suggested recruitment (she has a suitable background in a skills shortage industry) and good connections; it can be fairly flexible and quite a bit of work from home. She turned her nose up and said she wouldn't want to do that!

Funny thing is, in our industry senior managers and people with technical skills command about £4k per recruit (sometimes as high as £10K) so if she recruited 2 people per month ….

It's also a lot easier to recruit when offering people a £50K plus salary, pension, contract, employment rights etc.

At least she's out!!!

Just watched this and now my brain hurts.

(it made me ROFL to see how their diagrams are drawn so carefully not to look like pyramids!!!

What are the realistic chances of Yawn getting Chairmans bonus? Anyone have a rough idea? She's recruiting like mad...

Electrascoffee · 25/10/2018 06:01

So is this the first year Yawn did not get a chairman's bonus?

What really makes me laugh about Yawn is that she appears not to remember or care what lies she has already told. Her usual way of selling Forever is to say that she had her own child minding business. Now she says that her boss was unsupportive if she had to call in sick to look after her child 🤨

Tizzlebizzle · 25/10/2018 08:50

So FLP HQ are sending Daim bars to the lowly bots who "might" qualify for the "sponsor yourself to Stockholm" trip aka the "desperately trying to fill empty seats" incentive. Bots who have received one are gushing at how amazing the company is for recognising them like this.

No, they went to Costco and bulk bought a shed load of Daim bars in the hope that you will a) now spend loads of money desperately trying to qualify and b) then spend loads of money both getting to and whilst in Stockholm.

It makes me so angry. That so called incentive is not worth anything and will cost those near the bottom of the pyramid more than they could ever hope to make in profit to take up.

Electrascoffee · 25/10/2018 08:53

So do most of the bots have to pay the cost of their flights and hotel stay etc?

ArbunneHun · 25/10/2018 09:12

It appears that BBL bots ‘sepsis’ was pretty mild - she was back home, taking selfies, promoting JP #yummymummy packs for pregnancy and going out for meals in less than 24 hours.

There’s been a bit of a backlash from people on her FB pointing out that sepsis is a serious matter and that - though she clearly was sick - claiming to have sepsis was obviously somewhat stretching the truth.

Who even knows what the truth is in Network Marketing World? Everything, even a visit to hospital, is filtered to hell and back. BBL bot claims JP has transformed her body, but she practically live-streamed her plastic surgery. Yawn claims she was a childminder when it suits one narrative but talks about her ‘boss’ when it suits another. Truth is a very loose concept in this world.

user1484830599 · 25/10/2018 09:26

A mild version of sepsis Hmm. I'm amazed more people don't call them out on their BS but I guess the ones that dare are blocked pretty quick. Leaving only the sheep who hang off their every word.

A free chocolate bar, that's living the dream right there Grin

Tizzlebizzle · 25/10/2018 09:29

@Electrascoffee most will yes but that's not how it's presented.

There are different levels you can achieve which determine how much is paid for.

This new "incentive" gives bots who wouldn't qualify under the normal Global Rally criteria a free ticket plus a few hundred euros towards their flights and accommodation. The balance has to come out of their own pockets and everyone knows Stockholm is not cheap.

Electrascoffee · 25/10/2018 09:33

Goodness me. See, I was aware that they have to attend 'training' seminars at £30 a time.

Why don't people realise that if you work for a legitimate company you don't need to pay for training - it's free! In fact YOU should be paid for YOUR time! Or costs at least...

JasperRising · 25/10/2018 10:35

Not an MLM but this story: www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-45971416 got me thinking how little we actually seem to know about turning safe foods/drinks (in this case green tea) into supplements. Makes taking advice from unregulated bots seem even more sketchy.

Norma27 · 25/10/2018 15:58

There has been radio silence from the tropic party last night. I know at least a few dropped out yesterday - including all the people I am really close to. Been nothing in the WhatsApp group about it tho!

cozietoesie · 25/10/2018 16:26

I was invited at one time to a Body Shop party. I was T'd off because (a) I'd just been invited to make up 'numbers' rather than because the 'hostess' wanted to see me and (b) because I felt obliged to buy something to give her her 'gift'. Never again.

Sunshineandshowers81 · 25/10/2018 16:38

Nice to see bbl bots amazing recovery from sepsis. Think she is being called out a bit for it, problem is when you post every little thing on FB your lies soon catch up with you

cozietoesie · 25/10/2018 16:45

If you tell them, they do. 🙂

Spongebobette · 25/10/2018 16:57

@Norma27 do some digging!
