How much do you pay for phone and broadband?

We are currently paying £49 for phone ( incoming calls only, we use mobile for outgoing) and unlimited broadband with Virgin. I think it seems high, I also want to have full use of landline again. Internet speed is not amazing and it quite commonly cuts out at times of high usage.
Any recommendations? Thank you.

has anyone got Vodaphone broadband? They were offering some really cheap deals and I want to switch from BT to them , but BT keeps telling me how much worse the broadband will be...

My BT contract is almost up, but they won't price match anything better for me. they'll offer me more features, but I don't want anything more, just cheaper prices! landline, fast broadband, unlimited. That's it, no tv, no special services, etc. And I can't seem to get them to give me a good deal, even though other people say the negotiate

Mine is £27 for broadband only, but would have been £34 for the phone line with free evening and weekend calls in addition to the broadband. With virgin.

samandcj · 16/02/2018 12:55

BT here. £50 unlimited landline calls (except to mobile) plus features e.g. call screening. Unlimited broadband.
Broadband is very reliable & quite speedy.
Customer service could be better. Bills are very difficult to understand.

TheNecroscope · 16/02/2018 12:57

£29 for fast fibre broadband and TV and landline. I have just switched though, previously we were paying around £45 for the same package. Worth checking what's on the market for switching! Ours is with BT

haba · 16/02/2018 14:48

£50 sounds like such a lot! I remember when it was £15 a month... but obviously the speed was ridiculously slow.

Chasingsquirrels · 16/02/2018 17:07

£27 for unlimited fibre broadband & line rental (no calls included) with Talktalk - been with them for years and never had any problems.

Have a look at MoneySavingExpert, I think you can get it for around £15 atm with cashback claims - can't remember who with.

sillyswimmer · 16/02/2018 18:04

£26 for unlimited fibre broadband with free evening and weekend calls with Plusnet. They price matched a Vodafone offer I was looking at.

jaimelannistersgoldenhand · 16/02/2018 18:06

£23.99 Sky unlimited Fibre, line rental and Sky TV

BarbaraManatee · 16/02/2018 21:45

£54 for standard unlimited broadband that cuts out frequently, necessitating someone physically going to the hub to restart it & any time landline. We're with BT, always have been & as much as I want a better deal, I know nothing about other companies & I'm scared of change. I'll have to get my sensible-grown-up pants on at some point because we can't afford to not switch!

somewhereovertherain · 16/02/2018 21:48

28 quid fibre bt with free weekend calls

Also got 200 MasterCard and 80 cash back. Just getting ready to switch again.

somewhereovertherain · 16/02/2018 21:49

Unlimited

endofthelinefinally · 16/02/2018 21:53

£30 for internet, line rental and free evening and weekend calls.
We left Sky because it was costing over £50 for similar.

MongerTruffle · 16/02/2018 21:55

£62 for FTTP (300 Mbps) broadband, free evening and weekend calls

specialsubject · 17/02/2018 10:14

Plusnet. £25 for unlimited landline calls, calls to UK mobiles up to 2000 minutes a month, unlimited copper broadband. Totally reliable and perfectly fast enough.

You are paying a loyalty tax.

specialsubject · 17/02/2018 10:16

BTW that is unlimited calls anytime ( max an hour each, just redial) . waiting until the evening to us the phone? How very eighties!

Justanotherzombie · 17/02/2018 10:16

Currently £17/month for phone and broadband. 2 previous yrs was £11/month. Year before that was free.

I take deals on Moneysavingexpert.

totallyliterally · 17/02/2018 10:20

£43 a month with virgin for 150Mb (need fast for work) their basic tv with TiVo box and no phone line.

LightastheBreeze · 18/02/2018 09:28

£30.50 for line rental, free weekend calls and unlimited fibre with BT. We had a year contract with BT at this amount and when it came to an end they offered an 18 month contract at the same price so we went with that as we are happy with it

MigGril · 18/02/2018 09:38

We're about to pay £50 a month with BT for phone and fiber broad band unlimited 60mb plus their TV package with recoding box and HD channels.

Your defiantly paying to much we where with sky and had, had enough even though they tried to price match when we left. They weren't offering fiber though which is a what we really wanted.

haba · 18/02/2018 10:06

Justanotherzombie- who are you with, please?

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 18/02/2018 10:11

£35 for phone and broadband with Virgin - speed is 100mb

Graphista · 18/02/2018 10:18

£31 for reliable internet, free landline calls, discounted mobile calls, discounted overseas calls. £50 is crazy!

Whitelisbon · 18/02/2018 10:20

£25 a month, unlimited broadband (speed about 17mb), unlimited calls (up to an hour long) and line rental with SSE.
Never had a problem, never even dropped service, and we've been with them about 4 years.
