Concentrix/HMRC and childcare!!!

Hope someone will be able to help. Received the dreaded Concentrix childcare letter in March requesting a years worth of childcare receipts and bank statements. Was rather upset as I'm a widowed mum with a special needs child working 40 hours a week to make ends meet. I pay for a lot of childcare as although DS is secondary school age he can't be left alone without supervision. Realised when I calculated the figures that I had overestimated the amount I was paying so reckoned I would need to pay some of it back. A week ago I received my documents back in the post from Concentrix.
Then I received two payments I wasn't expecting from tax credits into my bank account. I rang Concentrix who said my case was closed and they were unable to make a decision so they have referred my case back to HMRC. I can't get through to HMRC they say I need to speak to Concentrix!! I don't want to spend the money as I'm sure they've paid me in error. Help!!!!!

Another one here just received the childcare information request for 2015/2016, and I also have the same problem with the childcare vouchers, I honestly never they were not included Confused. I am sure I declared them when I first applied at the beginning of 2014 (applied over the phone) when I separated from their dad, I was really struggling and getting no assistance from their dad whatsoever. I have written a letter apologising and explaining, although I know I will have to repay. My childcare costs have gone up from £50 per week at the beginning of the year for random care for my eldest two DC, to what they are now £320 per week following having our third, so to lose them completely and have to repay will cripple us, we currently receive £100 a week.

The letter says a response within 15 days, I'm guessing from posts on here, this is a laughable oversight?? I'm posting the information tomorrow morning recorded, and sit it out, we will really struggle but if I receive any payments between now and their decision, it would be better to keep to one side so I can return it?

Overtired, i am the same - i am certain i told them about vouchers over the phone when dd started nursery - i am really panicking as i struggle with the money i get so i am going to struggle to pay an over payment.

I sent mine recorded on Tuesday and they signed for it on Wednesday. I will let you know if i hear anything back.

Thanks YouKnow, I wish I was financially stable where I never needed to apply for tax credits, I'm sure I declared it, but because it was over phone, I have no proof, and because the award changed last year, I threw away the old information - which I am kicking myself for doing now. I'm like you, struggle through the month as it is, so if stopped/reduced and then repayments, I just won't have the money. Do you get chance to prove what you can afford on repayments? Surely, they can't make you pay unpractical amounts?

youknowwhattodo · 26/05/2016 13:12

Does any one know, when concentrix send documents back to us it is
Recorded post?

byjimminey · 31/05/2016 00:16

no i think it just gets sent back in the normal post.

icurgnmum · 01/06/2016 15:24

I'm just going through this too. I sent my stuff and it was signed for on 27 May. I was told that it will be processed and decision made in 30 days, seems from reading this that that was optimistic. I have called Concentrix three times, every time I have called they have claimed that their entire IT system is not working.

youknowwhattodo · 01/06/2016 17:12

I had my docs back last week and phoned them today and they said cannot give me a date when it will be done or even a time frame but to keep trying or just wait until they write back. It is so annoying!! It has been 5 weeks since this started.

iamdivergent · 02/06/2016 13:58

I got my renewal through today and noticed my childcare costs are still on there but we don't use childcare now. Tax Credits didn't contribute to our childcare costs as we were earning 'too much', but we do receive £45 a week CTC - I have renewed online and changed the costs to £0 but am I likely to have to pay anything back? I stopped paying for childcare at the end of November and it didn't occur to me to call them as they don't give us anything towards the childcare and we receive no WTC.

Thanks

Chani87 · 14/06/2016 22:08

Iamdivergent, have you heard anything back yet? I Never received any help towards childcare has we "earn to much" so when my little boy turned 3 and got his free 15 hours I changed his nursery so that he was at the school nursery. I'm pretty sure I informed them but they say I haven't so I am now under investigation and have to provided a letter from the nursery with info regarding payment and hours attend. And now I'm really worried 😩

wow23 · 15/06/2016 10:58

I phoned again this morning for an update as it has now been 8 weeks and guess what...systems down again. Angry

Overtiredbackagain · 29/06/2016 13:40

Overtired, have you heard anything yet?

howonearthdidigethere · 19/08/2016 15:57

I rang this afternoon and was told that, due to system failure, there's a massive backlog. I explained that it was making me very anxious and she said that all that she could tell me was that I had provided sufficient evidence. That's great, but it doesn't tell me whether they agree with my calculations. She said she was able to 'refresh' it and so maybe that will push things forward.

Hope everyone else is getting good news.

Overtiredbackagain · 22/08/2016 13:40

No news yet here.

I am expecting overpayment.

michelle388 · 22/08/2016 14:35

Still waiting here - also expecting an over payment. How long have you all been waiting

Overtiredbackagain · 22/08/2016 14:40

My paperwork was received (recorded) on 16 May, scanned on the system 19th May. Received my papers back (recorded) last week - still waiting. I haven't called since because I knew of the delays etc, I'm just sitting it out.

michelle388 · 22/08/2016 15:15

Mine was around the same time; called last week and was told about the delays so will just wait it out! I just know there is going to be an overpayment and i am still receiving it

Thinkpink87 · 27/08/2016 21:10

Thanks for this ladies, they received my documents June and wrote to say thanks and they will write again. I am still waiting! !! So nearly 3 months as much as it is annoying, it's good to know there are others in the same boat. Hope they sort it out soon!!

janicejack · 05/09/2016 16:48

Has anyone heard anything back yet? I'm im similar position and not heard anything for 3 months

MrsPigling · 06/09/2016 21:38

I sent my letter and documents on 11th June. They've returned them to me, but no decision yet. I've not bothered phoning and we're not claiming anything now, so they can't stop payments....

Suzannea1984 · 13/09/2016 11:37

I got a letter back in April and sent all info back within a week, they sent this back. Come towards end of July I was worried as I have heard nothing yet and if my payments would stop. They said it was still in processing. So at end of August still nothing so rang again and it is in active processing and should take a matter of weeks now but no specific time scale and still to this date I have had nothing. It's been six months and can't get my tax award letter till its processed. Anyone else had to wait such a long time.

mamamiaa · 13/09/2016 12:10

Suzanne, i am exactly the same. Its ridiculous. Is everything okay with your childcare? I am being overpaid (i think) but they wont sort it until they have closed the case.

Suzannea1984 · 13/09/2016 13:47

I have earnt 500 more than I originally put down, but that is because I had a change of jobs

BuggritMillenniumHandAndShrimp · 13/09/2016 14:02

Another one here. Sent all paperwork in in May, have had it back saying it's all fine and still waiting for a decision. We have a change to report as DH started a much better job yesterday and HMRC can't process the change until the decision is sorted so we'll be overpaid. Concentrix say we can report the change to them but it's impossible to even get them to answer the phone. They're a set of fuckers.
