I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

Hello everyone - I have returned from my holiday. TBH we got back at the weekend but returned to the childminder telling us that she is closing next month so things have been a bit hectic trying to sort alternative arrangements for both DDs for when I go back to work in 10 days!

And welcome to PistachioLemon who is coming in to take over from poshwelies.

I hope I am not jinxing this whole thing but, assuming that I will be posting to PL instead of to PW, this will be the third person I will be posting to!!!

I have been working my way through Maria's book this month - will post on the relevant thread.

Nice to be back!

Dysgu · 20/08/2009 16:56

x-posted with arti - sorry.

You are fabulous sorting all this out! And getting up so early in the morning! I too have an early riser - 5.30am here is a lie-in - but luckily (for me) DP does the early mornings so am okay to lounge in bed until he leaves for work at 7am!

It does mean that we practically sleep in shifts though as he is early to bed and early to rise whilst I am late to bed and would ahppily stay there wil lunchtime if it wasn't for the little people in the house who feel I should be up and about by 7!

Things will all change next month when I go back to work though as then we will all need to be up and out by half seven anyway!

Looking forward to confirmation that I will be posting to PistachioLemon and seeing what her choccie preferences are.

artifarti · 20/08/2009 17:07

Dysgu - I was beginning to worry if you were the problem...

Yes, early rising is rubbish but I am sadly used to it now. Knackered though! Wow for your DP! Mine does a weekend shift but I find it impossible to sleep past 5.30 now anyway. Suppose I should use the time to read really...

Have emailed posh and await her reply.

Oooh, oooh, oooh, my head hurts...

Right, poshwellies has already posted the books (artifarti's and aristocat's) to whinegums. whinegums - if you could post aristocat's book onto stickylf on or around 1 Sept then artifarti's is the book you are due on 1 Sept (so you post that on on 1 Oct)...

...PistachioLemon will take poshwellies' place in the chain and so I will email Dysgu her details. You will post Maria2007's book on as per usual.

Does that seem to make sense? I think that will get us back on track.

MrsMuddle · 20/08/2009 21:40

Gosh, you're good!

Will I change the name inside the book or will that be too confusing? The thread will still say "Poshwellies' Book".

whinegums · 20/08/2009 22:10

Ok, will look out for the books. I'll try and get aristocat's book read asap and get it off to stickylittlefingers, but it might be a bit later than 1 September!

stickylittlefingers · 21/08/2009 09:05

Hi - that's fine whinegums, I'm sure I can make up time as I'm very naughty at reading at every spare moment! My first day back at work this week I managed to get on a train that didn't stop at home - an unexpected trip to Darlington meant I got even longer to read!! There are advantages to being a wee bit absent-minded Probably not a trick I should pull too often tho - dp might get a bit suspicious...

Hi Pistachiolemon so glad you could join in! Getting a new book and yummy chocolate each month is fab. I don't want it ever to end!!

Itsjustafleshwound · 21/08/2009 20:03

Arti - thank you again for all the organising ... sorry, been off doing RL things - with a DH on holiday there is little time for MN ...

Welcome PistachioLemon - glad you are joining us !

Not managed to tackle the latest book - but still a few days to go ..

Maria2007 · 21/08/2009 22:22

Arti: PHEW!!! You're good, girl. How did you manage to arrange all that?! I got confused just reading it .

Anyway, just wanted to say HELLO to everyone and WELCOME to PistachioLemon. Glad to have a new member but sorry that Posh is leaving us. But if it's the right thing for her to do atm, totally understandable.

This month I finished my book (muddleduck's) in just a few days as I loved it so much. I'll be sending it on to arti slightly early (before the 27th) because I'm off on holiday for 3 weeks. Just wanted to remind Flyingmonkeys to send my book early too (it needs to get to me on the 26th at the latest, which means, Flyingmonkeys, that hopefully you'll put it in the post soon Sorry for this & hope it's not a problem...

whinegums · 22/08/2009 15:08

Hi, books arrived this morning and choccie too, hurrah! If you're reading Poshwellies, thanks so much, and I'm sorry you've had to drop out. Arti, please can you email me PWs email if it's not too much trouble, as I'd like to say thank you in case she's not reading this?

Both books look good, I will do my best to get the first one read asap and get it sent to Stickylittlefingers.

LolaLadybird · 22/08/2009 22:15

Hi All. Just returned from a week away hence radio silence but, like everyone else, I would like to say well done and thank you to Arti for the re-organisation - my head also hurt just trying to keep up with you.

Also, welcome to PistachioLemon - this book swap club is a truly wonderful thing and I'm sure you'll enjoy the reading and the chocolate alike.

I've just finished reading Whinegums book which I really enjoyed but managed to leave behind in the Isle of Man at DH's parents so it will be completing an extra little leg of travel this month. I'm sure it will arrive here in time in order to send onto Itsjustafleshwound in a timely manner but apologies in advance if it ends up being slightly late. (The book was in a bag full of other things - DC's books, DVD's, my diary - that I'd packed and DH was responsible for putting in the car ... as I pointed out to him in a perfectly measured and civilised tone this afternoon - accusing, moi?! )

Maria2007 · 25/08/2009 13:49

OK have received my book & choccies. Thanks so much flyingmonkeys for sending everything early Really appreciate it. The book looks fantastic. I think (if I'm correct) it's Pooter's book? Anyway, it's an excellent choice, really look forward to reading it.

artifarti · 26/08/2009 20:17

Maria - thank you for the parcel and all it contained which arrived today. I haven't read the book but it is on my 'to-read' shelf, so hope I enjoy it. Yes, your book is pooter's. Enjoy your holiday!

PistachioLemon · 28/08/2009 09:07

Thanks ladies for the welcome. I'm very much looking forward to receiving my first book and choccy!

aristocat · 28/08/2009 19:17

hi ladies,
have been on holiday in sunny wales with DCs and DH
have had a great time and i am looking forward to my next book

artifarti · 31/08/2009 16:33

whinegums - have emailed you with poshwellies' details, as promised.

So, it's posting day tomorrow! Does everyone know who they're posting to and have their details? [crosses fingers that everything goes smoothly...]

Hope you are all relaxing in the Bank Holiday sun with a good book.

OP posts:
MrsMuddle · 31/08/2009 21:12

I posted today, so lolaladybird should get it tomorrow. I forgot to put a note in, but I'm guessing that I'm the only person who sends her a book and chocolate at the start of every month.

We don't have a bank holiday, it's freezing, and it's been raining since about Tuesday.

artifarti · 31/08/2009 22:10

aristocat - think I might have to post yours on Thursday, if that's okay, when I'm not at work, miles away from a post office!

OP posts:
aristocat · 31/08/2009 22:52

arti - thats fine.
i am still reading my james grippando book at the moment, and very good it is too.

also wanted to say that i have enjoyed everyones book so far

i shall be posting to Dysgu in the morning - so look out for your postie haha

stickylittlefingers · 01/09/2009 14:14

Hi - Dysgu's book went off this morning - so should be with you MrsMuddle very shortly...

LolaLadybird · 01/09/2009 14:49

Thanks MrsMuddle - book and v nice choc arrived today. Sadly, you are the only person who sends me books and chocolate through the post so I would've guessed who it was from.

Hope you are feeling warmer today. Weather has been miserable here too. Can't believe today is 1st September and the 'summer' (I use the term loosely) is over.

LolaLadybird · 01/09/2009 17:54

Itsjustafleshwound - posted your book and choc today. Slightly disorganised this month so choc not up to usual standards I'm afraid but normal service will be resumed next month! (Of course, the upside of the fact I could only get cheaper choc is that there's more of it!!)

Itsjustafleshwound · 02/09/2009 15:10

Thanks Lola!

Pooter - will post your book (and choc) tomorrow - promise ...

pooter · 02/09/2009 17:42

itsjusta thanks - will look out for it - this one had better not make me cry! Where are all the books about rainbows and happy puppies, especially for preganant wusses readers???

muddleduck i posted yours on the first, so should be with you soon - managed to beat DH off your choccy before he ate it this time. Also forgot to put a note in - i wrote it, but sealed the envelope before i put it in - dur!

artifarti · 03/09/2009 07:19

Is everyone on track to send and receive? [worried emoticon] Will battle through the wind and rain to the PO later, aristocat

BTW, I have just finished a cracking book - The American Boy by Andrew Taylor. If any of you like Sarah Waters, you'd probably like it.
