Anyone fancy joining me in a new swap club?

I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

I would love to get involved. DD2 is now 4 months old so still not getting much free time during the day but once they are all in bed...

Count me in (although I am away for nearly a fortnight from Sunday so hopefully you won't get started before I get home!!!)

Hi Arti, haven't been on the sleep or puree threads for a while so haven't 'seen' you around. How are you? BTW, if you were the friend you remind me of (she writes in a very similar way, and is an arty farty type in RL!) you'd know who I was for sure! God, that will sound so weird to everyone else won't it?

Can I join in, pls - am quite open minded, but never choose chick lit off my own bat, if that makes sense (mental image of someone batting chicks, which would be animal cruelty and not nice).

Posh wellies - I agree. Wouldn't want anything where anything happened nasty to children (in a nasty salacious way, I think you'll kwim). I can barely watch the news as it is!

I make that 12! Will just wait to hear from FlyingMonkey who expressed an interest on the other thread. Shall we keep it at 12? That's a year for the books to go round. It might get a bit mad if we have lots more.

No chicklit
No hardbacks (by royal decree of OP!)
No abuse bio's [shudder]
No crime/horror

Muddleduck you are Number One Reserve if FlyingMonkey doesn't get back or if I go all soft and start letting more people in.

Okay, we have a couple of crime fans and seeing as aristocat was my inspiration it's only fair that crime stays in!

How does this sound:

When we've agreed our group and a monthly posting date, I'll post my email address and you all send me your name and address details (I obviously promise not to give them to all and sundry or post porn to you or anything...) I can then email each of you the details of the person on the list that you send your book to. If people want to post and discuss the books, you can see that other groups do this by posting the name of the book group and then Artifarti's book (or whatever, so as not to tell everyone what all the books are) Does that make sense? I am doing this very quickly before DS wakes up and wants to bounce on my lap!

How's about a posting date of 18th, as Dysgu will be back from hols ?

Arti - 'so as not to tell everyone what all the books are'. Does that mean we don't disclose which book we've gone for so that it's a surprise? If so, what happens if 2 of us choose the same book?

Am I over complicating this? A book swap virgin here ...

Lola - hmmm, let's just hope no-one chooses the same one! [Arti envisages ensuing administrative nightmare as 12 people all choose the same book...]

Thanks for being the one to sort it all out arti. Wonder if Flame knows what the other groups did re. buying books. It would be a shame to double up on any.

I think on the other group they all emailed their book titles as well as name and addresses. Would spoil my surprise but I could live with it for the greater good! [selfless martyr emoticon]
