RPOC after miscarriage- what happens next?

Hi, Im hoping for some advice if possible. I was 8 weeks pregnant and miscarried two weeks ago. I have retained products of 17 mm. I have another scan next Friday. I stopped bleeding one week ago.

Does anyone know if I will need medical intervention at this point if the ROPC are still present? My pregnancy test was very light today but I haven't lost anymore blood/tissue since my scan so confused as to why my test is so much fainter?

Does anyone know if you can ovulate and concieve with ROPC?

Thanks so much in advance x

I bet you are feeling very anxious! Hopefully all will be ok and return to normal before your wedding! What a nightmare for you! When you said the other week they think it's vascular, was it do you know? I think it can take 3 weeks or sometimes longer for a negative test. Mine was longer because I had my surgery then 6 days later I passed pregnancy tissue so that was almost one week where I obviously had retained products and I had a partial molar pregnancy which is abnormal and HCG levels rocket compared to a normal pregnancy. Some would say give it 3 weeks and if it's still positive you need to contact EPU again but hopefully it's all come away now and everything will be alright.

I'm trying to conceive again for a few months. Anxious x

The sonographer’s report said it was RPOC with vascularity so I assume it was, although I didn’t ask post procedure. I would like to think it was resolved too, the dr did put in my op report that pregnancy tissue was removed and sent to histology when I asked. Obviously they can’t say for sure it was everything as they go in blind but with it being retained products not a full pregnancy I am keeping my fingers crossed. It least the scan should confirm either way Tuesday, don’t think I would cope 2 more weeks of unknown and worrying it’s really taking its toll to say we received our bad news on 30th December.

Don’t blame you, I feel similar. Not sure seeing two lines will ever feel the same again 😔. Sending hugs and hope you have plenty of support x

@KT199 Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news! Got my fingers crossed for you! It's so stressful. I am sure they will have got everything in that case if your notes say tissue was expelled after the procedure. Let me know how it goes.

I was petrified of the thought of trying again at first and thought I wouldn't but a few months down the line I feel more determined than ever! It's a little different for me though as I am trying for my last child as I am almost 40 🥴 x

Just to say I got a very faint positive today after 2 periods (including period with RPOC) so sending hope to you all. Already anxious and googling like crazy 🤪

Good luck x

Hi all. Hope it's OK to join this thread? I've just got out of hospital last night after the most awful week of blood tests and scans etc.

I had a pregnancy of unknown location and because my levels kept rising despite constant bleeding and pain, they thought it might be ectopic, so admitted me on Friday to keep an eye. Levels kept going up though but finally hit a plateau yesterday, so they rescanned me and said there still seemed to be some thickened lining, so offered me an MVA. So I had that with just local and gas and air yesterday and OMG, it was absolutely horrendous. I wish I'd opted for general instead. Never felt anything like it, and I've had 4 children.

The pain afterwards was really bad and I stayed in hospital until late last night when they let me come home and I have to go back on Wednesday for bloods to make sure they're coming down 🤞

It's just been such a rubbish time. I'm just hopeful that my levels have come down on Wednesday and this is the end of things.

I'm so sorry to you all for your losses xx
