I had my 7th mcs about 9 weeks ago (i think, i didnt write any dates down, have little memory of about 2 weeks during the time, due to the drugs i was pumped with)
In short, i dont know when it occurred.

Ive sought councelling because i have never talked about my mcs ever, to any one.(well, only to you lot Smile)
Additionally, i am coming up 42, and thught that that was IT the end, no more, even went and got the pill.

Patiently waiting for my period so that i could start taking the damned thing.
No af as yet.
Feeling much better in myself, councelling really really helping, im on a healthy eating mission (thanks to myfitnesspal) doing really well.

Accepting everything, although the grief has been overwhelming at times Sad.

So af still not here, so bought a cheepy test, thought that all pregnancy hrmones will now be gone...this far after mc....almost immediately a pink line came up.

We dtd only a couple of times..it normally took me up to 22 months to concieve so this has floored me...completely and totally. Do not know what the jeff i should do?????????
All calming words of wisdom very much appreciated....i know i know, theres no fool like an old fool.. Sad

Why do you think you're such high risk? I had an amnio with DD when I was 35 as the bloods at 12 weeks came back high risk...1 in 68 in fact. The nuchal fold was fine but I had high HcG and low Papp A. She does not have downs. A friend had the nuchal fold and bloods at 12 weeks at age 42 and got a risk of 1 in 300ish, so didn't have the amnio. The risk of mc with an amnio is there but is usually quoted as about 1-2%, so not huge either. Good that your hospital has such a good record with it too. When would the amnio be?

nosleepwithworry · 05/08/2012 17:47

Hello, i am presuming that i am high risk because i am 42, also the re-occuring miscarriage clinic told me that the probable reason for all of my 7 miscarriages was chromosomal problems.
I took this as gospel.
However they quickly added that they were discharging me because actually they did not catagorically know why i miscarry so much, they have no answers for me and they had absolutely no treatement for me..
All unkown BUT that sticks in my mind "probably chromosomal related"...

When so called experts say something like that, it tends to stick i spose.
Funny isnt it, what goes through your mind.

Off wagon wheels, kinda loving Hienz tommy soup and tiger crusty bread at the mo Smile

Ah, OK. I see. Do you have a date for the amnio? Mine was here in Spain and they quoted a 1-2% risk of mc but also said they had't had any mc following amnios that year or ever, can't remember. They scanned me before and during (I looked away) ad after to check all ok. It didn't hurt and only took about a minute.

nosleepwithworry · 05/08/2012 20:03

No date yet, going to ring tomorrow and make the appointment. presume it will be in a couple of weeks.
Going to try to get a few days off work after it. Try to time it at the end of the week if possible.
Got appointment date for seeing the consultant though, excited about that, feel really reassured as its in a couple of weeks too.

would you go for bloods now anyway?

:)

lagartija · 05/08/2012 20:59

I was told the bloods have to be done by 9 weeks.

nosleepwithworry · 05/08/2012 21:15

No point nickelbara.
Im 14 weeks and as i say i do not want probability, waste of time and NHS money.
I need facts.
