Complete molar pregnancy

Hi all,
I found out 5 weeks ago that my 14 week prgnancy was infact a molar pregnancy. At first I had no idea of what the doctors were saying to me and what had happened to my baby??!! I had to have a D&C two days later and when I came home I was still in a daze of what had happened. I didn't sleep very well that night so decided to get up and do some reading up on the net about molar pregnancy's, I was really shocked to what I found. It's the hardest thing to lose a baby and i felt cheated by mother nature as my body was telling me that I was pregnant but there was no baby! but I grow a placenta which fed a tumour. I still find it hard to come to turms with as I bounded with something that was never there but my body told me I was pregnant. Im still having blood tests done every two weeks to make sure my levels are coming down which they are thank god, I dont know how the women that have to have chemo after having a molar pegnancy do it. I know things will get better but its going to take time.
Lisa

Hi mummyabroad,

WELL DONE TO YOU, Im so so so so happy for you. WHOOOOOOOOHOOOO. xxxx

Im so glad that you are on the same page as me with trying ttc, my friends get all stropy with me because they think I should wait to be safe but they have no idea how im feeling and all I wnt is to have another child. Iv been doing those ovulation tests this month but and im due to come on next thursday (3feb) and I did a test to see if I was pg and it was negative! Im not sure if iv done it abit early or thats a true reading. I wont it so madly that im worried that the stress of trying to catch will end up in not be able to. I was always told that its the 14 day that you should try to catch on and around but when I was doing the testing I was the 12 day so I dont know what my bodie is doing????? Last month I came on early and this month I was late?? What a nightmear.

I did go and see a medium before crimbo as I need help to move on and she knew everything that I had been through and still going through, she also said that I will be a mummy again this year but she wouldnt tell me a date, she also said that I will have good news in the spring! but that could mean that I get the all clear iin April! Its so frustrating isnt.

Im so happy for you, I hope this year we will both be sending each other out lil pics of our miracles. xxxx

Hi lisalou,

Thanks Grin

How frustrating with your friends! I guess they are just worried about you. Lots of women (whose levels drop fast and dont need chemo) are only told to wait 3 months. You know your body and if your numbers havent risen since Sep, I dont blame you for wanting to start sooner rather than later.

I've actually learnt quite a bit about OPK's/charting/EGCM while I have been battling to get my fertility back all this time. I am using the whole lot to help get there quickerGrin

Here is some useful info:

Amazon sells OPK's 25 for £5
Do them twice a day from day 11 (I often get a positive in the morning, gone by the afternoon, sometimes the LH surge is short and its easy to miss)
DONT STOP SWI too soon after a positive though, stress/illness/travel can delay ovulation so at least 3 days worth is good (i.e. more than the 12-36 hours as it says on packet)
Check out www.fertilityfriend.com if you want to do charting. It helps you know when to stop SWI (because you can tell AFTER you have ovulated and when to test for pregnancy/when AF is coming) Here is my chart
But "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler if you want a complete low down on all things fertility related - its brilliant.

or an easier way is the Sperm Meets Egg Plan

Drink a glass of grapefruit juice for a few days before ovulation, it drastically increases the amount of EGCM you get. Drink more water too for the same reason.

If you have a read of Toni's book or do the tutorials on FF.com you will see that ovulating on day 12 is totally normal. Its a myth that all women ovulate on Day 14, every one of us is different and it can be different month to month. I love charting because it has totally help me understand what my body is doing (and even helped me get the AS diagnosis too!)

anyway, best of luck to us both !!! xxx

Hi Mummyabroad,

I love chatting to you because you always put things in to a better light, I will have a look at those web sights and see if I can make some sence of my body!

I think that because Iv had three children I just assumed I would just fall straight away, but it's not going to be as easy as that I dont think. Todays a bit of a low day for some unknow reason I really dont know whats up with me I was fine yesterday!

How long have you lived out in costa rica? I bet its lovely and hot out there unlike our very cold -2 today. I cant believe that the doctors that you seen over there all said that you had no chance of being able to fall pregnant and when you came over here you were able to have treatment and now your ttc, its just fantastic for you both.

Im glad you said that its normal to ovulate on a 12 day to just 14 days like you always read about because I thought maybe there was something wrong and my body was just being a pain to work out. I must admit I have always done it to the 14 day with the others, Katy took me 5 months to fall with her, Amber took a whopping 22 months and Isobelle I fell the week I stopped breast feeding Amber at ten months old!! so they have all been very different so Its hard to judge a 'normal' pattern. I think I might need to do a couple of months worth of ovulation testing to work out the best timing.

Hopfully there will be good news for both of us soon. xxxx

sorry been away for a bit because I was feeling glum. AF came and I couldnt even console myself with "at least my periods are normal now" because it was very light, which could be a sign of scar tissue growing back. Bugger. It could be nothing though, will have to wait and see. Anyway, I am due to ovulate on Valentines Day, lets hope some saintly help will do the trick Wink

Hey, I had a molar pregnancy in March 2017 very confusing time as I didn’t understand or had ever heard of such a thing. However it does get better and a year later I got pregnancy with my daughter who is now a healthy normal baby 6 months old so the point of my post is don’t worry it does get better and in most cases does not affect fertility
