Anyone else struggling to keep Evorel Conti patches properly in place?

Advice needed please
I started on HRT Evorel Conti patches last Friday and have not managed to keep a single one on for more than 24 hours. They start crinkling and getting loose around the edges. Has anyone else had this issue? I have applied to non moisturised skin, tried warming them up, applied to different areas (thigh, tummy and bum). All the same outcome. If I do manage to keep one on, they end up coming loose in the shower. I was looking forward to starting HRT but this is getting frustrating. I wonder if there is another brand anyone can recommend?

Mine are staying on but I am in a minority and everyone else I speak to has the same issue as you.

Mine are very itchy under the patch in this hot weather, which is driving me nuts.

Mine have always been ok, I make sure I put them on a patch of skin which is fully covered by my (granny) knickers, so there’s no knicker edges to catch the edge of the patch.
(I’ve always worn granny knickers, it’s not a patch thing!)

Yes, mine seem to have started misbehaving. It hadn't occurred to me that it was the weather until I saw something on about keeping medicines cool in the heat.

I've been using them for about 3 years and previously had no problems in the shower and even while swimming.

I got this kind of thing from Amazon for mine, which really helped them stay in place.

The only place I can get them to stick is just below knicker waistband on my tummy, hips and thighs have been pointless - first week lost 4 lol.

Also micropore is my friend if the edges start to lift before due to change over x

No prob with them. I stick them on my bum post shower.

Same problem. I'm guessing they aren't as effective if they're not flat against the skin. The patches seem to become very crinkly.

Tattoo film/dressing adhesive from amazon. The banded one is opsite, but the cheap stuff is as good. My daughter has surgical dressings and it keeps them fixed firm for a good week, even in the heat. You might want some adhesive remover too.

I put them above my knee where the skin doesn't crease very much and that works better than anywhere else.

They are contrary things. Are you touching the sticky side at all during application? I was advised to only peel half of the backing off, apply the exposed part to my skin, and pull the other backing away. Then smooth down. They don’t like being touched.

I use the spray now anyway as I couldn’t get on with them.

I have dry skin, mine hook on like they’ve been glued, only 1 has fallen off and that was because I was cackhanded putting it on. My friend could never keep the patches on due to working in a hot environment and sweating them off, she switched to gel. For me the sticky stuff takes ages to remove, I soap, scratch, scrub, use exfoliating mitt, oil and still walk around with 4 squares in various stages of removal!

Thanks for your replies. I'm pretty sure I am doing everything right. No body cream, no sweating when applying, not touching the glue. My current patch is on my tummy under my knickers, and just checked and glue has stuck to the knickers. I'm not even hot today! . Will try the additional dressings and hope for the best! Are you on other other medication out of interest? I wonder whether different medicines affect our skin. Mine stick like absolute glue. I put them on after a shower usually but I don’t use any creams on the areas I put them on.

Yes, they're a nightmare. I've lost 2 this week. I'll have to order my next prescription early and explain why. I think the manufacturers are using a cheaper glue. I never used to have this issue.

I used to have the same problem @knottywig. Try Zoff wipes - available in chemists - the only thing that enables me to remove the adhesive residue.

mine don't stick very well either,. apparently you should warm them up with a handuyer a similar/lue never bothered

I don't warm them up but hold my hand over the whole patch for a count of 30 seconds pressing it on, once it's on if that makes sense. Also make sure I am just out of the shower and skin is perfectly dry on bum and hands! It sounds like others are having the same prob though so I think I am just lucky.

I have never had a problem with them whatsoever. I don't moisturise or use any skin products at all.

The one I applied yesterday morning, under my knicker line has actually stayed on, and I had a shower this morning!! Perhaps just a location thing?

I’ve had one come off in the heat this week whereas usually they stick well on the lower abdomen hip area.

Same here. I went for my shower last Wednesday evening, and my patch wasn't on anymore. Gawd knows where it fell off. I popped another one on, and so far so good again as they normally stick well.

It's weird, on Monday I got 'the rage' which was always one of my symptoms, and although it's been hot I kept thinking I was having hot flushes.

I'm back to normal again now, but I think those hours without the patch really affected me!!

Yeah definitely it’s quite shocking how quickly the symptoms can recur!
