Anyone else struggling to keep Evorel Conti patches properly in place?

Advice needed please
I started on HRT Evorel Conti patches last Friday and have not managed to keep a single one on for more than 24 hours. They start crinkling and getting loose around the edges. Has anyone else had this issue? I have applied to non moisturised skin, tried warming them up, applied to different areas (thigh, tummy and bum). All the same outcome. If I do manage to keep one on, they end up coming loose in the shower. I was looking forward to starting HRT but this is getting frustrating. I wonder if there is another brand anyone can recommend?

Out of interest , why are you on the patches not the gel ?

Nb this is just for info,, as I have an appointment next month to discuss going on HRT...

I have had to use evorel because estradot
has disappeared again and I can’t get it to stick. I used 5 in 5 days and called the GP
asking for an alternative. I was given the spray but my symptoms all returned so I’ve been cutting my patch (75mg) into two and they stick better around my c section scar are where there’s limited movement. Estradot is a more stretchy patch so movement isn’t a problem but evorel seems to have no stretch and just goes crinkly. It’s horrible (I also react to the adhesive but I will tolerate that if they actually stick)

I did not enjoy the gel - it’s fine in this weather, but in winter, having to sit and wait for it to dry before dressing, I was too cold. I call it the gel of inconvenience!

I don’t have much of an issue with the patches, I use Evorel 50 - there was a problem period last summer when they fell off a few times but it hasn’t happened since. Now, they go a bit crinkly and the edges occasionally lift, but not too far ahead of time. Maybe I’m just lucky!

Mine are the same, I literally have to rip them off

I stick mine on my bum and pull my apple catchers over to keep in place 😂

Its strange as the only place they stick to is my tummy just below my belly button. Not had one fall off since my first attempts, which were on hips and bum area. I suppose its just different textures of skin they stick to! I use a cotton pad with baby oil to get rid of the old adhesive marks - works great.

I would try and switch brands to Estradot. Estradot are tiny and stick like glue! The only problem is the supply of Estradot is sometimes short but I always order my prescription 3 months in advance and my pharmacy usually gets them within that time. I had to switch brands once to Evorel when my Estradot were out of stock and the Evorel were awful! Huge big patches that crinkled like a crisp packet. I dread having to use them again!

Ah, good to know thanks! Thats a choice for me to consider then, as I have both Raynauds, and horrible reactions to the adhesive on plasters and dressings!

I have just been prescribed these after putting off going to the GP.

Do I start on first day of next period? I don't want to collect from chemist yet if that's the case so I can get the most out of the year prescription payment.

I guess this is different for everyone. I have heard people say they are never coming off HRT as they feel so much better on it.

I am just about to start and looking forward to feeling better.

Strangely, the patch glue had a really unpleasant reaction on my stomach skin and I got a sore patch, so I avoid that area now and go with alternate legs…
