Anyone else struggling to keep Evorel Conti patches properly in place?

Advice needed please
I started on HRT Evorel Conti patches last Friday and have not managed to keep a single one on for more than 24 hours. They start crinkling and getting loose around the edges. Has anyone else had this issue? I have applied to non moisturised skin, tried warming them up, applied to different areas (thigh, tummy and bum). All the same outcome. If I do manage to keep one on, they end up coming loose in the shower. I was looking forward to starting HRT but this is getting frustrating. I wonder if there is another brand anyone can recommend?

Yes! I hated Evorel patches, they were huge and terrible and would always crinkle and end up coming off within a day or so.

I have now moved to Estradot on advice of my pharmacist. They are tiny and extremely firmly stick in place. So so much better. Have never had one come off and in fact they are a bit of a bugger to pull off on day 3/4.

Me also, these patches don't stick well in hot weather. My remedy is to use a strong sticking plaster over the edge or corner that's come loose. Branded Elastoplast Strong plasters work the best and will withstand using the shower.
It's a PITA but when the weather cools off a bit they will stick better 😉

PS don't warm the patch before applying it because this may degrade the adhesive 😎

Mine stick so well, on my stretch marked skin I struggle to remove. I put them there or on my bum and they stick well. I’m on 25 so that could be why

Me too. Whatever the weather. Still have skinny jeans they are firmly glued to the inside of,! Had to switch to sachets of gel.

@JAB72 I have been on them for years and never had a problem with them. I have them on my bottom cheek covered by my pants, so less chance of rubbing etc and they are fine in the shower.

Same here .

Oddly enough I can only keep them on, on right thigh on front at the top,in exactly same place, left leg they fall off,bum they come off.
Ive had a few fall off,definitely don't stick to moisturised skin. Sometimes mine come off if my jeans are tight!

I got a mumsnet tip to use the one you’ve just removed to then wipe/scrub off the adhesive marks, works a treat!

Could it be the size you’re using? I have recently moved up to the 100 and am experiencing the same thing. Really crinkly with peeling corners. Whereas the lower sizes were fine

Don't want to hijack the thread, but may I ask please how long all of you plan to stay on the Evorel Conti Patches (assuming you can get them to stay on!). Are they for the rest of one's life or for a certain number of years. I've been on them for 7 years......

Do you have a certain side you sleep on @JAB72?

I could only get mine to stick to upper thigh, that side after warming it between hands, peeling very carefully, sticking, holding warm hand over it. Finally managed to crack it somehow. The care I had to take pushing knickers down for a wee though 😭

I am on 100mcg so two patches and found they came off on my thighs or bum with trousers or underwear moving them. I alternate my right and left lower back/hip without issue.

I’m another on the bum and hidden by my pants wearer and all good. I’ve only been on them for a month but they have definitely ironed out the mood, rage and grey days. I had to come off the pill I was on though to be given HRT and my god my legs and feet ache now, especially in the mornings when getting up. I used to have that and the pill I was on obviously helped with that but not the low mood. Now on the patches the mood is far more stable but the aching in feet and legs is there.
Anyway, I just wondered if anyone had any tips for easily getting rid of the sticky square mark the patches leave behind please?

I use the patch I have just removed to scrub away most of it (like getting blu tac off a wall) and then shower oil and exfoliate for me.

Good to know- thanks. I wouldn’t have thought the old patch would have much stick left once peeled but I’ll definitely give it a go and buy an exfoliator.

I prefer the gel for this reason

It's this weather I think as I'm Hank g the same issue. I've been using them since January and never had a problem with them, even when going to the gym and showering they stuck like glue. Another reason for me hating this heat

I started getting symptoms last week due to not one of those patches staying put, I was enjoying the sun so a bit hot on some days but I’ve go through about 4-5 in the last week. I’m storing them in a cold cupboard as well a si wondered if they were getting hot before even applying, I did consider the fridge.

I’ve been on them for 4 years and rarely have problems. Because I swim regularly I always put mine on my bum. I bend forwards when I put them on so that they don’t crinkle. Then I rub it for a few seconds to ensure it’s secure.

I cant keep them on without using surgical tape...

So if thy crinkle there no good
