I found my libido!!!!!

BerryMummypudding · 30/01/2025 15:09

I've been off my pill for 6 months. Periods are regular and manageable and this last fortnight I've found my libido - BOOSH!!!

Husband is delighted and so am I.

Except I had to get the morning after pill on Monday and I was totally mortified.

I'm afraid if I go back on the pill I'm going to loose my libido again.

I'm looking for advice, what can I use that isn't the pill? I'm 50 and husband is 58. (Condoms don't really work for us)

Thanks.

Congratulations on finding your libido. It sounds like you’ve had the responsibility until now, so maybe DH should do his part and have a Vasectomy?

This!! It's the only solution.

Lost.mine years ago. How did you find it?.

DramaAlpaca · 30/01/2025 16:15

Where did you find it? I'm wondering if mine is hiding in the same place Grin
Lucky you!

Springflowersmakeforbetterhours · 30/01/2025 16:16

I think mine is at the bottom of the laundry basket...

BerryMummypudding · 30/01/2025 16:53

😂😂😂
Well I thought mine might have been buried in the playroom somewhere underneath a the sh*t acquired by our 3 teenagers.

Then a couple weeks ago we had a rare lie in one Sunday morning. I'd had a rude dream in the night. Told hub about it and next thing I know I'm lying in a wet patch!

Gosh I never thought a
Good old 5 minute missionary would be so fulfilling.

Gosh it's lovely we really connected again.

We did have Libido but that was a long time ago.

We mainly used it at Chrstmas then we lost the dice and later the counters got used for something else. So that was that.

Anyway we never could really fathom out the rules - who was supposed to start first, what should you do with the plunger, was the winner the one who finished first or lasted longest? We just didn't know.

Nowadays we play Connect 4 with the neighbours.

Menopants · 30/01/2025 17:27

get a diaphragm . And congratulations

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/01/2025 17:28

Good for you!

How about a copper coil or DH gets the snip,

PizzaPunk · 30/01/2025 17:29

Of course it's not.

OP, could you try the copper coil?

It worked for me for 15 years (obvs not the same one).

Yep. I developed a deep affection for my diaphragm, even when it went pinging across various bathrooms because I was drunk and put too much gel on it.

Actually, I think that's MY libido you found, OP! Keep it, though, I'm not using it and it's nice to know it's making two people happy.

I always preferred connect 4 - especially when playing with the neighbours.

BerryMummypudding · 30/01/2025 18:01

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles and @MissyB1 I'm telling you! Today my libido is so high I was thinking of asking the neighbours to join in some Connect 4!

Am I having some
Sort of menopausal breakdown!

Are you sure it's not mine? If you found it in a 'list property ', which one was it?

RitaFromTheRanch · 30/01/2025 18:18

I stopped contraception when I was 49. No babies yet.

Me too ( aged 47.5) chances of pregnancy very low and an early medical termination ( pills by post) is generally uncomplicated. I am 49 soon no pregnancy in 18 months of unprotected sex.

BerryMummypudding · 30/01/2025 18:28

Noooooooo. I don't think I'm ready to take the risk.

Your 50- seriously what are the chances ? ( definitely less than 1%). I can't believe posters are suggesting your DH gets the snip when you are soooo incredibly unlikely to be fertile.

Huckyfell · 30/01/2025 18:33

Sorry I'm thick, what is libido? Sure I recognise the word but can't remember what it means

Lol. I still don't remember

GloriousBlue · 30/01/2025 18:37

Vasectomy seems like a ridiculous over reaction. A natural pregnancy (especially one that doesn't result in an early miscarriage) is vanishingly low.

I'd crack on TBH, but avoid the most fertile days.

BerryMummypudding · 30/01/2025 18:48

Really? Do ye think it's ok to wing it?

I spoke to GP on Monday morning after a Sunday morning of pure fab!!! (Sorry can't quite believe it) she told me to take the morning after pill.

Do ye think she's just being cautious- I took it! But how liberating to shag away with no need for worry!

Sunshiiine · 30/01/2025 19:11

I’d be very surprised if you had a successful pregnancy at your age. Do you have regular periods still? You could get your hormone levels checked, have a scan done etc to check fertility?
