Is it an age thing? I’ve been like this since late 40s, now mid 50s and I’m the same. It’s impossible to sleep beyond 5, and I’m usually awake at 4. DH is the same now, although he’s only been like in a couple of years.

I live on a street of mainly bungalows. Judging by the lights on from 3am, my elderly neighbours are all the same!

RavenclawsRoar · 04/12/2021 05:55

Are you my 2 year old? Grin

hellcatspangle · 04/12/2021 05:59

And me. I've decided to make use of the extra time to try and sort out the other issue of being unfit by going to early gym classes, makes it feel less pointless!

thegreylady · 04/12/2021 06:03

5.10 this morning, nice to lie in 🙂

RegretfulRufus · 04/12/2021 06:04

Same here

feelingdizzy · 04/12/2021 06:05

Me too !

LemonViolet · 04/12/2021 06:13

Usually because I need a wee, and then we my dogs realise I’m up they need to go out for a wee too, then we’re all up.

PeanuttyButter · 04/12/2021 06:17

I've been waking up feeling anxious but don't know why. Decided to go downstairs, put the fire on and get on the sofa with the cats with a brew. Hoping to nap this afternoon

Ekofisk · 04/12/2021 06:18

3.30 am for me. At least I can usually manage to get another couple of hours before the alarm goes off at 6.30 am.

I’d like to think I could lie in at the weekend but the cat decides to stand in for the alarm with a combination of loud squawking and standing on my head.

Beamiracle · 04/12/2021 06:21

Morning everyone! Dried cat off who loves a towel rub when he’s been out in the rain bless him. I’ve got the kettle on and looking for some traditional style fairy lights for my Xmas tree, Robert Dyas seem the best bet so far. Sleep pattern definitely changing in my late 40’s along with other things!

GoodnightGrandma · 04/12/2021 06:29

I was wide awake at 2, tossed and turned, was still awake at gone 3. Must have dropped off again, but awake for the day at 5am 🥴
I might try taking one of the drowsy antihistamines to see if that helps. Anyone know which ones they are ?

BelleNoir · 04/12/2021 06:30

And me

BelleNoir · 04/12/2021 06:31

@thegreylady

5.10 this morning, nice to lie in 🙂
😂
PupInAPram · 04/12/2021 06:32

I spent the best part of two decades never getting a proper lie in after my ex buggered off with an 18 year old girl leaving me alone with a toddler and a baby. Oh how I longed for a lie in, but between work and lone parenting it never happened. Now I could lie in all I want, I wake up at silly o'clock every morning. 😒

I’ve always been a late riser but the last few weeks I’ve woken every single morning at bang on 5.30am and can’t get back to sleep. Would be interested to know other peoples ages to see if it may be an age thing. I’m mid forties.

EdnaMole · 04/12/2021 06:34

Yep regular member of the Wide Awake Club here! It’s a right pain in the arse. Always flagging and grumpy by mid afternoon. Oh for a refreshing night!

Wallywobbles · 04/12/2021 06:36

I quite like it but now go to bed very early and try to be asleep before 10. Obviously I have no life.

Knittedfrog · 04/12/2021 06:36

02:00 for me, every bloody day! I'm in a constant state of exhaustion. Menopause can do one!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 04/12/2021 06:36

Me too, anytime from 2.30 am!

MyOtherProfile · 04/12/2021 06:39

Why hello! Another 4am-er here but today I've had a massive lie-in and didn't wake til 6 - Whoop whoop!

GoodnightGrandma · 04/12/2021 06:47

Try UK Christmas world for retro lights. Look for Pickwick and Canterbury.

Tiredalwaystired · 04/12/2021 06:50

6am maker here. Since lockdown. So frustrating.

Tiredalwaystired · 04/12/2021 06:50

Waker not maker

Thisyearcandoone · 04/12/2021 06:52

Anytime from 4.30 for me.
Always asleep by 9.30 so getting sleep but would rather to be on the same time zone as my family!
