I'm so tired of the menopause :(

I'm probably actually post menopause, don't have periods really, occasionally feels like I'm going to have one and some light pink discharge. But I'm so tired of feeling the way I do. I have patches that have helped with night sweats. I have been using oestrogen pessaries for about six years. But I still have itchiness and dryness around my genitals. Some lichen sclerosis too. Sex is out of the question because the area is too sensitive and sore. My relationship has ended because I didn't feel anything anymore, no love, I wasn't aroused, nothing. I feel so sad that this is it for me now. I'm depressed and anxious about everything. I don't sleep well. Antidepressants haven't helped. I can't even sit in a doctors office and talk about it now and I can't discuss it on the phone. I live in a very small town, if I asked for a referral to a gynae I'd have to travel over an hour and I'm too anxious to drive that far, and there's no decent public transport. I just want to go to sleep and not wake up because what's the point anymore?

Morning, yes I did do self referal and got appointment to start on 8th of January, I don't really want to increase my venlafaxine as I'm already on a high dose .... I'm very confused as the symptoms I have are most like depression, but then when I read about menopause it's almost exactly the same symptoms..... I feel utterly frightened.. it's as if I will never recover, gp will not let me have blood test ... I also had mirena coil removed on Tuesday as it was stretching both sides of cervix and it was situated very low ?????

Hi all,
I am just want to share how hard it was to struggle with menopause, but unfortunately you all probably know...
But I really was happy when my cosmetologist recommended me a great doctor, that lead me through this tough period.
My menopause started really early I think because of stressed life with my ex husband...so after examination my doctor prescripted me to take vitamin D, omega 3 and collagen. I was sceptic at first, but after taking it about a month my health condition changed. I know that our body is unique and not everything can be used for all, but I am sure, that we should always take care of ourself, no matter what!
We can live happily even with menopause.
Just in case leave the link where I order my supplements: www.vitaminexpress.org/uk/.
I wish you all health, strenght and good luck!

That's really great that you are finding benefits from your treatment, and as you rightly say we are all unique and we must try our best to push through x

Martha17 · 02/12/2020 10:30

Morning all ,has anybody got any experience of evorel sequi patches please xx

NowImmeagain · 03/12/2020 11:42

Hi @martha17 maybe start a new thread about Evorel Sequi, might get more replies that way.

I spoke to my gp yesterday. He doesn't want to change me onto Evorel sequi, thinks I should be on conti, but did mention I should think about coming off it by the time I'm 57 (next year). Sad It's such hard work fighting our way through the system, we're supposed to be able to rely on our gps advice.

Alittlewornout · 13/12/2020 14:08

@Martha17 I am the opposite they changed me from conti to sequi ( as bleeding twice per month). I feel great on the conti but the oestrogen patches make me anxious racing heart and indigestion have had a few panic attacks which I have never had before.Tried reducing the dose but still the same. Back to the GP this week. Hope you get sorted soon, nothing seems straight forward.

Has anybody got advice on everol 50 and utrogestan 200mg please ??,

Okbutnotgreat · 01/01/2021 21:21

@NowImmeagain I’ve just had a hysteroscopy to investigate bleeding and I was nervous having read the information the hospital gave me. It was absolutely fine though, not at all painful and the biopsy was no worse than a smear so please do get it investigated.

Martha17 · 10/01/2021 12:19

Has anyone experienced , complete loss of body hair at 50 just recently started get?

Martha17 · 10/01/2021 12:20

Sorry hrt

Noodles7 · 12/01/2021 16:16

Hey! I really feel your pain! I’m at a complete loss where to go next. I’m 51 and nearly 12 mths period free. Was on escitalopram, til last year, which was masking ish menopausal symptoms. GP wasn’t too knowledgeable and put me on Ellest Duet 1mg which made me feel heaps worse so I came off them as I was worried about the green pills making me feel even more unbearable. Just don’t know what to do next. At the end of my tether, let alone my husband’s! Hmm

I agree I have been to hell and back this past year ,,and still suffering, my gp is absolutely no help ,,all she says is try this try that ,,, and suggested that I increase my venlafaxine ,but it's menopause related I'm sure of that ,,, my partner is also at a loss as to what to say anymore xx

Noodles7 · 12/01/2021 19:30

Martha17
Hello x yes I feel exactly the same and find the GP fairly useless. I used to take venlafaxine too and every time I said it wasn’t working they tried to increase the dose! My husband the same here too xx

Martha17 · 12/01/2021 21:32

Exactly the same for me , keep increasing but I refused the last time ,,, 2 years ago I suffered horrendous bleeding and erratic periods ,I really think that was start of menopause but my antidepressants were masking it ,,, now I'm on hrt but not finding any relief I really feel for you as I know how horrible it is ,,,I'm only 50 since October xx

Martha17 · 13/01/2021 12:12

Noodles 7
Do you find taking the utrogestan affects your mood really badly xx

Noodles7 · 13/01/2021 15:39

Martha 17
Hey! Well, I didn’t try that one. Was put on Ellest Duet 1mg. I was so unwell with the side effects of the oestrogen pills that I was too scared to try the progesterone ones. I read they can cause bad side effects. So didn’t get that far. I do wonder we’re similar though. I was diagnosed with depression over 20 years ago now. Tried different anti depressants. Nothing really worked wonders. But I always struggled with PMS, post-natal etc. My last anti ds were escitalopram and in hindsight they were masking menopausal symptoms somewhat. Just unsure where to go from here really! Feel a bit lost tbh! Xx

Bless you I feel your pain
Almost mirrors what I'm going through
I have 4 sons youngest 18 ,I suffered with pnd after him ,others was fine ,I was on citalopram for about 5 years ,I weaned off them ,and about 11 years ago went on venlafaxine, I find it has always kept me well ,but since March last year I've bèn in a horrible place
I agree 100% that they have masked my menopause symptoms for past couple of years
I'm on everol 50 patches continually and utrogestan for 12 days started 1st of January, I don't get on well with progesterone
I feel so down ,, but I have huge sympathy for you as like I said it's the same story as mine xxx

Noodles7 · 13/01/2021 19:14

Martha 17

Stay strong there. Keep me posted and let me know how you get on. I’m pushing the GP for advice and also left a message for the London Menopause and PMS Centre but haven’t heard from either as yet!!! I’ll keep you posted!! Big hug xxx
