@JinglingHellsBells - is this safe though? Doesn't that mean that you will continue to build the lining of the uterus?

ME57 · 22/11/2019 08:14

Hi all,
Thought I would share my story. I’m 49 and have been having anxiety for the last six months. I’ve suffered from it on and off for last few years. GP prescribed Sertraline (Anti depressant) and I managed to take them even though side effects were horrendous. My anxiety was still present and caused me to take time off work. My periods are very irregular and I have many peri menopause symptoms. Eventually doctor decided to try me on HRT Elleste duet 1mg. As soon as I started Elleste duet my anxiety disappeared. I felt amazing, really amazing. I had my life back...........or so I thought! As soon as I took the green tablets my symptoms started to creep back and once I had finished the green tablets and started white ones again...... BANG!!!! ANXIETY came back with a vengeance! I had thought as soon as I started white tablets again I would feel amazing again. Wrong!!!! 6 days taking white ones again and I’m still suffering. Real struggle to hold it together at times and emotions are all over the place. Rollercoaster comes to mind. Went to doctors today and he has advised me to try and continue with Elleste duet for another 2 months as symptoms may level out.🤞🏻 He also suggested that if symptoms don’t improve within the next few months my next option would be to think about the Mirena coil and hormone patches. Any helpful comments would be appreciated and to let me know I’m not alone in this battle. Xx. Thanks in advance.

I went to the GP today regarding my severe hot flushes & have been prescribed Elleste Duet 1mg which i must admit are worried about starting them, as i have read about anger & anxiety which i do not suffer at all from just hot flushes, anyone with just the same concerns as me or who are on the same HRT

Molli66 · 29/12/2019 09:17

Hiya,
I took my 1st tablet on the 27th, just been reading up on the side effects, mostly worried about the weight gain!
Do you feel any different yet?
Moll xx

Hi there can someone please help me?? I have been on HRT Elleste 1mg for 5 months and the last month been put on Elleste duet 2mg. My flushes were quite mild and I only wanted to take HRT due to my lack of motivation, lack of emotion, feeling empty, feeling like a shell walking around. I felt myself not reacting to any situation and almost being vacant. Since being on HRT absolutely nothing has changed NOTHING at all apart from having an insatiable appetite and gaining over a stone in weight. I used to be a 100 mile an hour person and I’m just now an empty shell. I have made the decision to come off the tablets completely and not gradual. I just can’t see any benefit from being on these tablets. I’m devastated I really am. I see so many posts but I’m not seeing any on feeling devoid of emotions or lack of motivation. My marriage of 27 years is failing rapidly. I’m lost . Please help, any advice would be great . Thanks x

Yes! I have the burning warming sensation around my torso and back which I suspect is my adrenal glands? I take Elleste dirt it’s happening on the green tablets

Son10 · 17/06/2021 17:43

I’m only on day 7 but feeling like there’s something crawling on my skin! Not fussed though just strange. Hopefully the benefits will outweigh the rest, time will tell.

I am so glad I joined this group! I started this Hrt 8 weeks ago.within 2weeks I felt like my whole body had relaxed. I had no pains for the first time in ages! Then I started the green tablets. My breasts were so painful. I got period cramps and then bleed for 14 days heavier than any period I’ve ever had! I also started thinking suicidal thoughts and became , em, I want to say forgetful but it was way more than that! It was more like stupid. Things just were not occurring to me and I was doing the stupidest things! And my driving was horrendous! The doc says it’s normal to have bleeding and I wanted to give it a bit less longer as I so enjoyed the feeling of a relaxed body and also a bit more energy. So the bleeding stopped . Breast pain took a bit longer. But now I am bloated up like a big fat pig! I can’t close my jeans and I’m extremely uncomfortable! So I don’t know whether to continue on this rollercoaster to see if it gets any better or give it up and try a more natural route.

Hi all
Im on day 6 of elleste duet 1mg.
I feel awful. Either want to sleep or argue with just about anyone.
Really considering just stopping them as can't face Christmas feeling like this. I also feel complete vague 🙄.
Anybody know if its just safe to stop or if side effects could get worse.

Winmywings · 14/05/2022 13:49

My periods stopped at the end of 2020 but was still having hot flushes. I saw my GP then was prescribed Elleste duet 1mg February 2022. Two weeks after taking the tablets l started haemorrhaging. One of the side effects is heavy bleeding. Though I am not hot flushing anymore, I have had to come off Elleste duet 1 mg. Going from having no periods to having it, is so depressing and debilitating. I cannot imagine myself going back on it. Rather I have hot flushes than haemorrhaging and impacting on my entire wellbeing.

I started elleste duet a week ago as my anxiety is getting worse and now I'm feeling weepy only just been I'm going through the menopause how long before I even feel better

Lisa710 · 10/03/2023 18:57

Elleste Duet changed my life - the hot flushes, insomnia, anxiety had hit me very swiftly and I was desperate.
My GP prescribed me Elleste and I haven't looked back. After about a year, the symptoms started to return so I've been on the 2mg version for about 3 years now.
I haven't had any terrible side effects (or any side effects as far as I know) and I'm very hyper aware of anything weird going on.
It's your decision whether to take it or not, but my experience has been a positive one - healthexpress.co.uk/elleste

I was prescribed these about 3 weeks ago and I've not started taking them yet. 49, heavy periods but last one on Friday for the first time in 3 months.

Also scared to take them reading about the anger / anxiety on the green tablets as I get bad PMT with these symptoms already.

No hot flushes but bad joint pain which is why I went to the dr's. Not sure whether or when to take these now? Can anyone advise?

SamR36 · 12/03/2023 15:18

@user6757539345 if you can i would hang out until your symptoms worsen maybe. Then start hrt.
I started these, i wanted to kill, & oddly my only symptom i had avoided was rage, yet these brought that on!
I stopped them & went onto utrogestan & oestrogel.
Try glucosamine for your joints if that your only symptom.
But obviously your choice. Not everyone has the same side effects so maybe you'd be ok

user6757539345 · 12/03/2023 22:00

@SamR36 thanks, I really don't know what to do! The joint pain is bad enough that it's affecting my mobility and sleep. Yoga, supplements etc over the last 4-5 months haven't really helped. But I'm worried about HRT making me so moody that it affects my work - I can't afford to screw up.

SamR36 · 13/03/2023 07:37

@user6757539345 well if its any help they didnt agree with me from day 1, so i contunued for nearly a week & got woorse so just stopped. Instantly felt better.
So maybe give them a try, you'll probably see from the off if they will affect you badly.
Good luck 🍀 i hope they work for you x
