@ JingleHells Bells
Thanks very much for your advise - yes, you are right, I will give it more time. I think having read so many people feel instantly better within the first two week, i really hoped i'd be one of those people too. So when my night sweats didn't stop i started becoming a bit down about the whole thing. My night sweats were pretty severe though so i suppose that takes time to change!! Anyway, I will give it more time before seeing my GP again. I've literally today started pack number 2. and am on my first 'white' oestragen round again! So will persevere.
I will have to start exercising again and reducing my sugar and carbs as you suggested - i'm sure this will help! To be honest when you feel crap about yourself and not sleeping well - it really demotivates you! I need to pick myself up and get on with exercise again, get back to being myself - which i have really missed. You're completely right and i have to push myself and hope that HRT assists me in some way too. Thanks again x

Hi. Been on Elleste 1mg for a week and experiencing migraine type headaches, temperature, sickness and diarrhoea. Got bleeding on 6th day too. Do I stop taking it? Anyone experienced the same? Tia

JinglingHellsBells · 02/03/2019 12:16

TBH it sounds like a coincidence and mor e like a tummy bug or virus- it shouldn't give those effects. I'd stick with it.

JinglingHellsBells · 02/03/2019 12:17

If your periods have not stopped it's likely it's your own period.

Gbam123 · 03/03/2019 15:31

Thankyou. Hoping it's a coincidence bug. Fingers crossed it passes soon.

Hi I started taking these tablets 2 weeks ago, and I must say my night sweats are totally gone, have been sleeping so much better. Just started the green ones today, my breast don’t hurt but I feel they have become a little swollen, but I don’t mind as I am a size 32a, and I have had a little bloating, but I am going to carry on as I need to give it a chance. I always remembered taking the contraception pill for the first time and had the bloating, but carried on with them and my body became use to them, I am going to try and be positive, I never really read the side effects as I think I would never probably take them, so I am letting my body decide. Good luck girls and I keep you updated next month on how I am feeling 😘

RitaFairclough · 16/03/2019 13:01

Just discovered this thread and wanted to add my thoughts. I've been on Elleste for I think three and a half years. I also found the first few months quite tough. Awful breast pain and I felt grotty on the green tablets. But it settled down and now I wouldn't be without them.

I DO have beef with my local Boots, which never, ever has them in stock (they're the most common HRT, right?). And the assistant always tells me (and the rest of the queue) that I don't have to pay because it's contraception and I have to say no it's not. Luckily I've found another local chemist to go to instead, because that every six months is not good for my menopausal rage!

Donnamichele · 16/03/2019 13:01

How is everyone still getting elleste duet??? I was getting on really well with this 1,1 have to be careful what I take because of my migraines and now I can't get it anywhere??

RitaFairclough · 16/03/2019 13:15

Donna, last time I went to Boots they did say they didn't have it (par for the course) and there was a supply problem. But the little independent chemist I found had it.

Donnamichele · 16/03/2019 17:39

I've rang around a lot of chemists and been to a lot and still haven't found1 that has

JinglingHellsBells · 16/03/2019 18:02

I'd not worry too much about supply- there are lots of other HRT brands that have the same formulation;
1mg estradiol and 1mg norethisterone.
There are equaivalent types. www.menopausematters.co.uk/perimeno.php

Jules768 · 21/03/2019 17:50

I have had exactly 14 of these tablets, the rest are now in the bin. I am still in the perimenopausal stage and have thankfully only suffered hot flushes/night sweats but have had enough of them. The tablets seemed to quash the hot flushes pretty quickly and reduced the night sweats from an average of 8 a night to 2-3 a night. This has come at a cost of getting thrush, which I haven’t had for a couple of years, dizziness to the point where I have to lay on the floor, dreadful nausea and severe back pain where I am actually off sick from work at this precise moment from the pain.
I’ll stick to the hot flushes as it is a small price to pay rather than having 4 other symptoms! Every woman is different and what works for one might not for another. One size doesn’t fit all ladies!!Smile

Ollychic · 24/03/2019 22:14

Is anyone else suffering from a severe dry mouth!!? Its driving me insane 😫😫 hrt duet 1 helped me for everything else accept this snd also hate getting periods again with this! Not gona lie i feel like shit right now 😢

Jules768 · 25/03/2019 07:22

I must admit that I now have two 500ml bottle by my bed and frequently wake up in the night to glug down some water so you are not alone in having a dry mouth at night.
Oh the joys of being a woman!🥳

Sandypops1966 · 13/04/2019 20:11

Hi I am almost finished my 1st packet with the last tablet tomorrow & glad stuck with it. Had a pink discharge yesterday after missing my pill by one hr only. Hi all. I’ve felt compelled to reach out to you as I am really struggling right now. I’m in the middle of the menopause and I’ve been on elleste duet 1mg for 1 year now. The white tablets are great-good energy and happy, the second half of the pack (the green tablets) are pretty damn awful...teary, anxious, paranoid, dry wrinkled skin, find difficulties communicating. I’d like to come of hrt and start a fresh with herbal remedies, diet and exercise. I 45 and quite frankly feel and look a lot older... any of you girls come off hrt without too many issues and could offer me any advice ? Honestly thanks so much for even reading this far and if you can’t help I wish you a happy evening. S x

Celle58 · 05/06/2019 09:56

Hi all , I was on Elleste duo a couple of years ago but stopped them as like some of you, hated when it came to the green tablets 😟They made me feel moody and unsettled, Where as the White ones made me feel Great, I’m thinking of trying a different type of hrt has anyone got any ideas which would be a better alternative 🤞I have been post menopause for 5 years but I have many aches and pains and would also like some help with Libido 🙈Any advice 😊.

nikki2019 · 05/08/2019 13:45

Hi,

I am new to this but would like some help ?

I have been on elleste duet 1 mg for a year then up to 2mg for about 6 months then when back down to 1 mg then went on evorel conti. This all started when i had a misgarage back in 2015 and ended up having a DNC. after this i never had a period for a year ???

so i went to the GP and he prescribe me with elleste duet 1 mg after i had a blood test. So this was a awful experience had margarine and anxiety through the roof. I stuck with it for a year then could not cope no more. I have never suffered from anxiety or migraines before.
So i went back GP put me on 2 MG of elleste duet OMG i thought i was loosing my mind more margarines and feeling so low not good. So i went back down to 1 mg of the elleste duet nothing had seem to work this is a year and half after i started.

So i went back but this time seen a new GP she put me on the evorel conti and OMG been on it for six months and i am even worse ????
I feel tired depressed anxiousness all the time and even had panic attacks ???? This has caused me to be of work and i became house bound.

So i went and GP give me AD so give ago and that made me like a drooling Zombie ??? So came of them and thought i would come of everything so i have and been of everything for 12 days now. I have seem to be a bit more stable and more energy and also i could go to the shop???

So my question is ? HRT making me worse ?? I must add i am only 44 could this all be a big mistake.

MrsMc8 · 06/08/2019 13:37

Hi, I am just about to start the Elleste Duet. I am 50 and have been without a period for 12 months. I have been taking AD, Fluoxetine for a year which has greatly improved my low mood. On the other hand I have had horrendous flushes, poor sleep, aching joints hence the decision to start HRT. I am now worried that starting Elleste is going to bring my low mood back. Anybody else on Fluoxetine and Elleste? Thanks :)

Roselinemac · 08/09/2019 19:58

I've been on these tablets for 8 days. I feel as though my peri symptoms mainly the insomnia, mood swings and libido have improved already. I'm starting to feel a bit panic though because I've done some research about the green tablets and it doesn't sound good. I know I should give these tablets a chance but I'm not sure I can cope with feeling anxious, depressed and all the other symptoms I've heard you get from these tablets. I really don't know what to do. Is there an alternative? Should I ride this out and see? I know it sounds ridiculous because I've not tried them out yet but nearly every review I've read seems to say the same thing. I'm really panicking about it and if I wasn't in these white tablets I'd be so anxious now. 😢😢😢

DanielH2003 · 19/09/2019 08:42

I started elleste duet 1mg 6 days ago, was having an awful time with insomnia, flushes 20 + per day, brain fog, panic, tearful, no sex drive at all. Even this early I feel calmer and flushes are slightly less frequent. Dreading the green pills though! I'm 52 and think I've been in peri for over a year periods are so irregular..38-88 days cycle. Wish I had tried this sooner, I tried evening primrose, magnesium, ginseng...nothing helped
Its great to read others experiences, helps me feel I'm not totally losing the plot!

Lynnedoe2964 · 01/11/2019 20:02

I been taking Elleste Duet 1mg for 3 months and I am bleeding every 2 weeks, is any one else like this. The hot sweats have gone and I feel fine. Before this I was seeing a period about every 5 month so slowly stopping them. I’m 55 so not sure what to do. Hate the hot sweats but don’t know what’s worse at the moment. Thank you in advance for any answers

ME57 · 19/11/2019 09:08

Hi everyone . I’ve been taking Elleste duet 1mg for 2 .5 months now , all good ( not a single flush ) apart from the periods which were a bit of a Shock ! first one very heavy , second one more “normal” my problem is that when this box of tablets end in 2 weeks time I guess I will have another bleed and this will happen when I am on a lovely spa break :/ therefore I won’t be able to use the facilities as I am unable to use tampons .
Does anyone know if I can delay this bleed by missing a weeks tablets and so presuming they bleed would come early ????? Thankyou !

JinglingHellsBells · 19/11/2019 16:43

@ME57 you can skip the progestogen tablets and go straight onto the next pack which starts again with estrogen.
